The food, service and ambiance was spot on. I'm so disappointed I hadn't come here sooner. The beef was so tender and I don't get any chewy spots (which I hate and it has happened in another places) it was the right amount of spice for both the chicken and beef. The baklava was spot on I had the raspberry and the normal one with the Arabic coffee pot which i highly recommend since it's a nice contrast of bitter and sweet. Delicious, extremely fresh, and very friendly owners! Sahara Grill is located right next to FIU, and new to this area so we decided to check it out! The owners explained the menu and all they had to offer, we ended up ordering the Beef shawarma with two baklavas on the side. Good amount of food for the price which was $15 a plate and well balanced with hummus, veggies, salad, rice, and meat. The modern and chic Middle Eastern decor felt refreshing. I was craving falafel while in Miami visiting family and we found this spot close to where we were staying. What a lucky find! We were traveling with our dog so I ordered online and we sat at one of the two outside tables to eat our delicious food. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was going to be amazing because the smell alone was incredible. I got the bowl and the falafel was so flavorful, delightfully crispy on the outside and perfectly moist inside as it should be! We also got a side of fries and they were well-seasoned and excellent. The cherry on top was the staff! I was warmly greeted when I entered and everyone working there was friendly and professional. While we were sitting outside, one person came out and brought us a sample of house-made baba ghanoush, which was packed with flavor and so fresh. Finally checked out Sahara Grill and it did not disappoint. I've been eyeing this spot since the sign first went up, and I'm so glad it's finally open! Tried the falafel sandwich with tahini sauce and it was incredible--warm, fluffy pita with the perfect crunch, fully loaded with fresh toppings. The staff was super welcoming, and the gentleman at the counter took the time to explain the difference between the sandwich and the bowl, which helped me decide. I was in Miami visiting family with my wife and our dog and found Sahara Grill conveniently near my parents' house. I got a falafel sandwich, my wife got a falafel bowl, and we got some fries to share. Everything was absolutely amazing!! The falafel was some of the best I've ever had. The pita was soft and fresh and all the extra veggies and sauces were so complementary to the meal. And whatever seasoning they put on those fries is incredible. I didn't go inside since we had our dog, but the staff came outside to check on us while we ate which was really nice. I appreciated the care they took into not only the food but also the service. My one very minor critique is that we asked for no pickles on my sandwich, but it came with pickles anyway. No big deal, I just took them out! They are family owned and operated and you can absolutely tell by how smoothly they operate and the love and care put into the food . Everything is delicious well seasoned and flavorful. I love experiencing cultural dishes and they absolutely used a little bit of home in these meals . The bowls were packed and every bite had me wanting more. So happy I stopped in while doing errands. From the moment I got out of the car, I felt the vibe of this wonderful place with the music. The service is great- so friendly and helpful- I took a while deciding what to order, but got lots of input and suggestions. The owner even gave his input and made sure everything was good with my order. I was so pleased with the food- if there is one word I could use to describe it, it's authentic. I have vegetarian family members and there were lots of options for them. The labne and hummus were so creamy and the olive oil on top was the best I've ever tasted- I'd be interested in buying a bottle! And the bread...from the pita to the zatar flatbread- was so fluffy, thick, with the flavor you expect from freshly baked authentic pita bread. We also tried the shawarma sandwiches and for dessert- Knafe! Omg...it was so good and we loved the sweet filling stretching out from the fork...authentic and delicious. In all seriousness, everything seemed high quality & fairly priced although I recommend paying cash to avoid a card surcharge. The meat is freshly grilled over fire. Their pistachio sauce is AMAZING. Next time I'm going to ask them to load it into my sandwich rather than the garlic sauce. The manager offered me a sample of their baklava which they make themselves if I'm not mistaken. It was so good. The restaurant is full of Egyptian decorations & a big mural of the pyramids & a camel. Pretty cool looking place. It reminds me of Disney's Aladdin. Just went to Sahara Grill for our second time and it was sooo good, I'd say even better than our 1st visit. My husband had the mixed shawarma sandwich and I had the gyro and both were delicious. You also have to have the hummus platter and I recommend ordering an extra side of pita because it's some of the best we've had. Also you MUST try the garlic sauce I'd put that on anything it so good. The service here is amazing and you can tell they care about their customers.
