Was craving some Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food, so i decided to stop by Shara Grill and let me tell you, the reviews weren't lying. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted right away and given great recommendations on what to try. I went with the beef shawarma sandwich, made with top quality sirloin and super fresh veggies and toppings that taste straight from their authentic origins. You can really taste the difference in every bite. Another thing I loved was that they have a small fridge stocked with their housemade sauces. As a total sauce lover, I had to try a few...the garlic sauce and their house sauce sauce were both delicious and definitely worth grabbing extra for take home. It right near FIU. If you want Fresh ingredients, friendly service, and flavor that hits every craving this is the spot

Delicious, extremely fresh, and very friendly owners! Sahara Grill is located right next to FIU, and new to this area so we decided to check it out! The owners explained the menu and all they had to offer, we ended up ordering the Beef shawarma with two baklavas on the side. Good amount of food for the price which was $15 a plate and well balanced with hummus, veggies, salad, rice, and meat. The modern and chic Middle Eastern decor felt refreshing. Highly recommend and we will most definitely be back to try some more! ^.^

I was craving falafel while in Miami visiting family and we found this spot close to where we were staying. What a lucky find! We were traveling with our dog so I ordered online and we sat at one of the two outside tables to eat our delicious food. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was going to be amazing because the smell alone was incredible. I got the bowl and the falafel was so flavorful, delightfully crispy on the outside and perfectly moist inside as it should be! We also got a side of fries and they were well-seasoned and excellent. The cherry on top was the staff! I was warmly greeted when I entered and everyone working there was friendly and professional. While we were sitting outside, one person came out and brought us a sample of house-made baba ghanoush, which was packed with flavor and so fresh. I can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Miami!

Finally checked out Sahara Grill and it did not disappoint. I've been eyeing this spot since the sign first went up, and I'm so glad it's finally open! Tried the falafel sandwich with tahini sauce and it was incredible--warm, fluffy pita with the perfect crunch, fully loaded with fresh toppings. The staff was super welcoming, and the gentleman at the counter took the time to explain the difference between the sandwich and the bowl, which helped me decide. The space is simple but clean, with a cozy little lounge area that adds a nice touch. My order took a bit longer than expected, but only because the family ahead had a big one--and I actually appreciate that everything is made fresh to order. Already planning my next visit!

I was looking for a place open late that wasn't a drive thru, and stumbled upon Sahara Grill, we came in at around 11:30pm and were greeted with kindness from the moment we walked in. The cashier walked us through the menu and was super friendly as well, I also loved that they had a bunch of different sauces to try in a little mini fridge by the soda machine. My chicken shawarma bowl was delicious, I'd come back anytime time

I was in Miami visiting family with my wife and our dog and found Sahara Grill conveniently near my parents' house. I got a falafel sandwich, my wife got a falafel bowl, and we got some fries to share. Everything was absolutely amazing!! The falafel was some of the best I've ever had. The pita was soft and fresh and all the extra veggies and sauces were so complementary to the meal. And whatever seasoning they put on those fries is incredible. I didn't go inside since we had our dog, but the staff came outside to check on us while we ate which was really nice. I appreciated the care they took into not only the food but also the service. My one very minor critique is that we asked for no pickles on my sandwich, but it came with pickles anyway. No big deal, I just took them out! But I hope Sahara Grill finds much success and we'll definitely be back when we're in Miami again.

New Palestinian-owned restaurant in Miami, Sahara. Owners are from Nazareth in 1948 Palestine. Classic menu of bowls and sandwiches including beef and chicken Shawarma bowls, filet .ignong kebab skewers, falafel, kibbeh, falafel sandwich, beef Shawarma, sahara cheesy chicken sandwich, and Panther crispy chicken baguette named after the Florida Panthers. Located near FIU. The owner and everyone there are very friendly. The food is fresh and cooked right in front of you on the grill I ordered the sahara cheesy chicken sandwich which is something I haven't seen at Arab restaurants. It was delicious. The fries are delicious with tahini parsley and garlic sauce. Ill be back to try more of their delicious food.

Stumbled upon this location one late night working in Miami and they did not disappoint. Everyone was super welcoming and they even encourage you to stay and enjoy the space they've created if you have the time. They are family owned and operated and you can absolutely tell by how smoothly they operate and the love and care put into the food . Everything is delicious well seasoned and flavorful. I love experiencing cultural dishes and they absolutely used a little bit of home in these meals . The bowls were packed and every bite had me wanting more. The falafel was so crispy and the best part was watching everything be made and put together as we waited. It's all made fresh, so be patient when you order. They will check on you while you wait and trust me, it's worth it !

I'm not sure what was better here: the goo or the service! What a pleasant surprise! We came across this place while planning to have lunch somewhere else in the shopping center and we are so glad we came in. Everything is fresh. Quality is great and service is exceptional! Everything we tried was DELICIOUS! Highly recommended.

The food is some of the best in Miami! The staff has super helpful and nice! The service is a bit slow but the food is fresh and so worth it. The restaurant is small but has a good amount of tables. You get an FIU discount if you show your ID as well!

Food, service, and ambiance was great. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our food was exactly what we wanted and they exceeded my expectations on every level. The portions and quality of the food was amazing. Try the Knafeh. You'll thank me.

The staff is very friendly. Food is delicious. Beef Shawarma Sandwich was amazing. 1st time eating at Sahara and definitely coming back.

    Mixed Shawarma beef and chicken

I had the shawarma pita with chicken and beef. It was off the chain and good sized portion. The guys working there are awesome and very helpful with decision-making. I'll definitely be back.

Kibbeh and the Beef Shawarma (I think that was the name) the owners daughter called it the sushi.

We called them to let them know we were running a little late and they were happy to hold our reservation for a few more minutes and it was great because this restaurant does get packed. Service is attentive and friendly... where they lost me was actually the quality of the dishes. Greek salad... was very sad. Overly ripped tomatoes, almost spoiled. Fish of the day sandwich (gyro style) was bland. It needed seasoning. NOT Good. Grouper from their specials... also flavorless. It comes over orzo which was overcooked. (Gummy)... and so on. I don't often have to write bad reviews but in this case I feel it is necessary. Way overrated. Way overpriced for the quality. Definitely not a restaurant I would recommend to anyone.

For context, I worked in fine dining in New York and Miami for almost 20 years, so I notice the details immediately, hospitality, management presence, the energy of a room. You can usually tell pretty quickly what kind of operation you're dealing with. We were a party of five. I arrived with my four-year-old son and was greeted warmly by the hostess. That warmth ended instantly. Standing directly behind her were two managers in suits blocking the main entrance. Both looked straight at me and my child and said absolutely nothing. No hello, no smile, no acknowledgment. Anyone in hospitality knows that moment sets the tone. As an Arab woman who grew up around a culture where hospitality is everything, it was already a bad sign. We were seated outside and the vibe stayed cold. Unfortunately, the food matched it. We ordered a lot because I genuinely wanted to give the kitchen a fair shot. I grew up eating Lebanese food and what stood out most was the lack of soul. Everything felt flat, like it needed salt, lemon, brightness, that warm Mediterranean seasoning Lebanese food is known for. The tabouli was especially shocking. A $20+ tabouli with no bulgur that was so roughly chopped it was basically whole parsley leaves and slices of onion. Any Lebanese auntie would die at the sight of it. At one point I asked our server if they had harissa or any kind of spicy sauce. She said the only option was Sriracha. In a Lebanese restaurant that charges $18 for a tablespoon of hummus. An Asian chili sauce as the only option. What made it even stranger is that harissa is listed on multiple dishes on the menu, so it clearly exists somewhere in the building. I asked for the Sriracha anyway out of desperation for flavor. It never came. Same with ketchup for my toddler's fries, it took three requests. Throughout the meal I walked around the restaurant several times taking my son to the bathroom, looking around the space, even going upstairs to the lounge. Not a single person acknowledged us. Not a host, not a server, not a manager. The bar is right by the entrance and every time we looked over at the bartender and bar manager, just blank stares. At one point we were clearly standing there confused looking for the bathroom in an empty restaurant and still had to say "Excuse me, where is the bathroom?" Wild. Later I walked up to the bar myself to ask if they carried mezcal. After dinner I went back to order one. Same energy--zero warmth, zero engagement. And this is with an automatic 20% gratuity already on the bill. The mezcal was a $25 two-ounce pour and I still had to ask for an orange slice garnish because no one offered it. Empty bar, two people behind it, and I still had to request it. Also worth noting, our reservation was at 5:45pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Yet I didn't see a single manager walking the floor, greeting tables, or checking on guests. I had talked this place up to my party because I'd been so curious about it for years, and it was honestly a huge letdown. If you know Lebanese food and understand Middle Eastern warmth and hospitality, this probably isn't the place for you. Expect cold, almost nonexistent hospitality and food that feels stripped of the soul that makes Lebanese cuisine special. The space is beautiful. I'll give them that. Everything else felt like a very on-brand Miami disappointment, what happens when you give people a beautiful restaurant, expensive food, automatic gratuity, and no leadership. From the lack of authenticity and attention to detail, it's hard to believe anyone truly Lebanese is behind this operation. If anything, it feels more like a polished money grab. Honestly, it might have been less jarring if they just called themselves "Mediterranean" like so many other places in this city. But if you're going to call yourself a Lebanese restaurant, the culture and hospitality should actually be there.

During our last visit, an expensive black Prada bag disappeared inside the restaurant. At first, the General Manager, CECILIA , confirmed that we arrived with the bag and stated they were reviewing all camera footage. However, despite multiple requests, we were never shown the arrival footage or provided clear evidence proving what happened to the bag. The communication became increasingly contradictory, and instead of transparency and professional assistance, we were eventually accused of acting "fraudulently" and formally trespassed from the property. What shocked us most was not only the disappearance of a valuable personal item, but the way loyal customers were treated afterward: no transparency, no proper cooperation, no accountability, and accusations without clear proof. We remained respectful throughout the entire process and simply asked for clear confirmation regarding the footage. Instead, the situation escalated into accusations and threats of trespassing. If personal belongings can disappear inside a restaurant and management responds this way, guests should seriously think twice before leaving valuables there. At this point, we sincerely hope the restaurant owner or upper management reviews this situation carefully, conducts a proper internal investigation into how this matter was handled, and contacts us directly in hopes of reaching a fair resolution regarding both the significant financial loss and the emotional distress we experienced as a result of this situation and the unfounded accusations made against us. We were whisked inside to the intimate, dimly lit interior with a DJ table tastefully tucked away in the back of the space. Service was welcoming but overall, not quite as warm and attentive as I've experienced at other places in town. We started off with the Turkish Manti Dumplings, which were the standout of the night. The complexity yet restraint of flavor, balancing indescribable buttery, roasted, earthy notes with a touch of umami and subtle tanginess from the yogurt. The Mezze Sampler was a nice option for trying three of the dips. All very tasty, but I've had slightly better elsewhere. The Sweet Jeweled rice was the other standout with flavor and textural variety that made each bite pop. I found the Roasted Brussels Sprouts undercooked and lacking the same level of flavor as the other plates. The weakest dish of the evening. The Grilled Whole Bronzino got top marks from the meat eaters at the table. Overall, 4/5 stars for a delicious meal but with tough competition around town limiting my ability to hit that 5.

I returned to this restaurant after a few years (previous review below) - and it's still so great!…read more This time around to my surprise they expanded - I was introduced to a new floor plan, decor, and staff, all were incredible! The restaurant is now two floors, has different dining seating, and is beautifully decorated, which makes you feel like you've been transported to Greece. The food was a hit this time around as well- I especially enjoyed the moussaka!

Meraki is a beautiful restaurant with truly authentic and delicious Greek food! And I'm Greek, so…read moreyou can take my word for it ;) While it may seem slightly off the beaten path right off Flagler, it's very conveniently located by the Knight Center metro stop and a very easy walk from the bridge. Also, the atmosphere they've created both indoors and outdoors really draws you in: beautiful foliage, gorgeous decor, and inviting decor. They play amazing Greek music to set the mood at a very reasonable volume so you can still hear your party. I've been for lunch during Miami spice and recently for dinner. Everything I've had was delicious with tons of flavor and huge portions. Both times I took enough leftovers for another meal! I especially love their zucchini fritters and their spread plate. All their spreads are so fresh and flavorful but their hummus especially was soo good. My husband and I shared the meat platter for two for dinner and enjoyed everything on it - the loukaniko was especially delicious! For dessert, you can't miss the galatoboureko, a sweet custard dessert with the flaky phyllo dough you know and love from baklava. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend for a lunch date or dinner date and it's super versatile: great for friends, families or romantic dates. Don't miss this beautiful restaurant in downtown!

What a great find! We were in the area and searched Yelp. This location popped up…read more We were there during happy hour and enjoyed the outdoor patio. The happy hour menu was fantastic with all $5 plates. We ordered drinks and a couple items. Then ordered more. Awesome tasting food as well as the service. There is a parking garage directly connected and the restaurant does add 20% service tip. This spot is now in our favorites list. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

Motek is easily one of my favorite restaurants! Every meal I've had there has been incredible, but…read morethere are a few dishes that keep me coming back. The crispy cauliflower appetizer is an absolute must-order, and their warm pita with tzatziki is so fresh and flavorful that I could honestly eat it on its own. My favorite entrée is the salmon with the lemon potatoes--it's cooked perfectly every time, and the lemon potatoes are absolutely divine. To top it all off, their gelato is the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The only thing I miss is their coffee menu. They used to have more coffee options, and I was disappointed to see that they've narrowed it down to just Turkish coffee. I would love to see some of the other coffee drinks make a comeback. Even so, the food is consistently amazing, the atmosphere is beautiful, and Motek is still a place I'll happily recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal.
