We are so grateful to SAGE Veterinary Centers - Campbell for the incredible care they gave our dog, Cypress. He underwent a major surgery, and the surgical team was absolutely amazing--skilled, compassionate, and so reassuring throughout the entire process. Everyone took the time to answer our questions and made a very stressful experience feel manageable. We truly felt like Cypress was in the best hands. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of him.

This is the foxtail they pulled out between my dog's toes. Thank you, Dr. Jain!

SAGE has been our go-to place for years for emergencies and when our regular vet is out of their comfort zone. During this last visit, I was fortunate enough to get the best doctor ever, Dr. LeeAnne Jain. After two failed (and traumatic) attempts to remove a foxtail from our dog's foot and an infection that just wouldn't stop, our vet recommended we go to SAGE since they have better imaging equipment and because my dog might require surgical removal. I immediately drove over to SAGE. After waiting about three hours, we were finally seen by Dr. Jain, the kindest and most caring vet ever. After a visual inspection and a quick ultrasound, she was convinced that she had located the culprit and could get it out under light sedation via a small incision. And indeed, she was able to get the foxtail out. Now, after about a week of meds, the wound is pretty much gone, and the only evidence of any procedures is a slight bump and shaved paw where the incision was made. I'm so thankful to Dr. Jain and Nurses Janette and Blue for their empathy and for taking such good care of Oakley. You are the best!

Last week, I had to bring my wiener dog in for an emergency. Just a few days after his annual dental cleaning, one of his eyes became swollen. Within a matter of hours, it got so bad that I had no choice but to rush him to the emergency vet. When you call an emergency hospital and they tell you to come right away, you'd expect to be seen promptly--not to sit in the waiting room for another 4-6 hours. This, in my opinion, is one of the biggest flaws with emergency vet hospitals. They likely know if you're still hours away from being seen, but they tell you to come immediately regardless. In my case, I had to watch my dog's face continue to swell and even bleed for another five hours before, near midnight, I pushed for him to be seen. I even called two other hospitals in hopes of finding faster care. He was eventually prescribed medication for cellulitis of the eye tissue. While it's still unclear exactly how or why it developed, his condition has improved dramatically over the last few days and is now almost back to normal. Waiting for hours at an emergency vet is frustrating enough, but watching your pet suffer needlessly during that time makes the experience far worse.

My dog after tx, super happy.

This review is specifically for the oncology department at SAGE Campbell. My experience with Dr. Kiselowe and team was amazing. They treated my dog with so much love and care. He was always happy to go to his appointments and was happy when I picked him up after treatment. I trusted the vet's expertise and appreciated his kind manner with my dog and with me. This team made my dog's last few years wonderful and I'm so grateful we opted for treatment with them. As for reviews of the ER dept., yes it's always a long wait when going in for emergencies. But the ER doctor I met with was honest and professional.

Our dog was suddenly losing his balance, but was still able to walk fairly well. We rushed him to Sage ER (recommended by our vet since they have neurologists here if needed). We waited in the lobby and were seen 4 hours later. From the time we arrived to the time we were seen, he basically lost all mobility in his back legs and was declining sharply. The ER vet stated that they couldn't do anything and to bring him back on Monday since they don't have a neurologist in until Monday (and we still may not even be seen). We went home and basically broke down because we didn't how to help our dog and he couldn't go to the bathroom at all. We ended up finding UCD hospital which was open on weekends. Thankfully, we showed up and they admitted us. They stated that the chances of my dog walking again would've dropped from 90% to 50% if we waited until Monday since he declined so quickly and was bordering stage 5 IVDD (in just one day). It's shocking how few neuro vets there are staffed in the Bay Area. I was shocked to learn that it's rare to have a fully staffed neurologist and appointments can take weeks and months since it's such a time sensitive condition. I'm also disappointed that the ER vet at Sage didn't urgently tell me how critical my dog's condition was and tell me what my options were outside of Sage. Overall though, I highly have to praise the receptionist staff and the nurses/vets that do the intake and advice. They're all so incredibly sweet and helpful. Huge huge shoutout to Kendra for reassuring me everything will be ok and providing comfort when I was so lost and had a mental breakdown. I cannot thank her enough for showing me compassion during this extremely traumatic time. Sage is so incredibly lucky to have her.

The wait can be long. We checked in around 8:30pm on Sunday and were seen around 3:00 am. But, I'm so grateful to have an emergency vet open 24/7 that's close by. We were concerned that our Pomeranian was dehydrated. After assessing him, he got fluids, antibiotics and we had his bloodwork done. The results of the bloodwork revealed some info about a lack of Albumin so we'll be doing an ultrasound through our primary vet to learn more. So glad we are now armed with info the figure out what the root cause of our pup's discomfort could be.

Saying goodbye to his lifelong friend--thank you Sage for making this sad time manageable and safe

Proceed with CAUTION ‼‼…read more I regret to say that my experience at The Whole Pet Vet Wellness was deeply troubling and misleading. From the initial phone conversations, I was given the impression that this clinic was welcoming, supportive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of my eight-month-old German Shepherd. However, once I arrived in person, the tone and treatment shifted dramatically. What was presented as straightforward care quickly became layered with unexpected and costly add-on fees that were never clearly disclosed beforehand. The experience felt structured to create trust upfront, only for essential information and services to be reframed later in a way that prioritized billing over transparency. The conduct of management--specifically Joe (manager) and Jenn (assistant manager)--was particularly concerning. Both displayed a dismissive and condescending attitude, speaking down to clients rather than communicating with professionalism or empathy. On one occasion, I personally witnessed front desk staff being reprimanded and spoken to harshly in front of me, which was uncomfortable and inappropriate in a client-facing environment. Most alarming was the refusal of assistance while I was present with my dog and seeking help, allegedly due to staffing limitations. A wellness clinic should not invite clients in under assurances of care only to later deny support because of inadequate veterinary coverage. In contrast, the front desk employees, MIA, Ava and Ashley were consistently kind and professional, despite being placed in difficult and clearly demoralizing situations. Trust is everything when it comes to veterinary care. Unfortunately, this clinic's leadership demonstrated poor communication, questionable transparency, and a troubling focus on revenue rather than patient well-being. I strongly encourage pet owners to ask very detailed questions and consider alternative clinics before committing to care here. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Whole Pet Vet and feel it is important to share my concerns to warn other pet owners. Wait....Having said that.... It gets worse..... My eight-month-old German Shepherd was seen at this clinic, and throughout the process I experienced a troubling lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism. I repeatedly attempted to contact the clinic for updates and clarification regarding my dog's care and diagnosis, often calling more than ten times before receiving any response. Even then, many of my requests went unanswered. A diagnosis of possible elbow dysplasia was delivered without adequate explanation, guidance, or timely follow-up, leaving me anxious and confused about my young dog's health. The lack of communication during such a serious situation felt negligent and deeply distressing. Additionally, I was initially led to believe that I would be shown how to administer Adequan injections to my dog during a visit. This was presented as a straightforward and supportive process. However, once in the room, I was informed by the assistant manager, Jenn, that she would refuse to demonstrate how to give a simple subcutaneous injection unless I paid an additional $49 fee. This was never clearly communicated beforehand and felt opportunistic, especially given the emotional state of a concerned pet owner. It was difficult not to feel that financial gain was prioritized over patient care. The veterinarians and management, including Joe and Jenn, did not demonstrate compassion, accountability, or integrity in my experience. I do want to note that the front desk staff--specifically Mia, Ashley, and Ava--were consistently kind, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, their efforts were overshadowed by the actions and decisions of the clinic's leadership and medical staff. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic. Pet owners deserve transparency, timely communication, and care that prioritizes the well-being of animals--not unexpected fees or unanswered calls. I strongly encourage others to seek veterinary care elsewhere.

Our most recent visit our cat got a sticky (glue) fly trap stuck to him, which may seem like a silly thing to bring a cat to emergency for... but the level of freaked out that he was, we were having difficulty handling him, and he was bleeding and we couldn't determine from where. I called to ask for advice on how to handle the situation, which they gladly gave. The person at the front desk even called me back after she talked to a technician and had additional information for me! We ended up taking him in, as we just couldn't get things under control on our own and he was clearly in a lot of pain. A technician took him back to assess him quickly, got him cleaned up, located the source of the bleeding and cleaned his wounds. And of course he was an angel for her... (why can't he be like that for me?!?!). Once again, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. They never minimize what you're dealing with... if they thought it was silly reason to be there, they sure didn't make it seem that way to me. They took our concerns seriously and were very supportive, and took excellent care of our cat. The other thing I really appreciate with the team here is that they aren't trying to add on or charge for unnecessary services. Costs are explained clearly and feel very fair. I haven't once felt like they were taking advantage of the emergency nature of a situation. Again... really good people here.

Our local vets didn't think it was possible. More key points I learned: (6) 50-60°F Cold compresses for 2 minutes, then (5) 105°F hot for 2 minutes. Start with cold & end with cold. This gets the blood moving in & out of the area. Warmth is inflammatory, that's why you need to start & end with cold. I bought a bunch of microwavable heat/cold pads. I would put the hot pads in a pot of hot water while using the cold pads to heat them back up. The first two shockwave treatments are done with the doctors to assess and develop a treatment plan, and the following treatments are done with a certified therapist. Everyone has been so kind to my dog that he loves coming here. And not just for the human grade cheese he's given to do the exercises!! We were also given a comprehensive List of physical therapy movements and stretches to do at home. It's too soon to tell if the treatment is working well, but we have high hopes with this clinic! It takes us about 3 hours of traffic to get to and from this clinic, but it's such a gem. They provide towels and blowdryers and snacks for the water treadmill work. We opted to not try the injection as my dog is scared of shots, who isn't really?! The doctor was so kind to provide us with a another supplement option, which we have started. They check in to see how he's doing at the start of every appointment and tailor the session to his needs. We opted to not go through insurance, but they can help out with paperwork if you do so. I shared more on his condition and our solutions below, but ultimately this experience at the Rex Center (IMO) helped extend Maddox's life by 7+ months. Big thank you to Ellen and Robin for your empathetic support, and just overall knowledge and skills, while helping to make Maddox's chronic arthritis livable again. ~~ More context to Maddox's arthritis condition for anyone that may be facing similar challenges -- hope it helps! . Maddox's arthritis meds (Adaquan/carprofen/gabapentin), which had worked great for ~2 years, mostly stopped working in early June 2023. By late June 2023, and about 3 weeks since the meds stopped working, it was to the point that Maddox couldn't get up effectively, or walk on his own; nor could he hold himself up while going to the bathroom. To me at this time, it seemed like something was sprained, whether that was in his paw or around, etc, as he was also regularly knuckling / curling his paw during these 3 weeks. First we got him a X-Ray, it came back as nothing being sprained or broke. Then a MRI with an orthopedic (Marin County), and that all but confirmed Maddox's debilitating arthritis as the singular cause. The orthopedic was even surprised it was only arthritis and nothing more. So after the MRI, he was prescribed prednisone (early July 2023) by the orthopedic. It worked! **This is also when I set up his first swim session with Ellen and the Rex Center ...and this worked too! Mainly, the Rex Center + prednisone was the only solution that provided results. Where once a week, over a few months, Maddox had a swim session at the Rex center. Progressively stabilizing into what came to be a situation where he was playful again, getting up and going to the bathroom on his own strength, and overall about as good as it could be given the circumstances. I can't thank Ellen and Robin enough. On the video and images I shared, those are from the very first session. Maddox got right in, swam great, and overall was relaxed (like a spa day!). Of note, Maddox in his entire 14 year existence NEVER swam too, for whatever reason he hated the water. With Ellen and Robin though, you never would have known. Thanks to the team here again, and I only wish we had Maddox in the water during those 2 years when his arthritis meds worked great. **My recommendation is if your dog has any level of arthritis, the earlier the better, get the pups in that warm water at the Rex Center.
