Eager to fix what we have been unaware of for months, we reached out to several landscape companies and obtained several quotes... Wow!!! What it costs to look at an appealing yard and surrounding areas!! For a moment we appreciated HOA, just for a quick second... Considering our 3 quotes, Rock, Turf, and Landscape worked with changing up materials that our budget would appreciate. They scheduled us to meet our Code Enforcement deadline (yes, we got a fix-it ticket from the City!) and landscape crew were quick to prep, complete and clean up. We didn't want to deal with maintenance or monthly landscape and water bills, so we opted for a rock landscape as it was much cheaper than fake turf. With a few minor changes, Gus was knowledgable with material and explained why, what and how we would expect to maintain. While there were more permanent solutions, it will cost more when cosmetic designs on permanent landscape come to play. Working with our budget and offering options for our needs, we were pleased to opt for rock landscape as a best fit for us based on what we expected for the long-term. The crew were friendly, professional, and courteous, especially toward heavy foot-traffic as they worked on the sidewalk areas. They had to cease work twice to accommodate heavy foot traffic on a school day, however, they were done long before our deadline! Final inspection and a walkthrough with business owner before we closed out our project and paid off what we hope will be lasting investment (curb appeal and code enforcement friendly!). UPDATE -- Unfortunately, our experience changed significantly after I posted my original review…read more When I originally wrote this review, I genuinely believed we had found an excellent landscaping team. Unfortunately, as the project continued, I became increasingly disappointed with the quality of the work and the way the job was handled. Several issues have come up that I feel are important to mention. The property was not properly graded as we had discussed. Instead, the grading was done by hand with a shovel, despite being told the property would be graded. The DG installation also became a major issue. Proper research and preparation were apparently not done before the DG was installed, resulting in the DG having to be redone twice. We have also experienced a leak in the irrigation line, leaving the DG wet. Additionally, two of our sprinkler manifolds are now hammering because they are receiving approximately 110 PSI of water pressure, which is a concern that should have been addressed with the irrigation system. The project also took approximately twice as long as expected because the work was largely done by hand rather than using the appropriate equipment. From my perspective, the job seemed increasingly rushed, with the focus appearing to shift toward finishing the project and moving on to other jobs rather than taking the time necessary to ensure the work was done correctly and to a high standard. There were also issues with the sprinkler timer installation. Initially, the timer was installed in the back yard with an extension cord. We ultimately asked that the timer be placed inside the garage, and we ended up having to drill the appropriate hole ourselves for the sprinkler wiring. What makes this especially disappointing is that my original review was written because I truly believed in this company and the people behind it. Tony has a great personality, and he and his wife were very kind and personable, which made me feel confident that we had chosen the right team. Unfortunately, the quality of the work and the way the project was completed did not live up to the impression we initially had. I regret that I initially recommended the business so highly before the entire project was completed. I wanted to give an honest update because my original review no longer accurately reflects our overall experience. I sincerely wish things had turned out differently, because I believe this could have been a great experience if the same level of care and attention had been maintained throughout the entire job.
