Pricing here is extremely inflated…read more I was quoted about $6,000 for a custom platinum setting, which I later purchased elsewhere for $945 including CAD design, appraisal, and third-party verification. When I declined, I was told it would still cost over $1,000 just to set my diamond into a completed setting with no modifications required. I was also quoted $4,700 for a ~5 dwt platinum band. At the time, platinum spot was around $103/dwt, making that pricing very difficult to justify. I ended up purchasing an identical 6.5 dwt band elsewhere for $825, again with appraisal and third-party verification included. This felt like aggressive markup rather than pricing based on actual materials or labor. Communication was also lacking, I was told emails and voicemails had been sent, but I never received either. I would strongly recommend getting multiple quotes before doing business here.

Carmen's designs can be interpreted as landscapes in metal, with a richness and depth inspired by nature. I must say I am not usually one to rave about things like this, but she has created a line that is stunning. Her use of color and metal combines a sleek elegance with a hint of casual timelessness.

I wanted to find a band to compliment my engagement ring, and mind you, I'm very picky, I know what I want. We spent a few sessions looking for what I wanted, they sent some stuff over from another store and also brainstormed with their other employees. At the end, they weren't able to find something I wanted, which was fine, but I appreciated all their research in it. Terry and her team are amazing. I ended up resizing my ring here. It was very affordable and they were able to do it in a few hours.

It's a wonderful jumble of little dealer spaces absolutely stacked with stuff. Most of it isn't my thing, which is actually part of the fun. I'm not looking for an antique. I wander around until something jumps out at me and says, "TAKE ME HOME." Every time I've answered the call, we've ended up with something that has become a family heirloom. The prices are remarkably reasonable, especially for Marin. There are currently two lamps I've been keeping an eye on that are a little more dinero than I want to spend right now. If they're still there next month, however, we may need to have a conversation. What I especially love is the complete absence of sales pressure. The people behind the counter have always been genuinely kind. Nobody follows you around, nobody tries to sell you something, and nobody seems remotely bothered if you spend ages looking and leave empty-handed. They just let you linger and discover things. Half the time we find something wonderful that we absolutely HAVE TO TAKE HOME. And half the time we don't. Either way, we leave saying some version of the same thing: "How is THIS in Marin?" If you like old things, strange things, beautiful things, things you didn't know you needed until five seconds ago--or just the pleasure of poking around without anyone trying to separate you from your wallet--go have a look. Just don't blame me when something chooses you.
