The bathroom what is a good size as well with a standup shower, pedestal sink, commode and decorated with stainless steel siding. There's an air conditioner in the room and thankfully located right by the bed to my liking!!! The bed was very comfortable and once again the decor was beautiful. The night I was there they were a number of bird hunters staying in the lodge. I was expecting to hear talking, mouse, them climbing the stairs etc. However I found it very quiet and I slept extremely well. One of the washcloths had what appeared to be a short curly hair entangled in it. The towels are thin. What else? Let's see, bread crumbs on the sheets of one of the two beds. I went to the front office and asked for another room. The owner or manager gives me the key to a "better" room and then follows me to my room. She sees the dirty wash cloth. She sees the breadcrumbs. She then asks." How many of you are sleeping in the room?" " Just me" , I answer. "Then why not sleep in the other bed?" Unbelievable The better room has clean towels as far as I can tell and no crumbs on the sheets. But there are stains on both the sheets and pillow cases. She explains that some things don't come out in the wash. I am then lectured "Turn off the lights in your first room and you better not leave the AC running!" She grabs the key and leaves.

The biggest problem was apparent dishonesty by the young man in the office. When asked about the breakfast advertised, he assured us there would be biscuits and gravy, pastries, cold cereal, and juices. In the morning - all they had was bad coffee. Nothing else. The young man in the office said they had a problem with a delivery. There were appliances there like a big multi-cereal dispenser, but no present breakfast. The second bit of low credibility was when we were looking for the ice machine and he indicated there had been an electrical problem the previous night and the machine was not currently working --but considering Sara C's review pic from Feb 2025 -"Out of Order. Across the Street Ice Machine Working" -I wonder if this is a continuous problem rather than a glitch from the night before. There were a few other problems: * The deadbolt was inoperable. The door seemed warped out of alignment and no amount of pushing or wrestling the door up or down allowed the dead bolt to engage. (We were tired, it was late, and we didn't feel like demanding a new room so we piled luggage next to the door as an alarm.) * The swimming pool was partially filled with brownish-green stagnant water. I remember the pool being out of service on a previous stay here, but don't remember if it was in this sad shape both of our previous visits. * One of the lights by the bed was burned out or otherwise nonfunctioning. The owners described it as a "working man's motel", and I understand that. If you're truly looking for an inexpensive place to lay your head, this place is fine I guess? But if you're looking for any kind of comfort, you'd be better off finding an Airbnb in the area. We honestly would have been more comfortable camping.... The pictures on hotels.com, etc, are misleading. They make it seem much nicer than it is. The overwhelming scent of Fabuloso can't hide the fact that the floors are dirty (the picture is my socks after walking around for a few hours) and there are holes in the walls. We were only given one towel, the tv picture was fuzzy and the remote didn't work. The refrigerator was dirty and sticky inside. Uncomfortable mattress with springs poking out, and flat pillows. The description also states that they serve breakfast from 6-9am. There was no breakfast. If that was something that needed to be arranged beforehand, that needs to be stated in the description. The only reason I gave it more than one star is because it was very affordable, and I'm sure the owners work very hard, but if you don't have the resources to properly maintain a motel, you should probably go into another line of business.
