I was actually waiting in line for another restaurant in the food hall when I spotted Saffron Kitchen. I was ecstatic to see delicious and healthy Indian food and walked over right away. The men working the stall were wonderful and the food was fresh and tasted great. Everything was from scratch, I could see the Naan being rolled out by hand. My husband ordered the poutine. There was nothing under the ingredients for that dish that states that there are cashews in it. I am severely allergic to nuts. You order at the counter and they text you when it is ready for you to pick up. I ordered the rice bowl with white basmati rice, paneer (similar to tofu) and tikka marsala. I originally wanted the brown rice but they were out. My friend ordered the chicken biryani. Our food also came with a yogurt sauce to dull the spice just in case. The rice bowl was very good and filling. It had just the right ratio of rice and sauce and the spice was just the right amount. I love Indian food so didn't hesitate when I saw Saffron. The man working was extremely helpful regarding my questions, and I love that they have some vegan options since I can't eat dairy/eggs. Great place, great staff. Delicious food. The only criticism I would say is that they do add sugar to their curry. As an Indian, I do not like that as I think it mars the taste of good curry.
