The Food was amazing! The service was excellent. The waiter spent so much time with us explaining the different Menu items they have. The place is nice new building. All the decor came from India.

    The outside of the restaurant!

A Fantastic Indian Lunch Buffet!…read more Taj is a gem! The restaurant is modern and very clean, and they have a full bar, but the food is the star. The lunch buffet here is the perfect size with excellent chicken, goat, and vegetarian options. The food is delicious and so flavorful. The staff will bring a basket of fresh baked Naan to your table. Taj is nice enough for a date or for a work lunch. I'm definitely coming back soon.

We ordered family-style, and every dish that hit the table was vibrant, aromatic, and made with love. The tandoori chicken was simple yet so comforting, it arrived in a sizzling skillet adding a hint of flare in the presentation. Each chicken piece was beautifully charred, and coated in a bold, smoky marinade. The curries were so rich and each one had its own personality. The creamy yellow curry from the Chicken Korma was very rich in flavor while the saagwala was earthy, well-seasoned, and not over-puréed. Personally my favorite was the chicken korma the curry sauce was just on another level, I highly recommend this dish. The lamb biryani was another highlight with fragrant basmati rice and huge chunks of lamb generously garnished with fresh cilantro. Bread lovers be warned! The naan was hot, fluffy, and perfect for scooping up sauces. We also tried the aloo tikki as an appetizer and they were crisp on the outside yet so soft inside. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a full Indian spread with friends or family, then make sure you check Taj out!

It was late fall and I was keen…read morefor a drive so I pointed the car in the direction of 'Nashville's Queens' and looked for a place to strike my fancy. Surati had been on my radar for a long while so when I drove past, I knew that I had made my mind up. Despite it being a Friday night, it wasn't very busy. The inside is small but not so much that you'd have a claustrophobic attack. Parking is easy (thankfully; a rarity these days) so after walking in... I sorta stood there. I'm not new to small mom & pops but I didn't quite know how things worked here and rather than call out, I waited to be greeted. I would have to continue to wait. No wanting to stand in silence with a nearly empty dining room, I asked about the ordering process. Maybe the kitchen (and front of house) was busy with online orders? My service was standoffish at best. Normally I would have left but open hours on Friday night can fluctuate and I didn't want to start over in another queue (it was after 7). Had I eaten in, I would have gone for a dosa. Not knowing how that would travel, I opted for Szechuan fried rice (medium). I hadn't so much as ordered and sat in a booth to look at my phone to waste some time when I was told my food was ready. Either Surati has the fastest chefs in the city or my food was not made to order -- and I certainly didn't experience the 'extras' other Yelpers describe. Not wanting to get into it, I paid and left. I came home to a generous amount of well-seasoned biryani rice and vegetables with just enough heat to let you know you're alive but not so much as to wreck your mouth. I took the W. Food was good enough and I felt that I got my money's worth. Everything else about my experience, though, led me to conclude that this would be a one and done for me. Onto the next.

The flavors stand on their own, rich with spices and textures that make every bite exciting. We tried the chaat (you can't go wrong with any of them) and the cholle bhature, both bursting with bold flavors and the perfect balance of crunch, spice, and tang. Every dish felt like a street food experience, made with care and authenticity. On top of the amazing food, the hospitality was just as memorable. The man taking orders was incredibly kind, offering the kind of warm, welcoming service that makes a place feel special. If you're a true foodie, Surati is a must-visit. It's an unassuming spot, but once you step in, you'll find some of the best Indian street food around.

It was one of the best meals we had! Drinks included almost gothic, & pearing is caring. We ordered and split so many things and had leftovers for the next day. An order of paneer cheese, tikka masala, tandoori poutine paneer, a braised pork shank tikka masala, crispy Brussels sprouts, garlic Parmesan naan. We ended with a Chauhan chocolate cake which was to die for. The food was excellent, the service beyond comparison and the restaurant was so lovely. There were televisions showing old movies and of course the classic decor made the meal even better.

I suggest you offer it as a side. I would have liked it with my entree. Wow, the daal was spicy and flavorful. Perfect with the naan and rice. I especially liked the garlic shrimp. The serving included 7 good sized shrimp that were fresh. The tika masala was a perfect addition. The roti was not a favorite. It was dryer than I expected. Certainly a different taste and texture. Naan usually has more butter and roti not so dry. I would come back and recommend this place. Funny thing, there were no Indian diners. The best restaurants are usually filled with native Indians (from India). I suspect the price is high, the food designed for Anglo audience, the spice levels are way less than typical. Still, I enjoyed.

Rajdhani is Nepali food, which none of us had ever tried - but we all love Indian food and Nepali food had some similar flavors and dishes. We started with two orders of momo (Nepali dumplings). We had a vegetarian party in our party, so we got one order of the vegetable momo and one order of the chicken momo. To be honest, I was more excited about the chicken momo, but the vegetable momo BLEW ME AWAY. The chicken was okay (a little dry and not as flavorful as the vegetable), but the vegetable was amazing. (The chicken was still worth ordering, but it needed a bit of the sauce to make it more delicious, and the vegetable momo didn't need anything at all.) Then we shared a bunch of dishes family style: chicken curry, aalu govi (potato, cauliflower, and spices - aloo gobi in Indian cuisine), a vegetarian thali (a dish of many small dishes, which included a daal, eggplant, okra, and other veg dishes), chicken curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and paneer chili. Everything was good, but my favorites were the Chicken Tikka Masala, the paneer chili, and the okra from the veg thali. Rajdhani is a grocery store and cafe. The cafe is to the back of the grocery store. The service was good, and our server answered all the questions we had about the menu. We finished ALL of our plates. Every little bite of food was eaten. We didn't leave hungry, that's for sure! Rajdhani isn't a fancy place. But as an introduction to Nepali food? It's a winner. I definitely plan on going back and trying more Nepali food if the opportunity arrives! If you like to explore the international cuisine available in Nashville's Nolensville corridor, add Rajdhani to your list! Well worth the hike out to Nolensville and Bell Road (admittedly not so much of a hike for this Crieve Hall girl). Two thumbs up!
