This Safeway is well managed. It is very clean and almost always well stocked. The exceptions being the transition period between sales. I mostly go for their excellent deli and grocery section. Love the store and the sales. Employees, not so much. How to be Rude and Nasty apparently is the employee manual. The meat department is always overrun with overweight female employees looking to score with the boys in that department. But the store is convenient so I wear earbuds listening to my own music and pretend I'm shopping after the apocalypse. read more

We like this Safeway. Employees are usually friendly and helpful. Went in today and Hailey was the cashier, she helped me with the app to ensure I received the sale price. Then went to the pharmacy and got our shingles vaccine. The pharmacist was very nice and not rushed. Overall a good visit! read more

I feel silly leaving a review for a grocery store. This one though... You could not pay me to not be frustrated in the store. The grocery store does not have asparagus - the canned asparagus I bought was literal mush (and $6), they do not have traditional Siracha, they don't have very many Asian food options , their overall selection was simple, basic American eatery. That's fine, but if you're anything other than red blooded, American, Fourth of July holiday, eating types, you may not find anything that you want or need here. I don't know that I've been this frustrated while grocery shopping before. Will definitely not go to this grocery store given the option, again. read more

Great pharmacy; very friendly and helpful. They are quick to fill prescriptions and it's easy to get yearly vaccines there.

This Safeway is just down the street from my house and I'm always going there, unless I go to Walmart on Houghton. The staff are relatively friendly. They have a good variety of items. The fruit I get never really seems to be very sweet though. And prices are getting out of control there. It is a clean store which is always a good thing for selling food. read more

Everytime I go to this Safeway (it's not very often) ... I regret it. I typically go because of desperation but they usually don't have what I need. They are not organic friendly, at all... I've talked to cashiers several times and they complain too. They say they have to shop else where. There is always long lines. I've picked up cakes there... and one lucky time found mold!!! Contacted manager and they said ohh yeah don't buy anything from our bakery department!!!!!!! Staff said that! (This was a while ago...) so possibly things have improved but still won't buy from bakery. It's a good size store and they do have some cool stuff. I've gotten amazing deals on bar ware there. But I have walked in and walked out without buying anything more times than I've actually purchased. I do cherish Safeway. It was always my go to back in CA. This place is my go to. Like really. I am reviewing Safeway. Here is why: The first time I visited was when I was newly single a couple of months ago, and some super hot police officers were arresting a shoplifter. Anyways, one stopped to say hello to my kid and I was like "kid, you're the best wingman ever!!!" I digress. I love Safeway because of the member card. It's free and you get a heckuva discount. I also love Safeway because the produce is fresh and reasonable. I'm big on chicken, even though I absolutely hate it, so they have specials on breasts. Buy one, get one. I'm more of a butt girl, but on chickens it's all about the breasts. Some things that could be a bit better: I need you guys to stock the extra large Jiff Natty PB. I seriously dislike going to Walmart, but for the value, your tiny jars aren't cutting it. The price of your Greek yogurt is ridiculous and often times its expired, so I have to dig for the product in the back. I don't mind so much because I check the dates, but not everyone does. Anyways. I really love this store for it's convenience in location to my home and for a lot of the products they carry but OMG!!!! ... why is 65% of their stuff either getting ready to expire or already expired !?!?!? This store has the SLOWEST cashier service I have ever been to. No matter what time I go there is always 3-4 people in 2 lines and cashiers that move ridiculously slow. With no courtesy clerks to be found to help them move faster. I have actually seen them close a register while the rest of them are packed with long lines. Get with the times Safeway. Self check out is now a thing!!! If you want a quick in and out experience please take the extra time to drive down to Fry's and/or Walmart they are only a mile down the road. Have shopped at this store since they were at Golf Links and Kolb and then relocated to Golf Links and Wilmot. This store used to be clean, friendly and efficient. Recently, new management has taken over. Now- not as good produce, doesn't carry items they used to and also noticed not as many shoppers, yet long lines. I go to this Safeway out of convenience. I like their selection. They have a lot of organic food (we eat organic) and they always have a good selection of food. The low rating is due to some of the people working there and one of the manager's. I am a property manager who lives within walking distance of the store. So, we go there often. However, the other day, my son (who is almost 22) and I went to buy some beer and a few groceries. When we were in the beer section, he picked up a six pack and put it in our cart. We had a case of bottled water as well as food. When we arrived to the check out lane, the cashier kept looking at us funny. Now, we "aren't from around here" but I didn't think we looked that different from anyone else in this area. We have never had to take the case of water out of our cart before. My son lifts it up when we get to the cashier and they scan it and we put it back in the cart. Easier for everyone. This time, the cashier looked at us and rudely said, "Put the case on the conveyer belt" and kept staring at us like we were doing something wrong. We've gone through her lane before. She looked at the manager who was in his office and he nodded at her. She looked at us again and pushed us to get things going. We had already placed everything on the conveyer belt. She looked at me and said, "ID, please" and then looked at my son and said, "You, too!" and she was very accusatory when she did it this time. I looked at her and said, "You think I am contributing to a minor, don't you??!!" And her face got red, she looked at the manager and then us and said, "let me see his ID", my son handed his ID to her and he said, "listen, we aren't your enemy, so you don't have to treat us like we are doing something wrong, because we are not". She said, "I'm sorry" and looked down. I was so appalled, I said, "I said, you know what? We aren't the enemy, I come in here all of the time, I am property manager near you and the last thing I would do is something illegal". She said, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry". I was SO angry about being treated this way in there. And it isn't the first time the female cashier's have been rude to me in there. I don't know why, either. I am friendly to everyone in there because if they see me being angry and then associate an angry person with a property, that would be a terrible way for me to represent the business where I am employed. So, I will continue to go here, but, I am on guard every time now and am selective about the cashier's I choose. When I am out and about, I choose the Safeway on Broadway, instead. The people are so much more relaxed and helpful in there. I assume the manager at this store is the problem. It's too bad, it could be a really good place to shop. read more
