worst experience in my life on top of that this grocery store is pretty gross and filthy. Don't recommend this one at all. I made an online order last night and it said it went through and then I got a text message saying hey your groceries are done. We're on our way then I got a text that they're close then three hours later nothing got no groceries zilch. I'm very annoyed at this point so I contact the customer service on the app and they're stating that it's on the way don't fret and I'm like OK well it's past the Time I don't think it's coming and they recommend me to call the actual store so I called the store and the guy says my payment didn't go through. That's really funny because I see it right there in my account and he said no you don't have any money....BULL! So I demand to speak to the manager, and the kid gave me attitude, When he kept me on hold for a good 10 minutes, I decided to call Back in the manager, Eric answered he was not lovely. I had a terrible experience at the fuel island for gas at the Safeway in Silverdale Washington. After pumping gas that I paid for at the pump kiosk, I decided to walk over to the island window to the cashier, Mandy, was working to buy a candy bar and $20 in lottery tickets. Ready to pay for the items, I told her can I buy another $20 in lottery tickets. She asked in a tone, "another $20 in tickets?" I said yes. She again asked in a tone another $20 in tickets, I repeated yes. She said in a tone, "once I generate these tickets, YOU have to pay for them!" I responded, "I've bought lottery tickets for years, this isn't my first rodeo." She then responded, "hey, I don't need attitude from you people!" I responded what's that supposed to mean? I came in with a very last minute request for brown paper to wrap a bouquet of flowers for my friend's birthday. She was having a rough day and I knew flowers would cheer her up. I have been shopping at the Silverdale Safeway for years. I stopped to grab a few sports drinks and ice cream. I was also giving a nephew a ride and he accompanied me into the store. On the way up to the register the store manager aggressively confronted my nephew accusing him of stealing from Safeway in the past. The young rude manager was very confrontational while he snatched the cart from me and told me to leave and that I was not allowed to purchase my items. I have never stolen or had trouble before. I was unaware of any problems my nephew may have had with the store and asked why I am being told to leave and banned from purchasing my items. The manager sternly told me that I am guilty by association and must leave immediately. I am so embarrassed and beside myself. I have never been treated so poorly. I do not know what action I can take against this young aggressive manager. He was out of line and that situation could have been dealt with more tact and professionalism!!! read more

Workers don't offer a hand when you loose your car keys in the store. They stood with blank faces not moving their butt's not offering to go with you and find them. I would love to tell you all things I have a problem with this grocery store but it all boils down to two things: poor management of space: If two shopping carts can barely get by each other in an isle you make it impossible to comfortably shop for items. And your product: You have over stocked shelves of genetic top 3-5 brand name products that offer no variety. You're too corporate Safeway. I've had the Chinese food at many Safeway locations for years. Occasionally one of the dishes is too salty or dry, but usually it's good. Tonight my niece bought the Shanghai Meal from the Silverdale Safeway and brought it home and almost everything was awful. The egg rolls tasted weird and the outside was whitish, the rice was hard and clearly not cooked all the way, the chow mein was inedible it was so salty and had soy sauce added to it which I've never seen before, the brocolli beef was hard and too salty, and my niece said they asked if she wanted sweet & sour and she said yes on the side and then didn't include any sauces, which she didn't find out until she got home. How can you screw up rice from a rice cooker? A bad meal on top of their insane grocery prices. read more

We visit the Silverdale Safeway quite regularly. We like the large selection and the fact that it's open until 1 am (which lets us shop without dealing with crowds of other shoppers). Our only problem with the store is the fact that the self checkout machines are annoying to use. We can seldom get through the transaction without having the machine call for help. We use self checkout machines at various other stores and only the ones at Safeway have given us trouble. So, we generally opt for a human checker. A while back, we called in to the meat department, asking about the possibility of getting turkey thighs. The butcher told us that they can't supply these, but then suggested that we try Central Market (in Poulsbo). We liked his honest and helpful response. read more

I recommend avoiding like the plague their drive up and go "service". My last two orders have been completely jacked up, and it has been a nightmare having the charges taken off my bill. Both times I've been told (reluctantly) by employees that their e-commerce business is just completely mismanaged at the Silverdale store. Yeah, no kidding. It's a freaking disaster. I feel sorry for the nice young people that work there. It's not their fault, and they have to deal with the numerous irate customers. This was probably one of THE WORST experiences I've ever had in my life there. I came in to pick up a birthday cake and balloons along with some candles and a card. Everybody was super helpful throughout my shopping especially the bakery and the cashier who's name was Teri who rung me out-both of you were great but, AFTER I had paid I went to go look at flowers thinking this was no big deal I didnt get anything else . Once I set foot out the door the Female manager with bright red hair (didn't catch her name) approached me so abruptly and "Do you have a receipt for the cake and the balloon?" As if I was stealing I said "yes of course" and she said " just making sure" seemingly disappointed because she didnt catch me doing something wrong . I was so shocked and caught off guard I quickly left. I shop there almost every day sometimes twice a day and spend a decent amount of money each time wanting support the neighborhood branch. Normally I wouldn't complain but this was absolutely embarrassing and she should be taught a few things in being observant. If she was watching me that closely she would have seen me PAY through a line with a CASHIER not self checkout. She didnt even apologize, nothing. I did call and complain and I am hoping I hear back from the store director. I WILL NOT BE BACK NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE because if they have and imbecile managing their store on any level this isn't anywhere I will take my business. It makes me truly upset because I've been a customer here for almost my entire life. If I could rate this experience any lower I would. I hope she is addressed. I hope no one else is treated this way. Thanks for ruining my shopping trip that I was so excited about beforehand. I usually go to this location to grocery shop. I never have any problems going in. There are always great deals. Never too crowded(except on holidays and football games). The customer service is always great. And quality has never been an issue for me. I used their Safeway delivery today, and there was a note that they were out of ground turkey!? Wow! Now that's pretty impressive. So I am taking away one star because I was hoping to not have to go into town to get groceries, and now I have to drive 45 mins round trip for one item. Well Silverdale Safeway, due to the lack of customer service and really what I should actually say " shameful" service today , not only am I going to put one of your employees on blast but you have lost me as a customer . At approx 2pm today my mother and I were visiting this store to pick up a few items. We decided to use the self checkout. One of the items didn't scan correctly and it sent up the bat signal alerting your staff to come assist. Waiting, waiting , waiting.... and waiting. The blonde female employee who I will refer to as " Karen" because this is how she behaved saw that we needed help and slowly made her way over. She didn't ask what we needed help with, just stood behind us . My mother had to tell her what was happening as to why we needed help. With a pretentious response she said " I need you to move ." Nothing else. No kindness, no humor. Cold as ice. Now Karen , first off sweetheart, this is YOUR job.... customer service. Do it. Secondly , when you treat a senior in the way that you did today, you shouldn't be at all suprised when the family snaps back at you. SHAMEFUL . One bad employee and one bad experience can ruin a shopping trip. Ill spend the extra time and money going elsewhere from now on. read more

Don't have any deliveries made. This place is the worst I've ever seen in making deliveries, when you make a list through the app you can't even guarantee that it will be fulfilled properly. Grocery delivery service is unacceptable at the present time. 3 times in less than a month their drivers have simply dropped our groceries including perishables such as raw chicken, cottage cheese etc at our door without even ringing the bell to let us know the product was delivered. Today it sat for an hour and a half in near 80 degree temperatures. It even appeared that someone had opened an energy drink by slipping the seal off and drank half the product!!!!!!! This establishment has gone way down hill. Customer service doesn't answer the phones, I was on hold for over an hour. I am judged and profiled for coming in on my work clothes everyone assumes I'm stealing something or have a fake ID and make me take it out of my wallet. The butcher was rude to me last night -I had a question about which roast to get for Christmas dinner and he apparently didn't understand what I meant and answered with a quick description of different cuts of meats. When I tried to ask it a different way he said "You know there's a lot of other people waiting for help so...". Just moved to Silverdale three months ago, and I've definitely enjoyed Safeway. Super clean store, great produce, natural foods, and meat selections - and the flowers are beautiful! I've been in there at least once per week, and every store associate has been so friendly. One stopped to chat about the hydrangeas in my cart, another went out of her way to help me sign up for the Safeway card, and each cashier has been really nice. Every associate that walks by in the store smiles and says hello. I was a customer service manager for a grocery store chain in Michigan for 13 years, and this makes me really appreciate Safeway for their quality and obvious commitment to customer service. read more

I really did not want to shop here today however I was in the neighborhood. There needs to be better organization as far as the check out lines go please. When I come in especially today having walked so far, I'm just not thinking about the overflow of a line that extends down the grocery aisle. Unsure as to how you could fix that, but that was a bit of a problem people get into verbal altercations over something like that. My biggest issue is the customer service counter were you purchase lotto, money orders. WERE exactly do you stand in the line? I was waiting beside a guy who for whatever reason should have been standing FLUSH along the counter so that customers with shopping carts can have access, well he stood off to the side about a foot from the cashier check out line. I stood beside him & patiently waited. Some idiot cuts in front of me, ill mannered, at least ask me if I'm in line thank you very much. I decided to leave, I'll go to another grocery store to take care of my transaction.
