Arrived during "low use hours" (Wednesday, 1:03pm). Had to wait until 1:21 before a handicap parking spot opened. Got in at 1:23. There were no driving carts available. Had to sit by the entrance (can't stand for more than about a minute without damaging muscles) for more than 10 minutes before a driving cart came available. By this time, the pharmacy had closed for lunch, and I had to wait almost half an hour to pick up my prescription. Not nearly enough handicap spots. Not nearly enough driving carts. I would have given them 0 stars, but that is not an option. Besides taking 24 hours to fill a prescription on a regular basis, there is always a huge line to be served. One of the Pharmacists is extremely rude and really seems to hate her job. Today, after receiving a text that my medication is ready to be picked up, I drove into Aberdeen. I live in Ocean Shores which takes a good 45 minutes to get to their Pharmacy (which according to their website opens at 10am). I arrived at 11:30am. IT WAS NOT OPEN. There were two young ladies sitting out front of the Pharmacy apologizing to folks and letting them know someone never made it to work and maybe they'll make it in by 2 pm hopefully. This is inexcusable! Had this been a life or death medication, we would be so screwed. I am looking to switch Pharmacies as soon as possible. I've just had enough. read more

Great customer service! One pharm tech in particular has saved us at least a hundred dollars finding manufactures discounts on multiple prescriptions. I like the text updates as well. Only draw back is location, finding a parking spot can be challenging and there is often a line, but that's anywhere. read more

Aberdeen Safeway is the worst pharmacy ever. They never ever answer the phone and long wait time and they are rude when you ask questions and cxled the prescriptions without evens tell you. They say they have it and will be ready and you stand in line for 35 mins to tell them ow we don't have it's it's cxled. or it's has expired.. Safeway you need to do better. Beware, the new pharmacist (African American man) and the old technician (Tammy) teamed up and began stealing pills from customers. The management and cooperate officers decided to do nothing but pretended to want to act. Tammy was still there but didn't see the Pharmacist so maybe he was fired but management offered no recourse for their customers' losses. read more

Ever since they have that woman pharmacist things have turned pretty awful there. The lines that you wait in are usually pretty slow moving. We miss previous management, that was a very friendly and personable pharmacist. People that can not give you the time of day to greet you when they come to the check out to counsel you, shouldn't be in public retail pharmacies. We had to transfer our business elsewhere. read more

I understand they don't have enough people to work here, but the managing pharmacist was what made me finally change pharmacies! I have looked past so many issues with this pharmacy because a couple of the pharmacists explained that they didn't have enough employees. I put up with having to call over & over & I was shocked when I first moved here because, at times, they don't even answer the phone! I have had to wait eight hours for a prescription. They rarely have my prescriptions ready, & I've read reviews from others that say the same. I asked a pharmacy employee about getting a vaccination & they rudely pointed at the front of the cash register & said "read the date & times." After that, I decided NOT to get my vaccinations there! They've told my caregiver that they are out of stock of a medication that can cause me to have seizures if I don't take it, then I'd call 2 minutes later, upset & they suddenly have it. They've said they were out of my heart medication & then suddenly had it not long after. On one occasion, I came in extremely sick after leaving the emergency room, needing to get an antibiotic filled & they told me they may not be able to fill it! I've waited in line for an hour. I've overlooked so much, but I finally changed pharmacies after calling several times & having to deal with the extremely unpleasant managing pharmacist! She told me my doctor cancelled my prescription, but couldn't tell me the date & of course, she wouldn't make any calls to help & wouldn't ever do anything else to help...she was just short with me & would sigh, take deep breaths & made it clear that having to answer questions was taking up time she just didn't have. This pharmacy is too bust to provide decent service, so I made sure they had one less customer because I have a lot of health issues & require many prescriptions, obviously they do not need the business! read more

I have picked up prescriptions several times. The lines are consistently long because they don't have sufficient staff to help customers. I have yet to have an employee who is actually pleasant and engaging. Their respond to me varies from indifference to being abrupt or rude. It seems like they have the volume to keep busy where they don't need to worry about what customers think and this has become their culture for dealing with customers. read more

Absolutely the worst experience in a Safeway I have experienced in years. Not only the staff but the customers are off the charts rude. I wanted to get some meat but the worker would not even move so as to allow me my 6 ft of distance so I ended up having to give up after excusing myself twice. Then a continued lack of accommodation or care continued until I just got what was in my cart and left. read more

I ordered my daughter a birthday cake here and it was beautiful. I very carefully put in in my car on a flat surface and proceeded to drive the four miles to where we were having her party. The cake was ruined. They put so much filling in between the layers that the top layer slid off of the cake. I was able to repair it somewhat (it still looked like crap) but my daughter was heartbroken. We still ate it and it tasted great. Just wish they had used a slightly lighter hand on the filling. read more

Below is what I attempted to send to Safeway through their message feature. Got information back about delivery services. The Safeway website should have easy DIRECT contact without going through a google account: "Starting this I was annoyed. Finding it difficult to contact through your website made me more annoyed. It should be in your banner. I'm not sure this is even read by anyone. First, I generally find Safeway a good place to shop. Tonight was the third time in a month that there were no hand carry baskets at the north entrance which requires a person to walk past all the checkout exits to the south entrance. Tonight around 5 the store wasn't even busy. Secondly, your website and the governors office says that masks are required. I saw two younger people shopping without masks. Could have been more but I was in and out. 99.9 % were wearing masks which means the mask less were being allowed to potentially infect the majority of the customers. At COSTCO no one is allowed without a mask or shield, if they have health issues. The two I saw were young and looked pretty healthy. Safeway needs to consider the health of the customers and employees and intercede. There appears to be a need for more proactive management in the evening to deal with the details. I don't say this as a criticism but as a neutral observer in what would improve your business model from a customers perspective. Providing good customer service is difficult and things happen but if you don't know about a problem then it persists. Thank you. read more

I am over 65, disabled, on Medicare, and have supplement insurance. I have shopped Safeway foods for years in several Washington Cities, until I moved to the Aberdeen Wa. area. I recently had a unfortunate "discrimination" complaint with Safeway's store policy outlined below. I must say the Store's personal are very friendly, as well as the managers although in my opinion very uninformed about Safeway's policies. Here is the post I sent on Feb 6, 2021 to the "non-discrimination" website for Albertsons (owner of Safeway Foods). On Feb 4'th 2021 I did transfer a prescription from Rite-Aid to Safeway pharmacy. When I arrived at the store I noticed on all the cash registers a running video ad featuring this pharmacy promo.   It clearly says "Get a $75.00 shopping spree if you open or transfer a prescription to Safeway Pharmacy. I was told by the pharmacy representative that I was not eligible since I was over 65 and used a Humana medicare insurance card to pay. This seemed to be clearly in violation to "Albertsons" Non-Discrimination policy posted here. https://www.albertsonscompanies.com/about-us/our-policies/notice-of-non-discrimination.html I talked to the pharmacy manager at the Aberdeen, Washington Store where I shopped under my Safeway account phone number.  He was very understanding and helpful, although had no real answers why Safeways policy is what it is.  He took my phone number name and receipt information to contact his district manager to have him call me and explain. I then contacted two of the assistant store managers, neither of which had much knowledge of the ad.  One did not know the ad was running on his own registers until I showed him. Here are my main concerns and complaints. 1. After 4 calls to your customer service number 877-723-3929 I never got a call back from your representative or managers over this issue. The last call made, I was told I probably won't get a call back since promotions are excluded from Medicare customers by store policies. 2. I truly believe your running ad is very misleading and has no disclaimers as to its limitations due to age or medicare insurance used.  The store managers also had no knowledge of the ad's limitations until they looked it up. 3. Which leads to my final complaint, over Aberdeen's store's policies based on that particular store's demographics. I have shopped in many Safeway stores and can clearly say this store has an unusually high number or elderly patrons (40 + percent), which makes no sense to display an ad that clearly discriminates against one of the store's primary shopping age groups based on age.   I can't be the only one that feels this way. read more

This is about the only place I shop. I use the pharmacy and its nice to have the people know my name and the sound of my voice (and I know theirs) when I call in for my refills. The deli has excellent mac and cheese. The little chickens are excellent for dinner. read more
