This is a nice store. They have everything that you need handed it very organized as well. I did self check out and it was very fast.

Best supermarket ever. Clean, organized, employees there always to answer my questions.

My husband and I were on a road trip from Seattle to Spokane for a wedding, We love the Safeway were we live and thought it would be a good thing to shop there. We were shopping and briefly went to get two separate aisles. I overheard on the speaker system that there was a spill on aisle 17. Approximately 15 minutes later I was on the aisle. I slipped and fell. It wasn't a bad fall but I was surprised there was not even a sign to warn you of the spill. I can understand being short staffed but the person that said there was a spill could have at least asked the manager to watch her station and put a sign up. When I left I told the employee in the self checking aisle about the spill and she assured me she would tell her manager. It wasn't a bad fall so I didn't feel the need to file an L&I claim. I feel this Safeway should teach employees to be properly trained and for them to be empowered to do the little things that promote safety. We won't be shopping there again. read more

Never again! Safeway used to be my go to store because it is close to my house. Not any more. Three times in a row (each time at a different check stand) the self check out would not accept my debit card. First it said chip malfunction. So I tried the magnetic strip. Then it said that I need to use the chip. So I used the chip again. Then it said that I needed to use the magnetic strip. At that time I walked away and left the cart of groceries sit. Including frozen items and ice cream. I do not have any problems with my card at any other store. Just Moses Lake Safeway. Will be buying ALL of my groceries at Winco or Leprekon. read more

Our family has been shopping at Safeway for 4 generations and I do not believe we have ever had a complaint. Until now, I have been fighting a serious ear infection from a procedure that was performed on the 6th. Since then, I have been back to see the Dermatologists, Urgent Care, and the ER every few days to open the wound and pain relief. On the 14th I dropped off a prescription for Hydrocodone and I sensed the Lead Pharmacist (Min) did not seem to care for the prescription. But it was filled without an issue. On Saturday the 15th I went to the ER due to extreme pain, the Dr. opened the wound and administered pain medication. He also changed all of the antibiotics and pain medicine that had been prescribed prior. I came into the pharmacy to drop off the prescription and pretty quickly Min came from around back, as he was walking toward the counter he asked if I had been here yesterday loudly enough for his coworkers and patrons nearby could hear. I thought this was odd, I handed him the prescription, then he made a head/eye roll jester and told me he could not fill the prescription until Monday. He asked about the previous prescription given for pain and I told him the Dr told me to stop taking it. Finally, I realized what was happening, he believed I am bouncing around though different doctors to get pain medication. At this point he could have done quite a few things that could have addressed his concerns, my green ear might be a tell tail sign, he could have called the doctor, or even law enforcement. Yesterday we moved all of our reoccurring prescriptions to another pharmacy and will no longer use the Safeway Pharmacy. read more

I am pretty regular at this location getting my fried chicken and I will say this. If you don't like your job then go find something else that suits you better. I came in for my 8 piece chicken today and as she's putting my chicken pieces into the bag she says to herself "Can't even make rice, Oh here it is now" just out random. I thought to myself where is the rice? I was kind of confused about the situation or what her intention was for a moment. There wasn't anyone next to her and I was in front of her so that was obvious that it was about me as I was only Asian near there. I found it very racist. I wouldn't trust someone like this handing any food. I understand you guys got busy lately but please don't lose yourself at work. Deserves 0 star but giving 1 stars because I like their fried chicken in reasonable price. read more

I have been shopping Safeway online about 6 - 8 times per month with delivery. They used to have the current weekly ad and the ad for the following week on their site. They have removed the following weeks ad recently. This is a poor decision in my opinion. Additionally they recently quit bringing you a printed itemized receipt. If you want a receipt you can get in your email but then I have to print my own receipt. I keep my receipts for tax purposes. Now I have to log into my computer to check my receipt for errors and there have been some AND I have to print my own receipt. The paper and the ink is at my expenses now. Another bad decisions. I spend several hundred dollars at Safeway each month. Now they can't provide me with a receipt. I may rethink ordering/buying my groceries from Safeway. One of the reasons I shop Safeway is for their reward fuel points so I can save money on my gas. I recently discovered that someone on the other side of the state was able to use 1000 points for a discount of $1.00 a gallon from my account. This was an unauthorized purchase by a random person. I don't know how they were able to do this other than trying random phone numbers at the pump. That would take quite some time. I did call Safeway customer service and they could see the gas station location were the fuel points were used 200 miles from my home. I did check Google to see if this type of issue had been reported by others and it has been a problem. Now I have to monitor my Safeway rewards account to monitor my point usage. They will need to change this system to require a PIN if this continues to be a problem and they begin losing money because people can't trust the reward system. read more

We just moved here from Wenatchee where I shopped at the Albertsons store. It was a great store, even with a small bakery it was always well stocked and you could always count on the Friday special in the bakery and rest of the store available no matter what time you went there. This Safeway in Moses Lake is a joke! We have gone the last two Fridays to pick up the Friday specials and other items in the ad only to find all the Friday specials gone and only two items in the ad.....We will not shop there any longer and will look for another store to take our business to! I have to say the employees were not at all friendly, even the young woman at the Starbucks stand was to busy talking to an employee who came after me for water and the drink ordered by me was not good! Ok, they've stepped up in my opinion. Before WinCo came, Safeway was a rough experience with long lines and really just the worst prices. Well the prices are still high, but the lines are much smaller now. They put in a sushi bar which i am really impressed with. They're not sumo, but they are quick and quite good. Their produce selection is better and they're meats are good. It's pricier but i think the price goes with a less messy and hectic shopping experience. read more

Pharmacy service is excruciatingly slow, some of the people working in the pharmacy are rather short tempered and rude. Will not call out when your rx is ready, even if you're sitting and waiting for it--they won't tell you if it's done, just demand you check back with them periodically, despite your presence in their waiting room. They frequently appear to be short-staffed, creating short-tempered staff and long waits for customers. I have waited in line for greater than 30 minutes on some days, even with only a couple of people ahead of me. If you can avoid this pharmacy, you probably should, especially if you are on any kind of deadline. read more

I've been providing services through Instacart for over 3 years now mostly in the greater Seattle area until recently when family matters have kept me in Moses Lake on more consistent basis. There is no store throughout the last 3 years that has been more hospitable or excited me more to walk in to. I would like to give special props to the produce department who is probably more important than any other department based on what matters most to customers In quality. They are incredible! Meat department, extremely attentive and aware of how valuable my time is. I would like to give special props to Erin one of the managers who is an absolute joy every time she's there. If the store was based entirely on her personality and energy I think the store would have better ratings. All in all thank you to all for what the store does for my business. read more

I was shopping an Instacart order for a customer at Safeway in Moses Lake. It was probably over $200 worth of groceries in the order of more than 30 items, complete with carefully selected organic fruits and vegetables, and about a metric ton of water. I was nearing the end of the list, I was hot and tired from pushing the heavy cart around, and left the cart with my jacket, wallet, keys, and my Instacart shopper bags for just about 5 minutes near the front registers to grab items for the rest of the order. I went back and found the cart gone, and I was freaking out thinking I had forgotten where I had left the cart. I asked an employee, they pointed me to the cart with my personal items still in it, but all the produce and cold items were gone. I got so frustrated that I had to drop the order. The cashier in front did not care, as she was the one who made the call. read more

It would appear that the Safeway pharmacy is intentionally stalling out people's prescriptions so that they will shop in the store. A prescription that was supposed to be ready on Wednesday, and for which I had received notification on Thursday, was still not ready on Friday. If they think that I'm going to spend those 15 minutes waiting for my prescription in Safeway, they are sadly mistaken. I'm driving to WinCo. I will also be transferring all of my prescriptions the next time they come in. This is ridiculous. read more

I am fairly new to Moses Lake and find Safeway high on my list of local stores. I find the clerks very friendly and helpful. The pharmacy is especially helpful and go out of their way to make sure you get the right prescription when you need it. read more

Every time I know I have to shop here, I have to steel myself for frustration. I'm not a fan of the Safeway and affiliated corporation because of bad experiences at Carrs and Albertsons in other places, but when we moved to ML, I was happy to have a non-Wally world option. The slow checkers and an inventory that doesn't match my preferences was one thing. I can order online. The problems with self-checkout that also made things slow was one more thing. It was still faster to do it myself, so I dealt with it. Then they freaking took out the self-checkers and replaced them with more lanes but, apparently, they didn't think to hire BEFORE this. So the wait is interminable. It's absolutely impossible to make a quick stop here. As if I needed any more reason to dislike this place, their roasted chickens and turkeys, a staple for me when I don't want to cook, are really blah. I had to return a turkey once because it was as dry as a bone. Do I still shop here? Yes. Their organic produce is the best choice, given my limited options elsewhere. But I'm never happy about it. I sure hope the new grocery store opening is a better place to shop, so I never have to come here again. read more

I went to Safeway today for a few groceries. I specially wanted to buy a head of lettuce. In all my years I have never seen a more disgusting display of lettuce. Every head of lettuce was enclosed in a plastic bag where you could see a large amount of browning on each head. What really bothered me was how a number of them had a noticeable amount of brown liquid collecting in the bags. Then there were some that did not have any liquid but a brown like paste covering areas of the plastic bag. To give Safeway some credit when I suggested to an employee they might want to check out the lettuce. It didn't take them long before they pulled all the lettuce. read more

Needs improvement. There's not much choice for shopping in the area and Safeway seems to know this by taking advantage of customers and avoids making changes to improve the shopping experience. This is a very busy store and it's not unusual for long lines when checking out, yet rarely are all check stands open. Usually the self check out lines are backed up with some out of order. The parking is tight, crowded and dangerous. Foot traffic to and from the store causes traffic to backup into the main streets. Add a self service gas station in the corner and lot turns into a cluster F at times. For the true business of a grocery store it's not bad and I shop here regularly. For a small store they manage to cram a Starbucks, Deli, bakery, meat dept. into the space with a decent selection of products. It will be interesting to see how the Winco coming to town will effect business here. And if Safeway will step up to make logical and needed improvements to compete. read more

The pharmacy staff is horrible at night. They are so rude and just don't care. I was going to have to wait for my meds 2 hrs and needed it right away. I called Walgreens and there was a 15 min wait. I had Walgreens transfer the script but Safeway lies and said they didn't have it then filled it anyway. It's sad because the day staff are much nicer and much more honest. read more

It's better than Walmart and a whole lot less crowded. People their are actually nice. The prices are a little higher but to avoid the headache of Walmart, I would recommend it. There Gas station is crowded during mid day and right after work but the discount that you get with your club card is worth it. The place is kept clean and the people working there are nice. read more

Safeway is one of my least favorite places to shop. Over all the store isn't bad employees are ok. The deli specifically is the absolute worst. In passing I can hear complaining and fighting amongst employees. Alone with seeing questionable food handling I refuse to buy or eat anything from there. read more

I went into Safeway on Friday 7/3 and 1/3 of the customers were not wearing a mask thats required indoors and some were vocal about not wearing one. Safeway was not enforcing the mask wearing in their store. All the managers were clustered in a group watching customers not wearing masks but were too scared to do anything. Time to dump Safeway. I cant believe people can be so STUPID!!! Nobody Is losing their freedom or liberties we enjoy as Americans. All that is being asked is to wear masks indoor where you cannot social distance. Not a whole lot to ask to get thru this pandemic. I just don't understand why people try to do just the opposite of that they are asked. If anyone thinks this is political they need to reevaluate the situation. Wear masks to get through this pandemic and then get on with our lives. Too bad our society has gotten so me myself and I oriented. Wear a mask and dont shop Safeway until they make customers comply. read more

This Pharmacy is soooo frustrating!! Their phone system that lets you know your rx is ready is constantly wrong. This last time I received 3 calls that my rx was ready for pick up. And guess what?? This is purely speaking of the pharmacy. Do you have medication that you NEED to take and cant afford to miss? Then go to ANY other pharmacies in town. 4 of the last 5 times I came in a full 24 hours AFTER I was told my prescription would be ready, and each time I was told it wasn't ready. So, if you like being lied to about wait times and having to make multiple trips to the store to pick up one thing, by all means, go to Safeway. Otherwise, safe yourself a headache and loads of frustration by going to literally anywhere else. Order your pills off a shady website, sneak into Mexico and buy them, even go to the filth pit known as Wal Mart, but avoid this pharmacy like the plague. Your ailment has a better chance of curing itself than Safeway having your prescription ready even just a few hours late. I could probably become a doctor, diagnose myself, prescribe myself medication, and pick it up at another pharmacy before this place gets it ready for me. To Safeway: Please, for the love of God, if you are CONSTANTLY waaaaay wrong with your wait times and are perpetually backed up, maybe hire more people? Or people who can do an adequate job? This is not acceptable to make people go without their prescriptions because you can seriously NEVER even get close to making your own deadlines. You've lost this customer for life. read more

I ended up leaving this store due to the pharmacy. They lost my refill then preceded to ask that I come back the next day only to also not have it done then. Had to come back the day after. It shouldn't take three days to fill a prescription. The lines in the store itself have been incredibly long. They took out the self scanners and now there isn't enough people to handle the large volume. Winco is better. read more

I'm so glad that Moses Lake has a Safeway. Not only do they have a much better selection of fresh produce than Wal-Mart, but they also have an amazing bakery department. Not to mention, they have one of the best prices on gas in the area. read more

Ugh. They took out the self checkouts...which, don't get me wrong, were FAR from perfect...and replaced them with regular "express" checkouts....that they don't staff. You may as well go to Walmart, because Safeway never has more than 3-4 lanes open and the lines are horrendous and block the entire main aisle up front most of the time. They are either too cheap to staff their shifts appropriately, or they don't have enough staff to run their cash registers. Either way, they have completely eliminated the "quick trip in for milk & something for dinner" after work. There are just too many other places in this town to stop in real quick for a few random things. read more

The customer service/manager rep lied to me when she told me that the bank decides whether my card is used as credit or debit. There is only one button on the check out for credit/debit and the debit did not come up as an option. I went directly to the bank and they said, no it must be a problem with Safeway.... read more

So here is my comment: The people they have working in the deli are by far the worst trained folks I have ever seen. They don't wait on customers promptly, they don't know their products, they have trouble understanding what the differences between 1/4, 1/2 and 1 lb and instead of stocking cheese in the case they seem to walk around behind the cases as if bewildered by the environment. When they finally do get around to asking you what you want, it takes an interminably long time to get and process the order no matter how small or large. So I understand. that in effect, they are one of the only game in town; but don't you think they should do their best and not provide their worst. I think that the Albertson's group which includes this Safeway should wake up and smell the roses and start endeavoring to be the best they can be in Moses Lake and not take the community for granted.
