My visit was on 6/11/2020, I had a wonderful experience in the deli department with Steph, she was very polite and greeted my roommate and I. She was cheerful and had a smile. Usually the help seems frazzled and not always happy but Steph really brought on the guest service this day. My roommate had a couple packages of Safeway Select summer sausage that they wanted sliced and Steph happily sliced after purchase. It was a bit difficult due to keeping the protective layer on and it took her a little time to slice both but she was patient and also acknowledged a waiting guest, which I like employees to do. It makes the wait better as a customer. So top notch deli service today at the meat and cheese counter!

I ordered two cakes for a birthday event. When I got to the location and opened the box, the frosting had fallen off a third of the round cake. It was a cool day and the frosting did not melt, it just did not adhere properly to the cake. Some of the frosting also fell off the sheet cake, but that happened later in the event after we already had cut into the cake, so it wasn't a huge deal. I did go back and talk to a store manager and while she was sympathetic, it was obvious she didn't really care and didn't offer to make things right. I will not be back.

This is one of the Safeway's that's relatively close to where I live. Not the closest, but not too far to make me complain about driving to it. Let me just start off by adding to what Nancy C. said. If this Safeway is one of the more recently remodeled Safeway's it sure as heck doesn't look like it. The brick exterior is not working & ugly to look at. On to the review of the store however. I usually come here when I'm making small grocery trips. That'll change once they build the Safeway gas station that's planned for this location. I usually am able to pretty much find what I need without a problem. The aisles are pretty big for a Safeway. They have a huge produce section FYI. You'll find what you need here. The deals are pretty good if you have a Safeway card. It's free to sign up for one, so it's totally on you if you're not taking advantage as a consumer. Service is friendly. I wouldn't call it speedy. It's just average. The store is kept clean. Parking isn't a problem, because the parking lot is huge. FYI: As of 7-8-11 the area that the Safeway gas station will be located in has been fenced off, along with markings, etc on the ground. Construction is about to start on it. Yesss!! This is great seeing as how areas like Auburn, Kent, Seattle, Shoreline, etc have at least one Safeway gas & Federal Way has zero! This will be the first. Finally I won't have to drive so far for gas. Enjoy when it arrives people!

The employees are consistently friendly, and the food is always fresh. We especially love their yogurt selection and all the fun snacks we always bring back home to Hawaii whenever we visit. I also wanted to give a special thank you to Felicia, who truly went above and beyond for my daughter, Chlea. We had been trying for a while to get one of the limited summer mini tote bags, but every time we came in, they were already sold out. One day we met Felicia, and after hearing about it, she kindly told my daughter she would try to save one for her. As a busy mom with a toddler, it took us several days before we could make it back to the store. What amazed me was that Felicia actually remembered us. She had even written Chlea's name on the bag she had set aside. The smile on my daughter's face when she finally received it was absolutely priceless. It wasn't just about the bag. It was the kindness, thoughtfulness, and genuine care that Felicia showed. Moments like that leave a lasting impression, especially on a child. Thank you, Felicia, for making our visit so special. Team members like you are a big reason why we love shopping at Trader Joe's. We truly appreciate your kindness, and we'll always remember this experience. If someone in the barangay is walking around with one, they know it came from the US. That's how strong consumer influence is. The tote bag line tends to be longer in Federal Way and Kent. This is not surprising since Filipinos have lived in the south end (Algona, Auburn, and Kent) since the early 1900s. The community has grown since then. Everyone has a reason for standing in line. The bag drops are cultural moments. It's someone is sacrificing their time for the elders. It's a reunion of friends and family. It's having conversations with strangers. It's a social event. I've witnessed it, experienced it, and embraced it. The two employees managed the mini tote bag distribution pretty well. An excited ajumma tried to grab the bags Black Friday style. The first employee went into linebacker mode and protected the bags but also themselves. The secondary employee politely and respectfully spoke with the customer in their native language. I'm guessing the conversation was about the process because the customer paused and listened to him attentively. I'm surprised there isn't a TJ's in Renton or Southcenter. Just like in football, this is a missed opportunity. If I were living in a state or country that didn't have a TJ's, I'd do a shopping haul before getting on the plane at Sea-Tac.

It's just okay here unless you come for the cheap fuel and use your reward card (any Kroger issued…read morereward card that gets you fuel points) City Market, Kind Sooper, Kroger, Fred Meyer, QFC and there are others from out of state. I've found the only thing a good deal here is the Chocolate Milk that I've posted in the photos for this profile. First one is $1.99 but the bottle return with a replacement purchase ends up being $1.95 so you only pay .05 cents for the next round of this delicious drink. Outside of the choco-milk, they charge a little more overall then if you were to hit their sister Kroger store Fred Meyer, so I will do most of my normal shopping at F/M. This store is clean. It's not a very large store, but it's good enough to serve the Northshore neighboring community. I've found their staff to be friendly except one guy in the hot deli department. One of my visits he came off rather abrupt and rude but everyone else was nice, so maybe he was having a bad day. I haven't seen him in a while. I'll be back!

I went shopping at Valley Harvest Foods on Military Road in Auburn and noticed the Mexican…read morerestaurant inside the market with a casual appeal, a fairly decent dining area and a cafeteria-style counter. The service was friendly. After checking out their salsa bar, we took a chance and ordered the Chile Rellenos, a 3 Taco Combination Plate with Asada, Pollo, and Pastor, along with Chips and Salsa and a Piña drink. Their food reminded me of a family-run restaurant with authentic street food taste. The chips and salsa were fresh and made a great starter. The salsa was flavorful. They don't pull back on the heat which is perfect. We also tried the Piña drink, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The Chile Rellenos did not disappoint. The pepper was tender, good amount of cheese filling and their tomato sauce paired well. The 3 Taco Combination Plate was the highlight of the meal. The meats were flavorful, the rice and beans was traditional and everything paired well with the salsa from the bar. I was so impressed with their table side service. This is truly a hidden gem and the prices are on par with other area restaurants. I definitely enjoyed the experience which was amplified with a World Cup football game on TV, a small cheering squad and would highly recommend this spot.
