This is a game changer for me. I absolutely do not like grocery shopping and dealing with long lines. This place is a life saver and a stress reliever all in one. I never visited the store but I do use delivery services very often! I love the thoughtfulness in how my groceries are packed. Amazon really looks out for you. Who approved of selling this soup?does nobody taste test or is there no quality control? It is disgusting. We picked up a medium broccoli soup yesterday around 5pm. My boyfriend was looking forward to it because of jaw pains. IT WAS HORRID.. Like one spoon can make you go straight to the bathroom. It's sour, off flavor, unseasoned. I don't even know how to fully describe the disappointment. All in all, it makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. Whether the flavor is from expired milk, cross contamination, or just straight no skills. Whatever it may be, I'd skip on the soups, save your stomach from the drama. read more

This was my first time going into one of Amazon's stalking shops. The concept is very simple: scan your app, the cameras watch your every move, and you walk out. It was easier said than done. My Go app? Suddenly decided that there was no network connectivity and refused to work. The employee told me that I could also use my shopping app. There's a known bug and it won't open. Do I have my Amazon payment card on me? Why yes, yes I do!! I scanned my credit card at the door and that was enough to make the system happy. Store is a little more...depressing(?) than I expected. Produce is first. Overall good selection, but the quality really left a lot to be desired. Several 365 products throughout the store and I was happy to find some of my favourite snacks! In a lot of ways this store is like a Whole Foods lite. It has a lot of similar items and the 365 line (well, selections of 365), but it'll never act as a substitute for a Whole Foods. Check prices! There are definitely deals to be had here and I found some really low prices on a few items. Overall, I'd say most of the things I looked at were higher than other stores. Some of which were significantly higher and you'd be better off going to Whole Foods. Checkout was easy. I scanned my credit card again, had my "guest" walkout in front of me, and quickly received an e-mail stating that my trip has been ended and they're working on my receipt. It took around 4 hours to get that receipt, but it was 100% accurate. That being said: I didn't test the system and was very, very careful to only touch things I wanted to buy. However, one of the items was wayyy in the back of the freezer and it registered that just fine, so it seems like things are working pretty well. Love the novelty, I'd be okay with more stores using this concept, but it really needs a better selection and better prices. read more

Unbelievable 1 Star reviews. SMH. Simply ridiculous. Smells like political pushback to me. Folks rely on real reviews. Please be reasonable. If you want to Bezos bash, do it somewhere else. Please keep it real. My experience at this location has been nothing but excellent over the two plus years I have shopped or used the package pickup/return. If you don't want to use the self checkout, don't! I love the high-tech shopping carts and not needing to stop to checkout. The staff has always been helpful, and at least they have staff. EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT IN A STORE - Cleaner than any other store, no drug addicts or homeless people greeting you as you go in, it allows you to buy groceries with cash or card but why would you. If you are already on Amazon, this really is no different they just use your same info from there. Good selection, surprisingly good deals in certain items, select premium items available, and the grab and go or buffet items are refreshingly affordable and generally good quality. Don't be fooled by people apprehensive of the concept or unrelated issues they blame the store for. You will not find a better store in Federal Way for mid to high tier items at this quality and price. And I personally really appreciate the lack of homeless folks here. Yes that's a real issue all over Federal Way and yes its not always their fault and we need to do more to help them, and no I am not saying we brush that issue under the rug. I was steered into Amazon Fresh this week to complete a return and ended up doing some grocery shopping while I was there. I found items I can't usually find elsewhere (like at Safeway and Target), including Cape Cod potato chips and dark chocolate M&Ms. Even my mini coca colas are hit and miss at Target but I found them here! The fresh food was a little picked over, but I did find these amazing brookie cookies I will be going back for again (and again)! They are tasty and so soft, half cookie and half brownie. Find them in the fresh baked goods section. I also was able to set up my palm reader but that feature wasn't working in the store the day I was there. My Amazon account did link at check out, making paying easier, and a receipt showed up in my Amazon app. The food pricing is interesting and seems like more of a psychological ploy than a true savings (the stickers say a price, then an Amazon Fresh price a bit lower), I'm not sure I'm "saving" any money shopping here But I'd come back for the rare foods... and the brookies read more

The customer service here was terrible. People having long elaborate conversations and don't care about what's going on. Spoiled food on the shelves, my blueberries had mold on them and were squishy and old. Had to wait in a long line for customer service alongside the Amazon returns. Amazon returns were more important than me returning food I couldn't eat for my lunch because of mold. Cashier Didn't offer a bag or to bag my food Other cashier rung up my food with someone else's groceries. This was the longest most ridiculous food trip ever. It looks nice on the inside but this place is building a bad reputation. They should hire some better people. Pretty nice addition to South King County. Bigger than a convenience store but smaller than a QFC or Safeway, it offers a good selection of things. Prices are all over the map. I'm done buying through Fresh delivery. They now charge for deliveries unless you order a ton of stuff, and even the prepackaged stuff is sketchy. We ordered some Buitoni fresh pasta and some of the pasta was moldy! In the past we had to throw out a package of bacon because it looked like it was off, a red bell pepper that had a rotten spot on it, boxed stuff like hamburger helper that had damaged packaging. Quality control must be inexistent there. We are done. read more

Amazon Fresh at the Commons Mall (west end) is great! First visit to pick up an order from Amazon. Decided to use this location as a pick up for the product ordered from Amazon. Upon entering, I was greeted by a female worker with a big smile on her face as she welcomed me to the store. I told her this was my first visit and was there to pick an order up. She directed me to the customer service area where I met Keta & Serita (sp?) who also pleasantly greeted me. I'm definitely not an IT tech, so Keta proceeded to assist me with while using my phone to locate the barcode needed to authenticate the order and she assisted me with a return item at the same time. After returning the item purchased, she then directed me to the storage lockers where I could pick up my purchase after applying the proper bar code. Locker popped open and I was on my way out. I got stuck at the exit gates as I didn't know how to use the scanners. After several attempts, I decided to walk over to one of the staffed registers where the individual working there told me I could just walk out. Didn't take any photos, but the store is huge. Anyone who's lived in the area for a while should remember the old Sears store that previously occupied the space, and Amazon Fresh takes up the entire floor. I will definitely return to try out all the electronic gadgetry, availability of products and prices. Great addition to the Commons Mall and the Federal Way area. We are so sad to hear this! They had the best fruit and vegetables in Federal Way. We did not find out til my husband went today. :-( Will they be reopening somewhere else? I did not return that many items from Amazon, but it was so handy to do it here! It will be hard to replace their breadth of groceries, too! So disappointed this location is closing. Amazon Fresh in Federal Way was my go to for affordable groceries and easy Amazon returns. The prices, quality, and convenience can't be replaced by any other store nearby. So many of us relied on this place, it's heartbreaking to see it go. I really hope they build another one so I don't have to stop going here altogether. I already reached out to Amazon and I recommend everyone else do the same. That being said, one negative thing I will point out is that they advertise their hours as 7 AM to 9 PM and I showed up at 7:30 PM and was denied service by the security guard because they (him and the other security guards) would "have to stay too late" if they let me in since there is a 60% going out of business sale. As someone who works in customer service , this is extremely unprofessional. I drove out of my way to get to the store just to be denied service because security didn't want to do their job. I really hope that they add another location somewhere down south such as Fife, Tacoma or Auburn, considering that they have two locations near Seattle, and that is an extremely far drive for most of us who live south. read more

I've been a few times, usually when I have a return and want to kill time. They do give out coupons when you drop off a return. The $5 flowers are a good deal. The deli pizza is pretty good and the salad bar is a good choice if you want a good salad bar- it's not as big as whole foods but it's comparable . I'm not sure how to rate them. I'm a bit disappointed because I have EBT but have a difficult time finding certain foods to be covered. Or they don't deliver and directed that I can pick them up. I might as well not bother ordering and drive there myself. It's a bit far for me, so delivery would be nice. Went today to take advantage of the specials advertised in the circular that arrived in the mail this week. Starting date was today. They were out of stock on almost everything I wanted to get including the Butterball Turkeys for $.49/lb, Pat LaFrieda Rib Roast for $7.99lb, red potatoes for $.99 a bag, Brussels Sprouts 2lbs for $3. We bought a few things and drove over to Winco to buy the stuff we wanted. The only good buy was for strawberries. Checkoutless purchasing is not much help if you then have to go to another store to find what you want. I will think twice about returning. read more

This is an interesting concept that has not arrived to Canada so I made a point to visit. Store was clean and fairly deserted. I did not see many customers. I saw more staff instead. Some of the prices were good while other prices were expensive. There was still one cashier working at the register. I assume if you did not have the app, you can still shop there. read more

I wanted to really love the store. The novelty of being able to go and get your stuff, and walk out just by scanning your app is so neat! But for being the first week open, I would expect things to be a little more stocked. We got some groceries and noticed the prices are way more than other local grocery stores. We got some deli items as well including sushi and a sandwich. The sushi was good, tasted fresh. The sandwich looked really delicious, but it was just mediocre. Overall, if I was in the neighborhood, I would go back in. But this will not be one of my normal stops. read more

On a scale of 1-10, I give it a meh. Nothing great, nothing awful, just a not very interesting grocery store with the same not very interesting products as any other grocery store, and definitely fewer of them. There was just nothing there that would entice me away from my usual neighborhood stores. Better selection at Fred Meyer or Safeway, better prices at Winco, better and more interesting products at Trader Joe's or Marlene's. I get they're doing a soft opening, but wow what a cluster$&*%. I tried this place yesterday, solely because I received a $10 off coupon if I spent $20 or more. I chose 4 items (only 4 items!!) and scanned my app when I left the store. Prior to scanning an attendant scanned a coupon to give me the discount. But 12 hours later when I finally got the e receipt, I discovered that the coupon had not been applied and that, for the six pack of beer I had selected, I'd been charged the price of a 12 pack. The concept behind the store is pretty neat, and it's in a really convenient location. The scan to enter and just walk out "checkout" is a little disorienting at first, but it's incredibly convenient. It's really nice not having to wait in line to checkout! It feels like you're stealing groceries at first until you receive your receipt later. We got our receipt maybe 4-5 hours later, so don't expect it to be immediately upon leaving! read more

I also liked the Easy check in and out without any hassles .... It especially felt good to not have a store person stop you to check for theft . Amazon tracks everything I'm ok with that . Picked up my Amazon fresh order. Employee asked for me name before giving it. Got all the bags in the car, and when I came home none of the groceries were mine, and the name was someone else's. Tried calling the store to tell them, and get this fixed so I can get my groceries, but all that happens when I call is I get put into a waiting room and nothing else happens. I love Amazon, but I HIGHLY disappointed by the Amazon Fresh store. Their prices are SKY HIGH, which is shocking considering how cheap things are for everything else on Amazon.com. We love this store. It may be a new concept and you have to figure out how it all works, but it's worth it. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Clean store, clean bathrooms and easy parking. It may not have a million items on the shelves like another store, but it has the most beautiful and fresh produce, and their weekly deli specials ( Fantastic pizzas) are tasty. The meat and seafood area is well stocked with resonable prices. We are weekly shoppers and enjoy it. read more
