We had a very positive experience with Safeway Driving School. Both the instructors we had train our daughter were professional and the instruction was excellent. My daughter passed her driving exam at the DMV [Flamingo Location] earlier today and did very well per the DMV evaluator. No stars! If i could!! My son was scheduled for a driving class in 2023, the class wad canceled on him due to the lack of students. I requested for a refund up to now over a year laterI have not received a refund. Both Cathy and Sherri keep on telling me it will be processed every time I call. I spoke to Cathy again im November promising me a check. Its December already - no check. They make excuses on why it has not been processed yet. Very disappointed!!! Dont trust them!! read more

I am extremely disappointed with the experience my son and I had with this driving school. We purchased 5 two-hour behind-the-wheel lessons, and the service we received was far from acceptable. Our lessons were originally scheduled for September 19th, 20th, 24th, 25th, and 26th from 12 PM to 2 PM. * On September 19th, the instructor didn't arrive until 1:34 PM * The lesson on the 20th went as planned. * On the 24th, no one showed up by 12:15 PM, so my son called the school, and they said the driver was having issues at the DMV and would need to reschedule for Friday, September 27th. * When I called on the 27th, I was told we had to reschedule again for October 3rd, 4th, and 5th, due to the same DMV issues. Fast forward to October 3rd: Once again, no one showed up by 12 PM. I called at 12:31 PM, and they claimed they had informed my son last week that the driver had a virus and couldn't make it. This was completely false, as I spoke to them last week, and they never mentioned a virus--only DMV issues. This entire experience has been a complete hassle, filled with delays, excuses, and poor communication. I requested a refund on 10/03 but have yet to receive it despite following up with email. The lady I spoke with said she would leave a note for the owner but have not heard back. The next step will be to dispute the charges with my bank as they did not provide the service we paid for. I cannot recommend this driving school to anyone--it has been a waste of time and money. read more

The teachers and BTW instructors are fine. My problem is with scheduling the behind the wheels. There is never availability online for any area remotely near where we live. When you call to schedule, you are scheduled 2 months out at least a 30 min. drive from your home. I had so much trouble scheduling my daughter I didn't get it done within a year, and even though I had already paid in full, had to pay an additional $50 to extend the contract. When I called I was often sent to voicemail and rarely ever got a call back. Terrible management and customer service. read more

When it comes to language issues, as English is not my first language, he always has a way to make me understand my issues, such as demonstration teaching, such as driving to a roundabout, or showing me special traffic rules, teaching in a way that is easy to remember and understand. I once had an instructor who barked at me during practice sessions before this school. As a result, I, who used to drive, became unable to operate the vehicle. So I switched to Safeway Driving School, met the most helpful instructor Corey, and got my license in one test. There is so much to consider when choosing a school and an instructor. read more

I was able to get my license in just 2 attempts! Thanks to Corey Avis. He definitely made sure you learned everything when it came to everything you needed to know about how to drive PROPERLY. Especially with terrible drivers. I am sure the other instructors are just as good. The receptionist, Cathy was kind and was able to help me schedule an appointment. It's also the cheapest behind-the-wheel training you could get here in Vegas. If you do 6 hours behind the wheel, you could earn a certificate of completion for a possible insurance discount. I have had upwards of 10 lessons with Safeway driving school. And i cannot say i regret anything. My instructor, Corey Avis, an excellant Teacher. He doesn't make the lessons dull, it makes it enjoyable to learn. And i find that wonderful because i find myself looking forwards to every lesson simply because i enjoyed learning how to drive. Soon, i am about to take my drivers test and honestly i can say with confidence that as long as my nerves does not get the better of me, i can pass the test with a 90 or higher. 100% recommend Safeway Driving. My grandson was told by his instructor they were doing the freeway on his last day of instructions. When the day came, car they were using had a tire problem and my grandson said they went to get another car but could not find the keys. So the instructor just stayed in the side streets to finish the lesson. When I called the office to complain, , the person at the office lied to me. She said that the instructor's notes said that my grandson was not ready for the freeway and that it was not part of their curriculum. But it was actually the tire problem that prevented them to do the freeway. The instructor should have cut the lesson short and just postponed it to another day when the car was ready for the freeway. read more

The driving instructor helped me out a lot did my first and only lesson with the them learned all of the basics and everything I needed to take my test back in August. And I passed with a 85% thanks to what I learned with the instructor these guys are the real deal and will teach you everything you need to know to get you prepared for driving. read more

I am currently trying to get my drivers license and I have bad anxiety but with the help from my instructor Cory all that went away. Cory is a great instructor he tells you any/everything you need to know about the road and tricks that help while driving, he made me feel very comfortable behind the wheel. Cory has also taught me things I haven't considered while driving as well. He gives his honest opinion about how many classes he thinks you should take and how well you're doing. Originally had a driving lesson on Wednesday with Tammy at 9 am, 30 mins passed and no one showed up. Called the school to let them know and they said they switched my lesson to another time without informing me. The person who I spoke to said they had called but never left a voicemail to let me know about the change...she said that doesn't make "sense" confused as to what? I then had my lesson rescheduled with someone different the same day. My instructor was Bruce and he was great I felt really comfortable driving with him and gave great tips. I'm giving one star though because they need to get their stuff together...if you call someone you need to leave a message so they know about "rescheduling" very unprofessional read more

We highly recommend Safeway Driving School. In the last four years, we have used it with both our kids. We used the hands on driving instruction service. Both instructors were professional, friendly, timely, thorough with instruction, and very helpful with useful tips. Most recently, my son had Danny as an instructor. The owner Kathy is RUDE. She also doesnt show up till 11am for her 9am classes. Kids just sit and learn nothing. She debates with them about why cops are right for shooting people. I believe she is racist. My daughter had a cough(was wearing a mask) and seasonal allergies/asthma. She forced her to go home, and then lied and said my daughter asked! She also said how dare I as a mother send her there(negative covid/flu, no fever) in front of the entire class. You arent getting your monies worth here. She will send your kid home with a sneeze and give you no refund. read more

Kathy is very rude I called to ask about driving lessons on my first call she told me they don't offer manual transmission lessons I thanked her and said ok.I received a call from her later but because I was calling around different schools I didn't remember we had already spoken so I asked the same question.She responded very rude to me when she was the one that called me.Totally unacceptable treat people with respect!!!Do not use this place Iam sure there are a lot more other schools with pleasant people. read more

I have always feared putting young teens behind the wheel of a car. When it came time for our family to need driving services we chose the classroom to help with the DMV written test and chose the driving school to come to our house. The written test took four try's after finishing the classroom as the DMV is constantly changing the questions on the written test. In 8 sessions of driving behind the wheel I have seen my daughters confidence increase and she is driving really well now.I am confident that she will pass her driving test with all the training they have provided her. The instructors we have had all are very nice and knowledgeable all of them are patient, professional and offer encouragement with suggestions to improve performance. Should have done this sooner but Just wanted to say that this Dricing school is great. For my son's 15th birthday I told everyone to get him gift certs to this Driving school....yes they have gift certs!!! We got enough to get him 6hrs of instruction and the 30 hour Class required by DMV. I was very impressed by what he learned! He got 100% on the driving part of his test and the person who gave him his test asked who taught him to drive beacause he did so well. I enrolled for 10 hr driving lessons. I had very little behind the experience. I was lucky to have Mr. Sam Llyod who is the best driving instructor in Vegas. He taught me all the tricks and tips to pass the test. A knowledgeble and very patient teacher. We drove around flamingo,downtown and freeways. Did parallel parking practice for a day. I practiced my own for 2 weeks and passed today. Strongly recommended. read more
