This pharmacy started out being really good to me and I'd give them 5 stars. But the new manager is hateful and judgemental. Refusing to fill meds I've been on for nearly 10 years, insisting she speaks to my doctor personally. My doctor took time out of his day to call and verify my Rx with the pharmacist on call. This all started on a Saturday. It's now Tuesday. This is an anxiety medication. 5 days without it, I'm having withdrawals and my blood pressure is 240/118 ... SHAME ON HER! I fight multiple autoimmune diseases that have no cure. My situation is unique in the conditions I fight. I've NEVER in the 9 years I've Had to take these meds, had a pharmacists flat refuses to give me my meds. Refil was due, they had approval for refil, but refused me medicine I NEED. I'm reporting her for unethical practices as this is completely unacceptable. Liza , grow some compassion. Your customers are your patients and they deserve quality care from every member of their healthcare team, including your pharmacy. Don't bother. If you require a controlled substance she will decide if you can have it or not, your doctor has no say here. Go somewhere else avoid the headache and stress... That woman doesn't deserve the revenue in her store. She doesn't provide quality care to her patients. She chooses to be judgemental, and mean. Make sure you check your receipts for sale prices being honored. They like to leave sale stickers on the food and then not honor the price, if you go back the next day to get the refund they've gone back through and removed the sale stickers. Ripped off read more

They never have carts and then when I tell any staff their response is always to blame the homeless or apartment people that walk away w/ carts. I grew up in Chicago where homeless and apartments were everywhere and the local grocery store still managed to make sure their customers had carts to shop with. Friendly staff, well organized and well stocked. This is my go-to for groceries and the aisle set up is ideal for the way I like to shop. I am always able to find an employee if I need help finding an item and the aisles are always clean. They now have a new Safeway U coupon program in which you can go online and "clip" coupons for items that you use and it will sync with your Safeway club card and give you the discount at the register. Its an awesome alternative to downloading those pesky coupon-printing programs and printing them at home- saves paper too! The only reason this store did not receive 5 stars is because they have been doing this thing in which everytime anyone donates money at the register for whatever charity of the month it is, they yell over the loudspeaker. The yell includes an especially obnoxious "WOO HOO!" -Not cool. Especially when you are in there for an hour trying to get all of your shopping done. I get the point- they want to acknowledge the donator, but really? EVERY TIME?! Another reason for the 3 star rating is that there is not always a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. We used to shop somewhere else for all of our fresh produce for this reason, but that place has since closed down. Also, the meat selection isn't always that great either. We usually end up heading to Costco for our meat and don't even bother at Safeway. Oh, the price you pay for convenience, right?! read more

Negative if I could. Safeway just lost my business due to this store. Proved I was a member, proved I had the Safeway app but the app wouldn't work so Safeway would not honor the advertised crab leg special that was posted in the store. Way to go Safeway-your customer service is astounding. I post a review and suddenly Safeway cares? Where was the customer service when I was in the store trying to buy crab legs. A phone call at this point is a nice gesture but addressing and resolving the issue when I asked for help would have been much more useful and genuine. read more

Do not use this store for groceries if you pay with EBT or insurance card, U card. The store has modified what you can purchase using your U card or insurance card. You can't use EBT and insurance card together. I had to pay cash because they wouldn't accept my U card then the machine would not accept EBT card so I had to pay in cash. This stores policies on use of U card or EBT is against the law, they use their rules for whats accepted not the governments or insurance companies. I will never shop this store again or any Safeway Store. read more

Not a bad facility for the location, which can be a bit sketchy. The aisles are well kept, and they always have sales on useful items! There was some expired meat in the "fresh" market, and not a whole lot of selection. Otherwise, not a bad spot for some groceries! read more

I've been living in this neighborhood and shopping at this Safeway for 12 years and have watched a severe decline in it's meat selection, long lines, and service in general. There are no longer any hand baskets for a quick run to the store, and good luck getting out quick because there is always a long line. The meats are poor in variety and if they are dripping juice they no longer have bags easily accessible, you need to trek to the veggies and fruits for a bag to avoid cross contamination in your grocery cart (remember no hand baskets!) Honestly, I've started going down the street to King Soopers - shorter lines and when I saw their meat selection I was floored! Hooray real meat and chicken and so much more! I'd even rather go to the Walmart on Platte. Seriously. read more

I've worked retail over a number of years, including Safeway, and know how hard it can be, but the cashiers and courtesy clerks could use some work. Baggers sometimes either don't seem how to know how to bag properly or they just don't care. A couple cashiers have barely talked at all. Today was the worst I've experienced. The employee who cashed me out didn't say hello or anything. He was talking to himself the whole time. He did say a good bye greeting but still left me feeling uncomfortable. I think his name was Xander. I don't know if he deals with mental issues, as I know how that feels a but if you're having someone deal with customers maybe make sure they can properly. I've had bad days too and can understand. I just wanted to voice my concern. read more

Albertsons & now Safeway on Centennial in Colorado Springs has been my go to store for the last 8 years until recently. Their new policy of no returns is unreasonable. The staff are understandably stressed, but I miss the friendly & helpful atmosphere that was there until about 7 months ago. My friend and I were highly upset, slightly dissatisfied, and terribly disappointed. We went to get sandwiches from the deli area and they were out of half the items. My friend asked for Hawaiian bread and they didn't have it. She asked for tuna and they didn't have it. She asked for cucumbers and wouldn't you believe it- they didn't have it. You are a grocery store, how do you not have all of that constantly prepped or on deck? I also feel as though the lady was rude with attitude. This is a terribly run grocery store! Their stocking is never good and they never have enough checkers. Therefore you stop and can't get what you want and if by chance you do find it, you will wait sometimes 10 deep in one of three check out lines! I highly recommend you shop elsewhere for your own peace of mind! read more

The staff is great, they are not the reason for my two star review. I would really like to see more organic items and a better selection of fruits and vegetables that are also organic. Although I will say I do think they have a decent selection of gluten free items. Also I think the organic prices are better at whole foods, but I notice that at any store that doesn't specialize in organic. I think the floors may need to be replaced soon too. read more

This store has a lot of hidden perks that you have to search for such as steak house chili etc... I would give this store a 4.5 star review however some of the cashiers are not mentally stable. I had purchased my weekly groceries here and my cashier, who was obviously a paranoid schizophrenic as he was having conversations with everyone who was invisible and apparently surrounding him except for me. I'm all for hiring disabled people who can perform their jobs but this guy belonged in a hospital to have his medications re-evaluated. He would have sudden explanatory outburst towards people who weren't even there and even forgot to put some of my items into my bags as I wasn't paying attention to his bagging for I was making sure he didn't do anything else that was crazy. Unfortunately I made it home but my steak house chili never did and I'm sure he's at the store having a conversation with it. Disabled employees can be a blessing as the business provides opportunities to them and they can perform but this guy was scaring my kids and forgot my food that I paid for. I didn't go back for my Chili as it was Christmas Eve 2018 but any other day I'd be expressing this concern towards the hiring manager. read more
