This is my current home town Walmart. Before moving to Canon I never went into Walmart. I hated it…read more BUT here in Canon if we didn't have it, we would have to drive an hour to either Pueblo or Colo Springs to get stuff. This one is fine. It is mostly neat and well kept. They took out 80% of their manned cashier lanes and put in TONS of self check lanes (which, honestly I don't mind). I have gotten vaccinations at the Pharmacy and their staff is always friendly, but the Pharmacy always has a long line no matter when I go. And if you make an appointment for a vaccine know that it means nothing, they will do it when they have time (which is often and hour after you made the appointment). They do work hard and are professional, just a little understaffed. Bakery does good work. I have ordered cakes there and they always turn out well and taste great (love the whipped icing). The grocery pick up is the only thing that I would give 1 star. I have had them not bag items and just throw them in the back of my truck!? Twice I got home and found that the cleaning solution I bought didn't have the lid on tight and poured all over my groceries and bed of truck - they did refund all damaged food. And they have tons of problems with their "system" or so they say. I have had orders not ready on time (and ready hours later). Also have checked in to pick up after getting a "your order is ready for pick up" and had to wait 30+ minutes. I actually had to stop using it, it was so bad. So it is what it is. Mostly fine!

Accidentally cut my finger on broken water glass bottle (in my car), ran into the store with blood gushing, and into the bathroom. Then an angel appeared named Genevive, she helped me stopped the bleeding, went and returned with a first aid kit, she wrapped my finger and then gave me a hug. Was on my way to the pharmacy which was also a most pleasant experience, was still a little shaken from the cut so i did not get her name, but sweet as pie. Not to mention the plant department. This store is filled with love and the staff always make me smile. Keep up the great work, this customer notices it....

Have gone 5 times between 1 pm & 3 pm and they have been out of fried chicken to make the 2 pc dark meat combo. Today 6/12/25 at 2:15 they had no chicken for our combo and told us it would be 35 to 40 minutes for them to make more! That's an unacceptable excuse and terrible management. If you knew that you were that close on the dark meat fried chicken then you need to put some in 25 minutes prior to that. then I asked for a side order of coleslaw and they said "nope it's all gone.". I fail to understand how this can happen repeatedly in the span of two months. Somebody needs to get in there and train so that customers are not turned away. It's very very discouraging..

Oh, and the fact that they are lax on "mask mandates"- like most places in Canon City- is a +BIG PLUS+ in their favor in OUR book... For some reason YELP has me listed as San Francisco, when in fact I'm 1250 miles from the City On The Bay- in Canon City, where the business I'm reviewing is located! Go figger.

American Liquor has happily begun stocking a few unusual items I'd only been able to find at Jewetts, and at very comparable prices, so we can "run down to the liquor store" much more easily than schlepping down Hwy. 50 (and dealing with the the four painfully long stoplights along the way). American Liquor also stocks a very good selection of the darker beers we prefer and cannot find in the grocery stores that cater to IPA-obsessed beer drinkers. We love American Liquor!

I walked all throughout the store calling "hello, anyone here" then waited at the counter for a couple of minutes. No one was in the store, so I left empty handed. As I was getting into my car, the female sitting and smoking next to the door got up and went inside! Hard to believe, but true. I used to be a smoker so I know how important a "smoke break" is, but to ignore a paying customer? Bad news. Stopped in today, 7/9, to see if the store was ready to sell me some wine. I asked the female who had just walked in from her smoke break if she was the same person who was working Wednesday and she wasn't sure. She shrugged and said "maybe". The guy working with her couldn't care less. Not a problem for me, I'll just go to one of the many places who want to sell me some wine - including grocery stores now. I don't know if the owner of the store cares that he lost a long time, cash paying customer, but, oh, well. . . . .

While I sympathize, I don't really think it's entirely appropriate to unload on your customers. Even if it's a liquor store. Kinda felt like a deer in the headlights- didn't know how to respond.
