Safety Matters has created an awesome program that gave me a one of a kind experience in learning ACLS and BLS. My instructor, Vito, did such an awesome job in preparing us all for the mega code and written exam. He explained everything in great depth and helped us all feel comfortable in what can be a stressful environment. With this being my first ACLS class, I was a bit nervous, but Vito was exceptional in answering all of our questions. Eight hours is a long time to be sitting in a classroom, but Vito was very engaging and made the learning environment a fun place to be. I took the ACLS course with Vito. He's a natural born educator. The course itself is very long and intensive. In total our class lasted almost 11 hours. However, he made the course fun, interactive, and taught it so it was easy to retain the information. I plan to take PALS with him in the near future. read more

Shout out to Safety Matters Santa Barbara- the whole team. 10/10 would recommend. To start, Justin, helped with arranging both my BLS recertification & my PALS certification. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taking the right classes for my specific job requirements. She would reach out promptly & efficiently about each class, as well as the delivery of each card afterwards. Then I show up for my BLS class with Ana. She was mindful of our time, without sacrificing our skills. She went through each topic thoroughly & had the whole class feelings knowledgable and prepared for an emergency (including nurses, nannies, and civilians). Then I went to my PALS class with Vito. I was very nervous for this class as I had never taken it before. I showed up late (which already had me sweating) to add to my nerves. Vito was very understanding and patient. He 1st gained a basis of my overall knowledge of Pediatric Advanced Life Support and then curated the class accordingly. He went through topics as if we were in real life scenarios (to practice in case of an emergency). To preface- I hate to be put on the spot or leader of an emergency, which I told Vito upfront. He kindly, and supportively made me believe in myself with my answers and responses. I came out of the class so much more confidence to respond & lead emergencies than I went into the class with. Overall a very good experience! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to get CPR certified in the Santa Barbara area. My instructor was Vito and he was great. Very personable and engaging. The class was from 6pm to 10pm and most of us were probably tired, but Vito did a great job of keeping the flow going and trying to make CPR as exciting as possible. As a new teacher, I need CPR certification for adult, child and infant. My one suggestion would be to go over the timeline of which steps to take in order when assessing the situation and potentially giving CPR. There were a couple of questions on the test I was unsure about, but I passed. I would definitely recommend Safety Matters to anyone who needs to get certified. Thanks for a great class! read more

I took the BLS for health care providers course with Justin and she was a great teacher- prepared the class well for the test and also for real life scenarios. I had a long day prior to the 6pm class, but she kept it moving, entertaining, and educational. They also offer a variety of other classes which is great. I would definitely recommend going here. It is also a fairly close bus ride from UCSB and Justin made sure to point me to the right bus stop after the class (which is very close to the office's location). read more

I took Justin's BLS for healthcare providers class last week and was really impressed with the overall quality of the course. My previous CPR certification was done through the American Red Cross and after that class, I honestly felt like I had zero useful knowledge or a comfort level which would allow me to help someone in need.
