This review is about giving blood at this Red Cross location…read more I want to give the place 5 stars. After all, the object of saving lives is worthy of 5 stars, no? So here's the deal: you must come here altruistically. If you get jaded staff who treat you like a keg to be tapped (I understood that comment, and then some), you have to brush it off because you are there doing a good deed. If you get fun staff who joke with you and keep you informed about what's going on, hooray! You've hit the lottery. And remember: they will never have whatever small gift they are advertising through the Red Cross website when you make your appointment, or mention during pesky reminder phone calls. T-shirt? Of course not. Your choice of $10 gift cards? Of course not. And so we are back to point #1: you must come here altruistically. Oh, and the Red Cross app is useful when you are a regular blood donor...which is a good thing to be, since it saves lives and is easy to do.
