The first lesson was horrible as he was pulled under the water with no warning. He became so afraid of the water after that one lesson that he cried to even take a bath that night. During his second lesson I became so upset, I told my husband to go in and get him out of the water. After one month and his fear only growing, we pulled him out and didn't know where we were going to go from there. Fast forward to that summer, I was able to snag a coveted spot with Ms. Emily. The first few lesson were hard and there were tears but Ms. Emily has a special gift when working in the water with children. She is loving, patient, consistent yet firm. She establishes a bond with each child so they know they can trust her. She was a God send and exactly what my son needed. She builds a rapport with each family and it is evident that she unconditionally loves your child as she would her own. My son has swam with most of the instructors at All Things Swim. Each one is an extension of Emily's teaching. They are consistent, patient and fun. Each lesson ends with a few minutes of fun time, children always leave the water on a positive note. Our instructors always greet us by name as soon as we walk in door. It makes you feel special, not like you are just another client. My son loves going to swim and cries when it's time to leave. Ms. Emily and her team have built a solid swim foundation for my son. I no longer have a fear when he is around water. I know that he is a strong swimmer and knows his survival skills to safely get out. I love watching him grow in his confidence and swimming abilities.

I want to be clear that not every employee was involved, and there are good workers who care, but it only takes a few people's actions to negatively impact a child's experience and make families feel unwelcome. One employee made a comment toward my child saying, "God bless that kid," in a way that came across as inappropriate and as if there was something wrong with my child. Comments like that are unacceptable and should never be directed toward a child. I believe children deserve to be treated with kindness, patience, and respect. I will be looking into the proper steps to address this situation, including possible legal action if necessary, because concerns involving children should always be taken seriously.

I love that the conroe classes teach some water safety and have them go off the diving board with the life jackets. My daughter's water sprites teacher was very communicative and told me what level she would need to be in and why. BUT I asked her because I wanted to know what class to put her in next. Her teacher was also very positive and straightforward which I think is great for kids learning to swim. My daughter was ready this year and had been practising all year long and was really really excited about learning to swim so she might have just been ready this year. The baby classes were great too and I saw a huge improvement in my son and his comfort in the water. His attention span is short and would become fussy after 15m but that's not the teacher's fault. There are lots of younger kids working here but there is in woodlands township too. I felt like the people working here were a vast improvement in the way they teach compared to township. The weather was perfect. There were roughly 25-30 attendees. My littles were thrilled to be here. Naturally, I kept a close eye on them to ensure they didn't run all over creation! The Youth lifeguard on duty in that area sat there and watched the child struggle instead of springing into actions. Thankfully, the event coordinator replaced him with another lifeguard The party host requested he be removed from the event. This gave everyone quite a scare. Let's discuss the slides - I think my husband and I were the only ones who went down the slides. We're such big kids. They were fun. The kids play area also had two waterslides which my girls have thoroughly enjoyed. This one is they've never been to a waterpark before. Everything was set. I received an email confirmation and text with lesson details (which were very demanding) about a month ahead of lessons, and then a few days ahead. Today, on the first date of our scheduled lessons I received a phone call from Glendy saying she did not have me on her schedule for my time slot and if I can take a slot 2 hours later. As we live in Houston and Glendy is 45 minutes away, I told her I would have to speak to my husband about the change as we both work. I spoke to my husband, and we rearranged both of our work schedules for the entire week. Glendy then calls me back and says we do have a slot that she was just looking at the wrong schedule. I informed her that we just moved our entire weeks around and she apologized for the first time at this time. She then said she would try to move some things around. I got a text saying she will "make it work". I got another call and she said for us to come anyway and she'll "figure it out". What does that mean? I told her I didn't want my daughter to have to share a session with anyone and she raised her voice with me, told me she wouldn't do that, and hung up on me. I sent Glendy a text saying I didn't appreciate her hanging up on me especially after we have been accommodating on all the changes. I got another call from her saying she figured out a solution by asking another family to move their session and we would get a session today later in the evening close to the rescheduled time which I accepted. Now out of the blue, this afternoon she called me to cancel our lessons indefinitely and that we can find someone else to give our daughter lessons. This woman is unprofessional and unorganized. My son is 6 years old and autistic with no physical or cognitive disabilities. The media has spiked with autistic children drownings, and it is terrifying as a parent. It's been very hard and challenging simply trying to find a place if feel like he isn't judged or treated differently.

For first timers, you will have to fill out a form and don't forget to bring a large sized towel for workouts!
