We had our child evaluated in their free evaluation. Thankfully we signed up for this online but you still want to arrive early. We signed up our daughter for the water sprites and also took baby and me class with our younger child. We saw a vast improvement in my daughter's abilities in the three week summer class. She will take water sprites one more time then move to level 1. We took a baby and me class when she was 3 and it made her terrified of the water. The teacher told us to force our child under the water whereas the baby classes here say "when they are ready" My daughter also took a woodlands township class for double the cost and didn't do much and it was just four days. I love that the conroe classes teach some water safety and have them go off the diving board with the life jackets. My daughter's water sprites teacher was very communicative and told me what level she would need to be in and why. BUT I asked her because I wanted to know what class to put her in next. Her teacher was also very positive and straightforward which I think is great for kids learning to swim. My daughter was ready this year and had been practising all year long and was really really excited about learning to swim so she might have just been ready this year. The baby classes were great too and I saw a huge improvement in my son and his comfort in the water. His attention span is short and would become fussy after 15m but that's not the teacher's fault. There are lots of younger kids working here but there is in woodlands township too. I felt like the people working here were a vast improvement in the way they teach compared to township. I've not used the recreation center so have no information on that. read more

Did you know you can rent this place for parties? This mini waterpark is perfect for small children. We were invited here for a 4yr old birthday party which was hosted from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The weather was perfect. There were roughly 25-30 attendees. My littles were thrilled to be here. Naturally, I kept a close eye on them to ensure they didn't run all over creation! I can't say the same for other people - a child (roughly 10yrs old) almost drowned. The Youth lifeguard on duty in that area sat there and watched the child struggle instead of springing into actions. Thankfully, the event coordinator replaced him with another lifeguard The party host requested he be removed from the event. This gave everyone quite a scare. Let's discuss the slides - I think my husband and I were the only ones who went down the slides. We're such big kids. They were fun. The kids play area also had two waterslides which my girls have thoroughly enjoyed. This one is they've never been to a waterpark before. So this was their first experience and they had a lovely time. read more

Went today for the 3rd year in a row on vacation (teacher). My son who is now 5, loves this place. Staff are kind, location is clean, an abundance of lifeguards doing their job. Showers for after or just to change before you leave, shower area was clean. This place is a jewel, I wish Fort Bend had something like it! read more

Conroe has a surprisingly large and appealing aquatic center. Annual memberships are available or you can pay per visit. The annual membership is a good bargain if you plan to return with some regularity during the course of the year. My kids love the Conroe Aquatic Center and would have me bring them just about any time the weather is warm enough. The facilities are well run and are clean. The biggest problem with the Conroe Aquatic Center is that Conroe has outgrown it and the crowds often overwhelm the place. They regulate the number of patrons that can enter at any one time. If you don't arrive early enough, the facility can already be at capacity and you and your family will have to wait until enough people leave before you will be admitted. You don't get special consideration if you bought an annual membership. It's first come, first served. If the facility is already at capacity when you arrive, you won't get in until enough people leave to allow your party to be admitted to the Aquatic Center. During peak times (like on weekends and holidays), you can show up half an hour before they open and there is already a line to get in. If the line is not too long, you can join the line and still get in with the first wave. There is not a lot of shady space at this facility. Pack plenty of sunscreen for yourself and for your kids. Finally, you're not supposed to bring your own food or water. They have a small dispensary where you can buy food and drink. The choices are limited and the quality is poor. Eat before you show up. read more

This could be a great place! I was really excited to try this place with my kids. We took our two 6 year olds for the day on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not crowded when we went. One had goggles with a nose cover and one had flippers for her feet. We were told that we couldn't use either in the pool! We've never been to a pool where these items were an issue. We were told that the goggles with the nose prevent proper CPR as they can't properly pinch the child's nose with it on. Now, maybe I could buy that this is the case but I don't know, maybe remove the goggles? Well, they can't remove the goggles in case of a neck injury... not sure why they'd be doing CPR for a neck injury in the first place but who am I to argue. Also, I'm pretty certain you'd aggravate that neck injury when pulling the kid out of the water to do the CPR in the first place. We were given no reason for the flippers, just told we couldn't use them. The slides would have been awesome for our kids but our kids are 46" and 47" tall... so they got to play on the little kid stuff which kept them busy for a little while but definitely not long. So, we left the goggles and flippers and kid area and swam with the kids. When in the pool, we threw the kids in the air (mind you, they are 40-50#, so how high can you possibly throw them in a pool?) and they landed less than 3 feet from us (with no other people around) and we were told we couldn't do that either. This is supposed to be a "waterpark" and a fun place and literally everything the kids brought and did or could have done was taken away from us. Being charged full price and only being able to enjoy one part of the "waterpark" was kind of annoying. Ultimately, the kids were disappointed that every time they turned around, they were told "no, you can't have..." or "no, you can't do..." but they like water/pools and they got to swim for a bit. We won't be returning any time soon though. We'll probably just put the $10 entry fee towards a waterpark with less absurd rules and more for the kids to do or go to our neighborhood pool. read more

This place is amazing! It rivals the big water parks with a fraction of the price. It has everything, slides, play structures, a beach entrance, lap pools, park, tables etc! Of course it's on a smaller scale than the big water parks. They have strict rules, so call first for the details. read more

I've just joined the rec center a little I've a month ago. $28 for non residential membership and $20 for a daycare punch card which is 1 punch per child for 2 hours a day. You can't beat that. The staff is very friendly and the daycare workers are the sweetest to my daughter. I'm just sad I didn't know about it sooner. I've never attended any of the classes but the gym area I live in 5 days a week. Although it would be nice if they had a few other machines,I still manage to improvise. I love this place and recommend it to any one wanting a place to workout at living in the area. read more

My kids love this place but I'm tired of paying for drinks when other ppl bring in there own drinks and food. Why do we have to wear the proper clothing when there are ppl who wear jogging shorts, sox in the pool. This place is getting derlict quick. Nice clean facility but the staff needs huge improvements. A lot of young high school and college kids work here which probably explains some of the issues I've encountered. Their swimming lessons are decent but the teachers really don't communicate with parents at all about how your child is progressing. Just an over all lack of communication. Registration for swim lessons is a complete nightmare every time I try to register my kids. Many times I've gone to the front desk there is a gentleman working that is mostly deaf. I think it's great that they hired him, my problem is you don't put someone like that at a front desk because he was having such a hard time understanding me that I could tell he was uncomfortable and apologized many times to me. I finally had to write on paper what it was I needed. I wasn't mad about it, I sincerely felt bad for him and he had a line of people. To me, you should place him in a job that suits him better to where he is not uncomfortable and can do his job without having to worry about people getting impatient with him. read more

Great facilities, wonderful pools and friendly staff. Extremely reasonably priced, even for an out-of-town user. They recently remodeled the bathrooms & showers and they are beautiful; however the tile they selected for the floors seems to be extremely slick and not a good choice for safety, esp when wet. read more
