We recently had Safelite in Omaha replace the windshield on our Audi Q7 after an approximately 18 inch crack formed straight across the driver's side at eye level. Because of the sensors and technology in the vehicle, I was honestly hesitant about using Safelite. The out of pocket cost would have been around $4,000 to $5,000, so we ended up filing a claim through our insurance. Our technician, Juda, was excellent. He called early to let me know he was overbooked that morning when my appointment was scheduled, which I appreciated. Not long after that he called back and said he was on his way. The job ended up taking about 30 minutes longer than he initially estimated, but Juda was professional, informative, and clearly took his time to make sure everything was done correctly. He worked hard to ensure the vehicle was back to normal and that all of the sensors and systems were functioning properly. I was genuinely concerned about having Safelite work on a higher end vehicle like an Audi Q7, but Juda did a fantastic job. Everything works perfectly and the installation looks great. The booking process was easy, the staff was friendly and replacing the windshield took 1/2 the time that they estimated which is amazing. I think they said 2-3 hours and it took 1-1.5hrs. I opted to wait there while the car was being worked on - the facility I would say is "ok". Horrible customer service. Would recommend any other safelite. These employees think they are everything but wrong. You question anything they have said they immediately get defensive and incredibly rude and get very aggressive voice tones. I just had simple requests about getting a windshield fixed was quoted 2 different prices. When I got my car back the calibrated my windshield wrong and now my car goes into start stop. Won't accelerate past 20mph and my epc light and engine light are on. Would never recommend this place. read more

Misleading price quote. They take all your personal information to get a price quote. Then when you go to checkout on the website, it automatically adds a $39.99 recycling fee. That fee should be disclosed in the price quote since you are required to accept it or disposal of the old windshield. Shady business practices and horrible customer service. read more

Scheduled an appt. Tech came out. He was very nice. Installed new windshield then notified me when he was calibrating the cars cameras that it was the wrong windshield. Said they'd find the right windshield and get back to me asap. Fast forward a week and I heard nothing. Long story short I ended up on countless calls with their less than stellar customer service. Finally got a new appointment. Then the day before the new appointment they called and said the glass they got was cracked and they weren't sure when they could get the replacement. They did refund my $1100 dollars for my windshield. So now I have the wrong windshield in my Land Rover, but at least it didn't cost me anything and there's no crack. 2 stars opposed to 1 because the tech was pleasant. read more

We had a failed chip repair that spread (I understand this is just something that happens, regardless of who performs the repair) - SAFELITE was very evasive about what constitutes a failed repair, and on what their warranty covers. Once they finally acknowledged the repair had failed, and offered to pay back on their warranty, I made the mistake of booking SAFELITE to perform the windshield replacement. They don't schedule an appointment time for replacement, just a half-day range. When they missed that time range, they were very unapologetic about missing the appointment - I had to take another day off work to finally get the replacement accomplished. read more

I went here for a repair on my vehicle from a chip in the windshield. The lady behind the counter gave me the normal warnings which might have made me a little more nervous if this wasn't a work vehicle and my company hasn't worked with them before. Those warnings were, you'll still see the chip (it should not spread though so ok), but there's a slight chance (like I think another review talks about) that the less than some size chip could spread and cause cracks that could require more work needing to be done. That last one is a little more worrying. That being said, it was a quick fix, I can still see the outline of the chip but I think it's fixed. read more

Technician came to repair a pea sized chip in our windshield. During the repair the window fractured down the middle. The technicians reaction was surprising when he said that he had seen this the day before and wondered if it was due to the high temperatures. Then, realizing he was making himself look at fault, he quickly added that this was something that just happens and we would be responsible for the full replacement of the window. I just love when companies bring the fault back to the consumer. Shouldn't Safelite understand the conditions when a repair may or may not occur. I was not impressed with the customer service, nor the communication of this company. Maybe if I had been verbally informed of this risk I would not feel like I am paying for a lack of attention and an excuse. Don't go unless you wanna waste your money and time. I had made the appointment on October 7th and was very grateful to have them complete my passenger side window because it was destroyed. I went about my day until I got a random text from one of the people in safelight claiming they were closing 30 minutes early that night and I thought ok that's fine. When I pick up my car and roll the window down there is a loud click when before there wasn't a noise, and a grinding sound when I roll the window down. It's also started to fall down when I am driving. I just needed my busted window fixed not the arm mechanism, also was informed at the first location I was getting my car repaired at they would vacuum out the extra glass and apparently couldn't be bothered to do this and the shop I got the work done at. Over all not happy specially when I spent $473 for a subpar service. read more

When I arrived I was told it was going to be about 1.5 hours for a replacement and their waiting area did not look comfortable so I opted to do mobile instead. I heard the small rock smack my windshield on good old Interstate 80 westbound and then the sinking feeling in your stomach; the dreaded rock chip. Ugh!! There it is; smack dab in the middle of my windshield. Double Ugh!! Then the question sinks in: Do I get it repaired now or let my luck ride and hope it doesn't grow worse into the infamous and very noticeable line? Well, I chose the former. I called Safelite early on a Saturday morning and they said there was availability late that morning or they could set up an appointment to have the mobile van meet at my place of business on Monday. Seeing that I'm the "let's take care of this now" type person, I drove over for the late morning appointment. It couldn't have gone any smoother. The staff was professional and I was out of there in 35 minutes. The rock chip is barely noticeable thanks to Safelite! I will definitely be back here again and will recommend it as I'm doing here. Good, efficient service and very convenient location to Bellevue and Papillion. After a rock or ice block hit my front windshield on my VW Tiguan, my husband made an appointment for full windshield repair. A nick quickly became a full blown crack with the cold weather we've had. We'd had an appointment weeks ago for a lower price and, although it was somehow more expensive when we rebooked, they had no qualms about giving us the original price. And my window looks great! The facility is very clean as are the restrooms and they have a keurig for tea, coffee or hot chocolate why you wait. I saw that they were voted Best of Omaha for several years and have no doubt it's a well earned title. Will come back again if we ever need glass repair, but hopefully we won't! read more

Had my son with me and they offered hot chocolate and coloring books, and had some coffee, paper/magazines and gave me the remote for the TV. I had Safelite repair my auto windshield. It was a sub-standard job and I called the local offices to correct the shoddy workmanship. The local manager said that he was "not empowered" to order a "re-do". I asked for whomever was above him and got their contact information. I called that individual who claimed they weren't empowered either! I asked for HIS supervisor contact info and acquired it. Long story short, my calls went all the way to the VERY TOP. Price was fine but completely preventing customers from talking to anyone local regarding specific issues or scheduling made the experience very cold and impersonal. The automated process is probably great for Safelite but it's terrible from the customer perspective. I ultimately cancelled my appointment and used a different company because I was completely prevented from talking with a local person regarding specific scheduling requirements. We have used Safelite in the past with good results. In an attempt to get a windshield fixed in my F-250 today, I learned that you can no longer speak to a love human and all scheduling/orders must be done online. I attempted to use the website but my model of truck was not coming up properly and I could tell I wasn't getting the wrong windshield was being identified. I tried to call six times without success, hitting different menu options each time and having the system ultimately hang up on me. I took my business elsewhere. You can't offload all of your service on machines. Sometimes you need a human. Unfortunately, until they fix this, I will not use them again. read more

The owner told me to get a quote and schedule an appointment. There stupid jingle came to mind. Set up an appointment online pretty easy no hassle. Tech (Michel) calls me supper friendly very informative did an excellent job explaining what he was going to do. Asked me how I'd like to pay i told him what had happened, gave him the dumtruck owners # he called collected payment. Fixed my front window, the side window is a different story, to no fault of Michels. Safelite some how managed to label the wrong window as the one for mine. It clearly didn't fit. I received a call from Michel apologizing on behalf of safelite even though it was no fault of his. He sealed up my window nice and tight with some plastic stuff and told me some one from the office would be giving me a call immediately to figure out how to proceed. This is where safelite failed as a company. They NEVER reached out to me no email no txt from there computer thing, no calls for 3 days. So I reach out online, some one calls me with in the hour I inform them of what's happened, and I would just like to have my car back so the sooner I could get it done the better. So he set me up with his earliest appointment Monday morning. They had the wrong window..... they scrambled and scratched something up from some place. Hopefully it's a quality product but who knows at this point I'm happy they found one. So they call me later my car is finished and ready for pick up. Well I run a construction crew. I don't have time to pick my car up before 5 most days. So now today is Thursday I go to pick my car up and they tell me I owe them $799. I explain to her how it had already been paid at the time of the remote service. She tells me I'm wrong, I grab my phone and show her confirmation txts of payment from safelites robot. She is absolutely no help tells me I can pay or not take my car. I left the office heated before I lost my mind. I saw a tech in the parking lot asked for the store managers phone number. Because I wasn't going back inside. He said he would grab the manager and be right back. After waiting 10 minutes and paying a guy to sit I. The truck for 30 I left, called customer service wasted another hour of my life to receive pretty much 0 help as he just forwarded the information on to the dm, and said he would be reaching out to get this resolved. I have four chips in my windshield. My insurance agency told me to come to this location. The staff are friendly and save me money by finding a crack in the windshield. Rather than spending the money to fix the chips, they recommended fixing the windshield because the windshield would further crack. Had a shattered window still intact with tape holding it together and shattered glass pieces in the door cavity. After a miscommunication with ordering the wrong glass we finally had a technician replace the glass after about 12 days. The tech was really nice and replaced the glass just fine. Window works great and I'm pleased with a window I can see out of now. The reason for the three stars is that when I shut my door I can hear the glass pieces rattling around and there's tape residue still on the door frame. Would have given 4 stars if the glass had been vacuumed out completely, 5 if the residue was removed too and I didn't have to do anything on my end. Now I have to remove the door panel and remove the tape residue. read more

I am forced by insurance company to use Safelite Autoglass and they are just awful to deal with. I was warned by my dealer and they were absolutely correct. Made an appointment for a Friday from 8:00am-12:00pm, no one called or showed up. Called and talked a supervisor what happen and had to reschedule for the following Tuesday from 8am-12pm again, he said I would be first of the day, 8am-10am. Here it is 12 noon, no show and no call. Another wasted day of hanging around for them. I can't rate the quality of their repair abilities because they do not show up or call. Give them a two thumbs down, do not use this company. read more

It shouldn't take 3 days to get a windshield replaced. I had the windshield replaced in one car with no problems, and was very happy with my experience, but things were very different for my next vehicle the following day. Day 1: windshield gets replaced, but technician notices scratch on it while cleaning it. I'd already been at the store for over an hour, so he comes out to apologize, and says it'll be just a few more minutes while he buffs it out. No problem. Comes back later to tell me that he can't find the correct pads, and doesn't know what to do, wait more. Then comes back to say that since the scratch is in the driver's line of sight, they'll just replace it. Insists on coming to my house since I've been inconvenienced, and says i will not have to pay for my new windshield wipers for my trouble. Day 2: My appointment window was 12:00-5:00PM on a Saturday. Technician calls at about 4:25 to ask me if I have any other plans for the evening, because he's on his way. I let him know that we're ready for him. He gets here, looks at the windshield, and says that he doesn't have the correct windshield with him. After he leaves, I called Safelite to move my next appointment to the store (to hopefully avoid wasting another entire day, and lack of correct parts) and complain. All I get out of the phone call is the rescheduled appointment, and another promise for my windshield wipers to be free. I don't even want them at this point. Day 3: no one is apparently working at the front desk, and it takes a passing technician to get someone to check me in, and help the gentleman behind me. And nearly anyone else that needed assistance that afternoon. A few minutes later, the same check-in lady comes out to all why I'm there, as they don't see any cracks or blemishes on the windshield. I told her what all happened, and after she investigated, she came back out again to let me know that the "employee had the correct work order." I asked if that meant that he had had the correct windshield when he was at my house on Saturday, and she said that it was. "Okay, now what do we do?", I asked. "Oh, he's getting in trouble." Um, okay. I felt like that wasn't my business. What I wanted to know, is how is Safelite going forward with me as a customer, and fixing the scratched windshield that they installed? But the lady just stood there after that announcement, like that was it. So I asked her if that was it, and she said that they were now going to buff the scratch out. I was a bit confused, as I was told on Day 1 that it would be better to replace it due to its location, but I didn't argue. I waited for her to acknowledge this failure of customer service, offer a discout, maybe apologize at least. "So I wasted 3 days now getting 1 windshield replaced, got lied to by your employee, and am paying full price for this windshield?" So she says that she'll look into a discount, and goes in the back. It was so awkward and uncomfortable. I shouldn't have to beg for customer service, which at this point was a discount, let's be real. I even had other people watching this in the waiting room nodding their head at me, and one telling me that I'd better get my money, because my time was worth it. He said I handled it far nicer than he would have. So I don't think I've been unreasonable. After 2 hours, I finally was able to pay and leave. Yes, 2 hours to buff out 1 scratch that was about 2 inches long. I did get a discount, and another promise for free wiper blades. I also got 3 bottles of glass cleaner, which I was promised was "amazing". While I was paying, the same lady told me how they were taking care of me my giving me the wipers and glass cleaner. In the end, I have a discounted scratch-free, crack-free windshield, free windshield wipers, and free glass cleaner. But I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone, and I won't be back. read more
