First trip was a total waste because when I got there the windshield they had for me had scratches on it. So they had to order a new one and make a new appointment the following week. This could have been avoided if they had examined the windshield before I arrived and called and told me not to come. But apparently they don't get the windshields in until the morning of the appointment. The second time I went, they called me after we left and said they could not do it because the "OBD Port" had been cut and they needed it to be there for the recalibration. So I immediately said I'm sure that has something to do with the Killswitch and they acted like no that can't be it. So then I called Infiniti and they said yes that's what it is and they told me to call Sound Waves to get specific instructions on what to tell them. Mind you they just told me it had been cut and to come pickup my truck. Sound Waves helped and told me what to say as did Infiniti. They finally figured it out and installed the new windshield. They also put new windshield wipers on that I asked for and was going to pay $80 for but I asked her to comp them which she did because of the come back a second time fiasco. Well the free windshield wipers were faulty and we found out in the middle of a monsoon on a road trip. When we got back from the road trip, my mobile detailer came to clean the truck and shows me where the raggedy windshield wiper had scratched the front of the windshield they installed. And there is some kind of sticker residue on the inside of the windshield that we scrubbed with everything we had and it won't come off. So I called and they said they would replace it under a warranty claim. I made an appointment for the same week. When I get there, the NEW windshield they had in the shop to put in had a crack in it! They didn't install it. I left and told them I didn't want to work with Safelite anymore and I wouldn't be making another appointment. I will say everyone there was very professional and helpful. The issues here are obviously larger systemic issues, such as why their glass distributors keep sending damaged windshields and why they don't get them until the morning of the appointment and make calls to let people know not to make a trip for nothing. read more

Covington Pike location in Memphis is a joke. I made appointment for windshield replacement and was told to drop off by 9:30am dropped car off at 9am there were hardly any cars on the lot. Went home and waited to be notified the work was done. By 2pm still had no texts from the location on the status of the replacement. Called the corporate number and they told me to be there by 5pm and it would be complete. Show up at 4pm and it is STILL in the lot in the same space I parked it in. I asked why it wasn't done and was told it would be done when they get it done they'll stay after closing to get it done. At 4pm the lobby is packed with people who weren't waiting when I dropped off this morning leading me to believe they get people waiting in the lobby and those that leave to come back later are moved to the end of the line. ] As of 4:34pm it is still out in the parking lot and closing is at 5pm. They finally started on it at 5:04, meanwhile the people who were here LONG after I dropped my car off at 9am are gone. It's now 5:41PM no one is in the lobby but me and one other person and still the vehicle is not finished. Asked one individual whose car was finished what time he dropped his vehicle off he said 9:30am. I dropped mine off 30 minutes before him and still have not got my vehicle back. When I said why wasn't my car done before theirs all I got was deer in the headlights looks. The store manager and area manager will be made aware of this. Another person had their vehicle finished before mine now I'm the only one left and it's 6PM. At 6:15 PM they FINALLY called my nome only to tell me the calibration of the windshield wouldn't work so I would have to come back and they would have to order an OEM windshield to replace mine and I'd have to come back on August 26, TWELVE DAYS LATER. When I asked why it took them so long to get to my vehicle after dropping it off at 9am, I was told "Yours was an all day appointment, if you had made a time to drop off then we'd have got to it sooner."..this information was NEVER conveyed to me when I left the car this morning at 9AM, and is a LIE because the person who picked their vehicle up before me dropped theirs off 9:30AM. When I brought up being refunded the repair cost of the original crack that expanded making it necessary to replace my windshield, the employee at the front desk (young woman with tattoos) argued with me that I would have to speak to the manager about it when the documentation I had from Satellite CLEARLY states that if the repair doesn't take and the crack gets big enough to make it necessary to replace the windshield the cost would be refunded to me. I had to sign a paper to get my vehicle back so now I'm driving a car with no lane assist, no collision detection, no assisted cruise control for the next 12 days. Thank you for wasting my entire day. Once I FINALLY get my repair completed on August 26 I'll be using the dealership for any future windshield repairs and tell my friends and family to avoid Safelite. read more

This location is awesone! ! From the lady at the front desk to the installer and the Manager. I traveled to Memphis from Colorado to visit my daughter during the Thanksgiving vacation. I left my truck parked in front of her home and when we came out the next day to go to eat, someone had broken the rear side window on my truck. I called to make an appointment and the only thing I could get was a drop off and get it back by 5:00 PM on Monday. This would have meant another night stay in a hotel at $200 per night. I showed up at 8:00 AM on Monday morning and was greated with a smile. I explained my problem and they immediatley pulled my truck in the shop and had the wildow replaced in 1 1/2 hours. I was able to get on my way back west at a reasonable hour due to their help. I highly recommend using this location. The service is awesome, repair was great and everyone had a Great attitude! ! read more

I made an appointment 8 days in an advanced and they knowing botched it to call 20 minutes before show to tell me so is amazing. The manger was supposed to call me back right away now hours later still nothing. Corporate office is just as bad hour later as well still no new appointment. Besides availability with scheduling, the technician Hannah from Safelite was on time and the her customer service was great. All my questions were answered and aftercare for my windshield was clear. Hannah even left a treat for my fur babies. I definitely would recommend Safelite. The automated line needs improvement. Very difficult to talk to a human. I actually think this might be the most horrific customer service my husband and I have ever experienced. I don't think a company/staff could TRY to be as incompetent and careless as the people who work here. First-- we have a Tesla Model Y so we have to bring it IN to Safelight. In short: they sent us an email on how to "prepare for the visit", not mentioning that they wouldn't accept the car without a physical key (Tesla has a valet mode & our phone can also be used to turn it on) so my husband drove 30 min there, then 30 min BACK to our house to pick up the key. Then 30 min back to safelight and dropped off the car. They had him wait in the lobby for almost an hour before turning the corner (he thought they had finished) just to tell him "Your car isn't done... we actually forgot to order the window you need" AN HOUR AFTER HE ARRIVED. So he drove BACK to our house with zero repairs done. Complete waste of 4 hours of our day. They mentioned it would be 30 days to order the correct window so Safelight scheduled him for tomorrow Dec 20th and said they'd "call when the new window arrives" ... well my husband just called to confirm the time and the staff forgot to schedule him for tomorrow and now they're full. Not to mention "the window came last week did no one contact you guys?" After completely blowing our first appointment they have now forgotten to put our new appointment in the calendar... not once followed up with us, and are "too busy" to get us in for yet another week. Everyone there should have to go through a retraining class (or just start over with completely new staff) Do NOT waste your time as this safelight. read more

dropped car off 2 times for windshield replacement. first time the new windshield was scratched so rescheduled so they could get another one. dropped car off with front desk the second time and left only to get home again and received a call that the windshield was out of stock and would need to come back and get my car until they get another one in. No calls to let me know they didn't have the windshield before driving 30 minutes for a scheduled repair and didnt tell me when they took my keys when I dropped it off. horrible communication- wasted 2 hours of my time dropping off and picking up with still no windshield- not to mention gas for me and my pickup ride. will never use them again and advised my agent and the insurance company directly to not refer to this company. read more

Windshield had 5 chips in it due to driving up and down freeway 5 days/week and I thought we could get away with having the chips filled. Was informed they would only fill up to 4, anything over that and it was recommended to replace the whole windshield -- any one of those chips could become bigger and trigger breakage across the windshield while driving freeways. Went with recommendation, as well as adding new wipers and Rain Defense application. They did a great job in under 1.5 hours (told it would take 1.5-2 hours depending on how cold they were -- in 20s temps). Customer Service was excellent (remote from Ohio), and local employees were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. read more

Got a large crack at an unknown time and made an appointment for the following week. There is only 2 appointments a day for them to come to you, so I had to book out about 5 days. My technician was Mark. He was kind and professional. Worked efficiently and the windshield looked fantastic. He left his card incase of any problems which is kind. This review is not for any specific Safelite location, but for Safelite systems and support processes which are obviously non-existent. I scheduled a windshield repair online (only way to do so now, for you can no longer contact customer service to schedule). Referral number 166078 for today-I received both email and text confirmation of today's appt between 8-12 PM. But nobody showed up. They only have an automated Customer Service line now which isn't very helpful (how convenient). I texted with chat rep who basically told me I had no appt. scheduled for today? And to call 1-888-800-4527 and an agent can assist me? Seriously???? I have the email and text confirmations they sent me. Safelite accepted no responsibility for this error, and now tells me to call customer service (which isn't the process) and schedule ? I waited home all day, nobody showed, and they throw the ball in my court to call customer service to schedule an appt. What a colossal joke. I will NEVER consider using this company again. And will post this exact same review on Google so others can know and beware. (Note : The chat rep said somebody called me on 4/19. I have no voicemails, but have two calls tagged as spam by my call filters. If Safelite did in fact try to contact me about this, why didn't they do so using the same channels I used with them? They have my email, they have my mobile and texted me about my appointment that I scheduled. So that's a pathetically lame excuse if they're basically claiming this is all my fault and my problem. *take photos of your vehicle beforehand and make sure to check everything after* 1982 Chevy C10. They broke the first windshield replacement and had to keep the truck in their shop overnight. Next day I come to pick it up and they did not put the rear view mirror back on (they just left it on the seat and said nothing). In this model, the radio antenna is built into the windshield, so after checking the radio it turns out they did not connect the A.M connector so now only F.M works. I walked into the store and told them and they proceeded to tell me that there was no connector and that A.M had no way of ever working (I rebuilt the radio this summer and am 100% sure it used to work). Only giving 2 stars because they did fix the mirror problem, and because this vehicle is from the 80's and not up to Modern standards. Would recommend going with someone more reliable. read more

On around the 9th of March, I had a rock strike near the top of my windshield resulting in a long crack. The next week Safelite were able to work on my vehicle. The whole process took about two hours. I noticed the technician in the garage kept looking at me, through the window into the waiting room with a mildly panicked look on his face. I didn't know why until I got home. They damaged the front A pillar trims to the point one popped out a day later and the other was wedged in but not fitting correctly. They had to have known what they did yet they didn't mention a thing to me when they took my money and gave me my keys. Then came a six week ordeal of many phone calls to the Covington Pike Safelite. The order paper they give you doesn't have the Covington Pike office phone number on it. Instead it is the national phone number that, once you go through the automated menu, tells you no one is available, directs you to the website, then hangs up. So I ended up driving back out there (which is about 30 mins one way for me) and spoke with Scott. Scott came out and looked at the damages and said he'd order the parts and give me a call within 1-2 days. 3 days passed and I got no call. A week passed and I ended up driving back down there yet again. This time I spoke with Lauren. Lauren looked around and said she could not find any info of parts being ordered or anything being done to document. So Scott did nothing? Just lied to my face? Lauren was super friendly though and agreed to order the parts and let me know when they came in. By the time I got home she had already left me a voicemail indicating they would order the trims but other damage, I thought was caused by them, on the wiper cowling was already present. Fair enough. She also gave me the phone number to the Covington pike Safelite office which was helpful. And 3-5 days I'd get a call? So I waited a week. Then called back. Lauren again on the line and she said they hadn't come in yet but would let me know when they were. The tone this time seemed to indicate she was growing a little tired of me calling, even though I was only calling once a week for a status update. Around TWO more weeks pass, on a Friday a different woman from Safelite calls. She claims she was just starting her job there and was looking around, when she noticed an order for work to be done on my car, and asked if it still needed to be done. Well, yes, it does I was waiting for Safelite to call when the parts came in. She said she would call the dealership then call me RIGHT back. Ok. She never called back. So I call back the following Tuesday, This time I get Mitchell (sp?) who also I gather is fairly new with the company but seems willing to help. He says he will call the dealership then call me back. haha ok. But what do you know? He did call me back. Said they just 're-ordered' the parts. I don't know how many times they have to order these parts before they're really ordered but sure. The next week Mitchell called again and was true to his word. The parts were in and I could stop by any time to get the repair work done. So I went in middle of the week and Nekocia (sp) was at the desk this time. This place seems like a revolving door of people at the desk in the Safelite Covington Pike office. Lauren, Steve, unknown Woman, Mitchell, Nekocia... I will say Nekocia was also really friendly and easy to interact with. After about 20 minutes of waiting they had my car out and ready to go. The car trims look brand new and do look like they are installed properly this time. The tech who installed the trims (a different one from the original incident) apologized for the long delay. That was appreciated. But I felt the need to express the disorder ongoing here at the Safelite Covington pike shop. It seems the corporate side of Safelite needs far better organizational skills on staffing and a much better training on at least 1 of their Techs. The guy who installed my windshield needs more training on his job but also better Ethics training on damaging customer's vehicles and not saying a word. It looks like he tried to use some kind of black rubber glue to attach one of the clips he snapped on the passenger side trim piece which obviously didn't hold. But it was all for not because neither trim was fit in place correctly. Just a total amatuer hour hack job. Then, for 6 weeks, rain ingressed into places it normally wouldn't if those trims were installed properly while Safelite got their act together. I just hope further damage isn't now on going (in the form of rust) underneath. I stayed very patient the whole time though. And I have most of the conversations, after the initial repair, recorded as evidence. It was such a boondoggle and the irony is I picked Safelite, out of a list of numerous auto glass shops in the area, because of their name and reputation. But I would not recommend Safelite at the Covington Pike office today. read more

Our truck was broken into in West Memphis, TN/Arkansas the passenger side driver's window on a Friday night. Listening to the false advertisement of " we can come to you or you can come to the shop and have next day service " was a complete joke when there was not 1 of the 3 satellite businesses open on Saturday or Sunday to help. We were from out of town and had to drive back to our home state with plastic, and duck tape on the window for 5 hours. If you advertise that you are a nationwide company that can get the glass fixed with no hassle, then at the very lest you should be open on the weekends. I will NEVER recommend this company in an emergency. read more

I'd like to give a shout out to everyone at this location, from the front clerk to the mechanics. I walked in today without an appointment, not knowIng if they could fix my situation, and after a few seconds of being inside a lady came from the shop room and greeted me and then apologized for being back there when I came I in. ( it was refreshing for that acknowledgement even though it was just a few seconds) I explained to her what was going on with my windshield seal and she came out to look at it. Then mechanic came from around the building and was asked to look at it, he took my car to the garage and 15 min later he came back with it fixed. He just replaced a clip for the rubber seal that was bulging up and then glued it down. They said it was no charge! They were so courteous and quick to help. I will highly recommend this company and especially this location to anyone who needs window repairs! Thank you Safelite! Your employees are amazingly awesome! read more

Communication could not have been better. I made my appointment on-line and I chose an appointed time convenient to my work schedule. Safelite has good commercials; however, they did not show up or even call to say they could not make it for their first scheduled appointment, they rescheduled to a second appointment, showed up to tell us they had 7 more that day and could not do ours, said they would reschedule it, and did not. After we rescheduled the third appointment, they did not show up or call (again). I can't rate them low enough. This should have been easy. Trying to do business with them was a waste of time. There are other options, and I recommend you use the other options, not Safelite. We had this taken care of in an afternoon by another company, and it WAS easy. read more

The repairman did not replace the "cowel" because he didn't have one with him. This is something that had to be fixed because the window whistled as you went down the road afterward. So I when we took it back to them they said we had to do yet another insurance claim on it. Both were under the deductible so it ended up costing us $130.00 more. Stay away from these folks and go somewhere like Phillip Morris who tells you everything upfront or at least has everything they need. It does you no good to have it repaired at your house if you have to go back and get it done over again!! Plus their customer service folks just talk over you and never let you tell your side.
