I was impressed at how professional Safelite in Marshalltown, IA was in replacing the windshield of my car. They kept me informed every step of the way, and even sent me a picture of the repairman so I knew just what to expect. I had to wait a week for an appointment. when it was my appointment time, nobody showed up. I called and they said they "couldn't reach my doorbell" because I have a gate in my front porch. umm what? you don't know how to use a gate? they didn't text/call to say hey I'm here. they said they would come back today. nope. sure didn't. I called all day- no answer. finally at 415 I reached someone and they said the manager cancelled my work order. WHY? and why wouldn't you call to say that? horrible customer service and don't recommend to anyone read more

So full disclosure here... I went to Safelite here in Marshalltown because I had a cracked windshield and a car that I had just purchased. Part of the agreement for me purchasing the vehicle was to get that windshield fixed. I can't comment on the price because I did not pay for it but I can tell you the service was excellent, it was quick, and the staff that I dealt with were professional and courteous. I was extremely happy with the way the windshield looked once they replaced it and if in the future I get a chipped windshield or maybe unfortunately need to repair it again or replace it I would have no problems contacting Safelite here in Marshalltown. read more

I finally decided to get my windshield replaced as it was cracking along the bottom and kept getting worse. I am in a rural area and have child care responsibilities so I was looking for mobile repair. The reviews of Safelite looked good, so I thought I'd try them. Worst place to go. Repair took 3 times longer than told. Windshield look worse after repair than before and you can see more damaged area than before. They sent another service person to look at windshield and he admitted it was a poor repair job. But could not repair the other technicians mistake and told me the only thing they can do is to replace the windshield. They promised me a full refund which was months ago and have not received a penny and now left with a bad looking windshield. Go to any place but these people!! read more

I will NEVER get my window replaced from this place again. I had a guy with the name of Joe come replace my driver side window as it broke. Not even 24 hours later my window would not roll up or down. We took my door frame off, all my wires were broke, the clips that holds the window he ended broking them as well and with the clips being broke my regulator and my motor ended up being fried AND Safe life would not stand behind their warranty due to workmanship and service. There were no damage related due to his poor installation. I not only had to pay almost $400 to replace the window, I now have to pay to get the motor, regulator, wires, and clips. There was also shattered glass left in my door frame which caused a rattle, he came back to look at it but, never stood behind the warranty to clear that out. This place is a complete joke. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! read more

They did so well & helped alot of people in the community of Marshalltown after the Tornado. I don't know what sort of experience the last commenter had, but I had nothing but a positive experience with the guys at Safelite. I'm a student and don't have a lot of extra time/money, so when a tree branch smashed my back windshield, I was really overwhelmed. Every interaction I had with the technician assigned to my car was extremely positive. His handiwork is marvelous, and he took care to fill me in on every potentially relevant detail about the job. Also, as a young woman, the fact that Safelite sends bios on their tech guys to customers--complete with photo--is huge. Considering ways to make customers comfortable and have the best experience possible is rare and I commend Safelite for keeping that in mind.
