We had no waiting and after two different technicians looked at the area they said no repair needed because it had been previously repaired. Misleading price quote. They take all your personal information to get a price quote. Then when you go to checkout on the website, it automatically adds a $39.99 recycling fee. That fee should be disclosed in the price quote since you are required to accept it or disposal of the old windshield. Shady business practices and horrible customer service. read more

there is no way to communicate with any local shops. you can't get a specific quote online because they do not have options. The online chat never works and safe lite so far hasn't proven to be in any way accessible. If my car was in the shop how would I ever get ahold of them? I had the BEST service ever at the Safelite facility in Lincoln NE. First, it was easy to schedule. I arrived late and the gentleman at the desk was kind and let me know that they could still get my car in. He offered me a place to work while I waited - and gave me the wifi passcode. I was close enough to listen when he responded to customers on the phone. He was very good at working with people. The technician who replaced my windshield was amazing. He was thorough, fast and courteous. They told me it would be two hours - when it was closer to 70 minutes. And he not only gave me a new squeaky clean windshield, he vacuumed my front seat and cleaned my dash! I highly recommend they guys! read more

Last spring, I had Safelite replace my windshield because my insurance company pushed me in that direction. A few months later a crack appeared for no apparent reason (not due to a rock). In getting it replaced at a different auto glass repair, they discovered that Safelite was so sloppy with their installation that they got glue all over the VIN tag and destroyed it. In addition, it was their opinion that the crack was a stress fracture due to sloppy installation. I will NEVER use Safelite again!!! read more

We had a side window on our Toyota van explode while traveling on the interstate near Lincoln, Nebraska. It was a rainy Friday afternoon. (3 pm). Once I could exit the freeway, I found a wayside rest and called Safelite. They found us an appointment for the next morning on Cornhusker Hwy in Lincoln. We drove to this shop, arriving at 4pm. They quickly covered the missing window with plastic. (Of course it was still raining). Glenn said they couldn't get the window from the warehouse until after closing. He however offered to keep the van, worked late getting all the glass cleaned up, then came in early Saturday morning to install the window, even before the 8 AM opening. My windshield was hit by a rock off a rock truck! When it came time to replace the windshield. Safelite had to cancel 1st time because of rain. The second time he drove 60 miles to my vehicle and down here it started to sprinkle he waited then said I'm sorry but I don't want to screw it up because of moisture. He came back next day and got the job done plus installed a free 50 dollar pair of wipers no charge. So, let me say this, I was very pleased with the service I originally received. They were more than honorable in dealing with some shortcomings. But the story is not having a happy ending. I came out to find my car towed. I had my parking permit hanging on my rearview mirror since the day I bought the car, never had a problem. I had to get my window repaired a couple weeks back, was lucky I guess I wasn't towed before, but found out the hard way my permit was missing. At the tow lot, I pulled up a bag that I put my trash in, went through the bag and lifted the floor mats to check to see if it might have fallen. Nothing. So I go to Safelight on O street in Lincoln where the work was done and explained I just paid $164 to get my car back because my permit disappeared and the only thing done was my window being replaced. I had the tow lot guy standing right there as I did this. Go to Safelight and the guy says he never saw it and did not have it and said Let me go check in your car. He went out ahead of me and magically, he found the pass. When I asked here he found it, he said, Under the trash bag. Keep in mind, this was he trash bag I had just lifted and gone through with the guy at the two lot. I wish I had video recorded the search at the two lot, but at least I have a witness for small claims court. Then the guy told me "those things pop off easy". which is anything but true for this parking pass. It has only been on/off once or twice counting this missing event. I also took a video of me yanking it back and forth with significant force to demonstrate what it takes to have it come off. So needless to say, they aren't owning up to the missing pass and I'm currently stuck with the bill, hence the reason for this review and a visit to file for small claims court. If it hadn't checked at the two lot and had another person standing there, I probably would have accepted it. I probably would have accepted it even if they had come out and said, we found this but didn't know whose vehicle it belonged in. I can accept a mistake and especially after they treated me so well the first time. But this time, nope, and it took every restraint I had in me not to call him a liar and to go back in to speak my mind. But someone who will stand in front of you and lie like that, you don't win with, so I will take to social media outlets and utilize the courts for since they didn't want to handle this in an suitable manner. So 5 star service for my original service and a -25 for the follow-up. I am beyond frustration and all words at this point. I am a reasonable person, up until the point of a lie and especially after given the opportunity to own it. $164 is a big chunk of change in my life. I don't have that kind of money to throw away, especially when something wasn't my fault. If it was, fine. If it was an accident, fine... but this is beyond disheartening when I was face to face, knowing I was just with someone else who saw the there was nothing on the floor under the trash bag. read more

Worst service I have ever had... after three visits it took them three attempts to get my glass installed (first attempt they shattered the glass installing it), broke my trim around the latch from them breaking the first piece of glass and messing with the latch to rig it to shut properly, broke my rear windshield wiper (I know it worked the morning the glass broke because it was raining and I used it)... When I picked my car up the first time I was aware they were having trouble getting it to shut properly and seal... I walked in asked the guy if they got it to work and shut like it did before, he said yah it took us a while but we got it and works great. Get out to the car and the window is a half inch off the seal and doesn't shut properly... I also brought in new hydralic arms for the window and asked them to replace them, so when I got my vehicle home I tossed the bag I brought them in, figured they did... turns out they didn't. Got a fed story about how they told me they didn't and even went and got new ones from an auto dealer and tried to make them work but couldn't... so I ended up throwing away a brand new pair of arms because they didn't do their job. Tried to get a warrenty on the arms and the manager lied straight up to the Corperate Rep on a conferance call with us. After filing a complaint with corporate offices I got the Lincoln Office on a conferance call and they lied and were confused, didn't know what to say then ended up denying everything and making up excuse after excuse and litterally blaming me for trying to collect on a large corporation... this must happen allot to them with their terrible service and terrible quality and attention to detail. They could not repair a small chip on outside driver side the size of a needle head. I had a bad feeling when he walked up with his dirty, wrinkled shirt and huge earings in his ear that I was in trouble. When he gave me the disclaimer it could spider but this looked like it could be easily fixed I agreeded. Then I was told no sorry, after he made it spider 6 inches in 3 different directions. I am hoping this review saves people from wasting their money! I got a chip in my windshield and my repair was horrible. Yes the splitting stopped BUT!.... the chip and splitting was still there! This is the first time I have had a repair that I could still the entire crack! Save yourself a headache and do not use this company (I had to due to my insurance). On the first scheduled appointment they brought the wrong windshield. They could not get another one in for a week. Finally they have the proper windshield and the morning of the appoint they call to say they are on their way and I need to call back to confirm. I call back within minutes and every phone number they have called me on is disconnected. I call and call for 20 minutes. I finally get a working number and they transfer me to the technician- who also has a phone that doesn't work. It goes to voicemail and the voicemail box is a random jumble of jargon. It sounds like a pocket dial. I call and call and call again trying to reach the main Lincoln office- phone lines disconnected and when I finally reach someone she threatens that they may have to reschedule because I didn't call them back. They finally come out and put on the windshield. I give them my debit card and the technician runs it. I get a call several days later that it was actually never run to safelite and they accuse me of not paying on purpose. I have to spend an hour on the phone with Wells Fargo confirming indeed my card was never run by safelite and it was in no way declined. I am very concerned where my debit card information went when the tech ran the card and told me I paid. I am forced to give them my card information over the phone and think finally this ordeal is over. No such luck. After I followed all of the rules for the new windshield less than a week later the rubber around the windshield bubbles up. I can stick my finger under the front of the windshield. So I have to deal with this company again as they did not install the windshield properly. Save yourself the headache (and potentially stolen debit card information because I have no idea where my card info went when the technician ran it) and use a different company. read more

I just bought a new car and had a chip in my windshield in less than 30 days. Called my insurance company to file a claim, within 30 minutes Safelite called and we set up an appointment at my office. They called that day at 7:45 a.m. to give me an ETA and to find out where my car was. He left a voicemail and texted me when the job was complete and let me know the front of the car was vacuumed however he didn't wash the window because it was drizzling rain.
