This place has the worst customer service I've ever seen. Scheduled an insurance claim winshield repair with them as they were "preferred" by my insurance company. Scheduled a mobile appointment 3 days in advance. They give you a 5-hour window - totally fine. I plan my day accordingly. The 5 hour window comes and goes. No call, no text, no nothing.. I then contact the main customer service center and spoke to a representative (after getting through their useless AI assistannt) who then contacts the local repair shop (the one I'm writing this review for) who apparently advised her that it's not looking good for today and that the technician got backed up and that it might be best for me to reschedule. Yep - that' s what I did.. with a completely different company altogether. Thanks Nathanial for being assigned to my repair and not having the decency to call or text giving me a heads up that you're running behind.. I saved you the trip altogether.. Besides being late, the quality of the chip repair was horrible. i've had chip repairs before where, yes you could tell where it was, but essentially the fixed glass was clear. This looked like the exact original chip was now simply encased in resin. it now refracted all light and looked worse than before. This should have been a simple, clean chip repair. The only solution now is to replace the whole windshield, and you can bet I'm not letting Safelite do the work. read more

The reviews after the fact sort of terrified me, but my experience was phenomenal. I placed a service order online. I put the order through my insurance and essentially Safelite took care of everything for me. During the appointment I was greeted by multiple friendly staff members. i was told it would take 2-3 hours and it really took less than 1 hour completely. The entire situation was a breeze. They followed up with me after the fact to make sure my glass was installed properly and I was having no issues. Everything was perfect. I would recommend this service to anyone. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They got the wrong phone number from Geico so they did not knock on the door, contact geico, email me they just left. When I tried to have them come out right away to fix the windshield because now I've been home from work for two days not only did they refuse they got combative. When I asked to speak to his general manager, he lied and said he did not have a boss and hung up on me. Do not use this location under any circumstances unless absolutely an emergency they are absolutely terrible. BUYERS BEWARE! Absolutely awful. Glass quality is horrible right along with the horrible customer service. They ruined my lining. They kept using the excuse that it's old but like I told them. If they would have told me I would have gotten a replacement and then did my windshield. The guy Shane really tried arguing with me about it. Which is funny because he's the one who told me to drive all the way up to Safelite. Like he really had me drive all the way up to Safelite so he could argue with me in person. Once I noticed that I pressed record. It was really one of those you have to see it to believe it moments. I was really shocked he started getting hostile with me after I came in being very nice. They sure know how to turn a smile upside down. Save yourself time and energy and go to a better class company. The quality of Safelite is not what it's hyped up to be. My rear view mirror fell off my windshield and was hanging from the radar unit on Friday morning. Saturday, I went to the Largo, FL location to ask when they could fix it. The person at the desk asked to see it. He took it in immediately and reinstalled the mirror for me! terrible customer service, they advertise they come to you for the repair, not if you need a windshield replacement on a newer car. I had to go to the shop and wait, by the way the shop is in a huge industrial park, nothing in walking distance. was told the repair would take 2-3 hours. I waited 4 hours 15 minutes. During this time I received no communication regarding the status of the repair, or an explanation for the extended wait. when I finally received a text the repair was complete the woman at the desk very curtly told me I would have to wait for my keys, that they do not send the text. then why did I receive it and from who? I was there from 9:45 to 2:15. I did not pack a lunch and there were no vending machines. unacceptable I will never return. read more

BUYER BEWARE: On 11/19/25 Safelite replaced our windshield. A little over a week later, 11/29/25, our vehicle's check engine light came on as well as the AC and the fan stopped working. A power train warning appeared in our Hyundai mobile phone app. Not realizing this could be a windshield issue, we immediately took our Santa Fe to the Dealership for diagnosis on 12/1/25. They traced the problem to a wire being pinched/severed in the roof wiring harness, it was cut in half during the installation. We called Safelite to report this issue as a claim under warranty. They said we should have called Safelite first and because we didn't the warranty is VOID!!! That's pretty clever on their part, why would I call Safelite for a Check Engine, AC and fan not working issues? We also found out that Safelite installed a FAR INFERIOR windshield than the original windshield that came with the vehicle. I recommend if you have a windshield with cameras all around your vehicle that you use your Dealership to order and install your windshield .......... DO NOT USE Safelite!!! Now I'm stuck for the pricey invoice!! read more

Save your time and go elsewhere. Tech came to my house for a replacement, said he didn't have it, called me an hour later and said he found it and had to cancel for rain. Made another appointment a week later, had to come into the shop, glass was there but it was damaged so they couldn't do it. Wanted me to spend $400 on OEM glass to get it done that day and I was quoted $200 over the phone earlier. We dealt with Lisa at the Safelight on 71st. in Largo. She was professional, informative and very courteous. Lisa also was able to meet a few hours before the scheduled time! The Largo Location terrible service They don't answer the phone when you call. They don't call you once your appointment is made. They don't tell you upfront how long it's gonna take for instance, if you have a Tacoma, your windshield has to be calibrated and it could be up to three hours even four hours in some cases They were rude and INconsiderate the first windshield that came in supposedly was damaged. I am inclined to believe they forgot to order it and they just waited for me to drive all the way there and then they gave me the bad news. So I went to another location in Tampa Outstanding! over the top, polite, courteous knowledgeable. The Tampa location was out of my way, but it was worth the drive to go to a place where I was treated so well and the service was fantastic. It took me two weeks to schedule, today was the day. I dropped the car off and came home. Once I was home, I got a call telling me that they do not have the windshield and they do not know when it will be available. The entire two weeks they texted me to be on time. I had to go back to pickup my car, I told them that if this is their level of service, how can I trust the work they do. I absolutely DO NOT Recommend Safelite. This location is run exactly how would expect a corporate location to be run - no one has an answer, no one is available to resolve a problem, and nobody takes responsibility. Originally scheduled a service for a windscreen replacement through the Palm Harbor location. Arrived to find out the windscreen they had ordered was defective and was told to reschedule elsewhere. I chose the Largo location, dropped the vehicle off, and was told later that day that they too have a defective windscreen and cannot install. Interesting coincidence. The manager, Joshua Godfrey, explained that it must've been a 'bad batch' of glass from a supplier and assured me the issue would be resolved. This was on Wednesday, August 31. He called me later that day to assure me that both a correct windscreen had been ordered from a Miami warehouse and that it would not only be in Friday, but installed Saturday Sept 3. Come to find out today, Sept 3, not only does no one know anything at the location, but the glass hasn't even arrived yet! They eventually give me a date of the 9th, a full week after what I was promised by Joshua Godfrey. Of course, no one with any knowledge or authority is there today or can help or even are willing to help. Anyone you speak to responds with the same dour verbosity of a corporate functionary there only to collect a paycheck with zero interest in customer service. Joshua Godfrey either has incompetent staff working under him or is a liar or both. I feel at this point it is both. This time I did not pick the first available appointment as I work at night and didn't want to be up for hours waiting in the middle of my sleep time. So I scheduled the work to be done on my day off between 8am-noon. This morning I received a text *six minutes* before my appointment time stating that they've rescheduled it to three days later in the middle of the day. I showed up on time for my appointment at 1PM. They made me wait 12 minutes so the tech could finish his lunch. Then they looked at my rock chip and advised that they would be doing this "outside" in 82-degree heat under no shade. They also would use my vehicle's A/C to cool down the windshield so they could apply the epoxy and if the windshield can be cool enough it won't crack. Are you kidding me? Get your act together and stop booking so many jobs you don't have availability to use your bays to do the job right. Oh, and if you make an appointment, be ready at the allotted time. I went home , called the main office ( witch they should have done), got the information they needed, went back, and they now couldn't get my car done. Sadly my story is the same, terrible costumers service, unreliable and liars. March 28th was the first appointment. They couldn't fix it, Second appointment, they forgot to order the replacement and forgot to call me. 3rd appointment the new windshield had a scratch they did not repair it. They said they will call me at the end of the week to rebook. That was April 28. I called Progressive customer service to call Safelite 4 2x to different managers to push them to repair my crack. Manager Josh or David. They have wasted so much of my time. They "say mobile" but make you drive to them, just to find out no service will get done. They either scheduled it wrong or the replacement window is cracked. I have had 3x the replacement window being cracked. Drove 3x to the shop for them to tell me it's cracked. They have taken over 2 months to order the right part for my car which is only a cover. They don't care what so ever of the inconvenience they are causing. The technicians don't know what they are doing. Still haven't resolved the issues. I would never deal with safelite again if I don't have to. Do NOT work with this location. The service and communication is terrible. I had my windshield replaced on my Lexus. During the install the service tech removed the windshield seal and then neglected to replace it. IT was up to me to discover the part was missing and the install incomplete. I called and had to have the office order a new seal. This took over a month to get the seal and longer to have it scheduled. Once installed it was done incorrectly again. I have called, written and escalated this issue with no resolution. I am now forced to go to Lexus to fix the car. read more

Renee Cacchillo President and CEO Safelite AutoGlass 7400 Safelite Way Columbus, OH 43235-5086 renee.k.cacchillo@safelite.com May 6, 2024 Greetings, Ms. Cacchilo: I am writing to you about an experience with Safelite AutoGlass at 12580 71st Court, Largo, FL 33773. Work Order 04021-604486. 1. On April 20, 2024, I scheduled an appointment online for a repair service to be done on April 30. At the time, my windshield had a small crack near the wiper blade assembly on the passenger side of my 2010 Lincoln MKT. 2. By April 28, upon my return from out of town, I found the crack had expanded beyond the 'size of a dollar bill' which prompted me to inquire if I should upgrade my appointment to a full replacement. I was advised by the Largo facility that based on my updated information, a full replacement was indeed necessary. 3. The replacement appointment was rescheduled for Wednesday, May 1, between Noon and 5pm to allow time to order the windshield. 4. On Tuesday, April 30, I was advised that the windshield that was ordered had been broken in transit or loading. This resulted in the replacement being rescheduled to Thursday, May 2. 5. When the technician, Robert, arrived on May 2, he looked at the car and immediately assessed that the replacement would require a 'recalibration.' He explained that my car had a camera mounted in the rearview mirror assembly that housed safety features that must be 'recalibrated' upon windshield replacement. I was not aware of such a procedure and had to have Robert explain exactly what and why a 'recalibration' was needed as it related to my vehicle. Robert advised that he did not have the appropriate device necessary to perform the 'recalibration' and he would have to go back to the shop (or somewhere) to get one. This resulted in about a two-hour delay in the service. 6. Robert was a very polite young man who explained that the 'recalibration' would add an additional cost to the work order. This caused me to call the Largo office to understand why 'recalibration' was never a conversation after I upgraded the repair to a replacement. 7. I spoke with Josh at the Largo office. Josh advised me that it was not their fault that I did not include my VIN in the initial repair request. He then blamed the person who put in the work order for the full replacement for not doing it correctly, whatever that meant. 8. Josh and I spoke for about five minutes. He began to become agitated with me based on the tone of his voice. My objective was to express my disappointment that my quoted replacement cost did not include a charge for 'recalibration' and that such an omission put me, the customer, in a precarious position at no fault of my own. I asked if Josh would be willing to explore absorbing the 'recalibration' cost as a Safelite leader. The conversation was circular, and I let Josh go after repeated attempts to get him to understand that my dissatisfaction was not of my own doing. I agreed to proceed with the replacement and 'recalibration' and I let Josh know that I would write to you. 9. Robert finished up around 1:15pm. He told me he had some 'good news or maybe some bad news.' Robert found that he was not able to perform the 'recalibration' because my vehicle was not responsive to the 'recalibration' software used for the service. He advised that he had consulted with others and concluded that I would need to sign a document attesting to the fact that the 'recalibration' was not performed. The preauthorization for $1,016.47 was posted to my American Express. Robert advised that the office would adjust the invoice to remove the 'recalibration' cost. 10. SUMMARY: a. I trusted Safelite to do the work based on what I perceived from television commercials that show how 'easy' it is to do business with the company. I am sure many people know the jingle: "Safelite repair. Safelite replace." b. I find that Josh was more concerned with making me wrong for not knowing about the 'recalibration' procedure than extending himself to further research the issue. Why did Josh nor anyone with whom I interacted ever ask me to provide the VIN AFTER the job was changed to a replacement? Had they done so, I suspect they would have known my model does not have the electronic safety features that would necessitate a 'recalibration.' c. My disappointment is more a matter of principle than anything else. I feel compelled to share this ordeal with you as a person who has stepped up to move the company forward as its President and CEO since late 2021. It is my hope that somewhere in this letter you will find opportunities to improve on the customer service experience through systemic changes and/or employee training. read more

5 stars for going above and beyond! We had just gone to the beach the day before, so there were quite a bit of sand in my car. When I came to pick up my car that evening, all the sand were gone and my car was clean! Check in process was quick and easy, and their staff were accommodating in pick up time. I was visiting family in Florida, and was afraid that getting my windshield replaced would be a stressful task...it wasn't. Only thing I'd say that could improve on is masking. One star because zero stars isn't an option. Took my vehicle in on a Friday. Was told they needed to order parts for the replacement and to come back next Wednesday first thing in the am. When I showed up after taking a day off of work I was told again that they needed to order parts for in replacement. When it was brought to their attention that happened last Friday there were a lot of uhhhss, ummms and sorry I guess the order didn't go through. I figured the third time was a charm so they again ordered the parts and told me they would call when the parts came in. About four days later I got the call and scheduled another day. Took the car and dropped it off and at 4:00 pm I got a call saying they couldn't replace the windshield because a screw was stripped. The vehicle had the factory windshield so I'm not certain exactly how it got stripped. Bottom line. Don't waste your time with this place because they don't care about yours. read more
