My experience with Safelite in Freehold was beyond frustrating and ultimately very expensive. What should have been a simple repair of a tiny nick turned into a disaster. The technician who came to my home managed to crack the windshield within minutes of starting the repair. That mistake alone forced me to go through Allstate and pay a $500 deductible just to deal with damage that happened during a routine service. I then had the windshield fully replaced at Safelite. For a 2025 vehicle, I expected quality work. Instead, just three days after the windshield was replaced, a stress crack appeared across the glass. When Safelite came back out, they refused to take responsibility, claiming there was a "nick" at the top--something that was never pointed out before or immediately after installation. I've since had multiple people in the auto industry look at it, and both said the same thing: this is consistent with a stress crack from improper installation or poor-quality glass--not outside damage. To be fair, the second technician who came out was absolutely wonderful--professional, kind, and clearly trying to help within the limits he was given. Unfortunately, he was representing a company that simply would not stand behind its work. At this point, I'm paying out of pocket to have another local company fix what Safelite got wrong. If this is what passes for "repair" and "replacement," I'd strongly suggest trusting literally anyone else with your windshield. read more

When you call to speak to speak to a representative you get an AI do-loop that keep sending you to prompts you don't want. I have to reschedule an appointment and I already paid for the new windshield but the AI prompts won't acknowledge that I have already paid and let me schedule a new appointment. There is NO WAY TO SPEAK TO A HUMAN!! I will never use or recommend Safelite again!! I would put no stars if I could!! read more

Absolutely terrible after waiting three days to vans arrived... to fix and replace my windshield on my 2004 Infiniti Q x56, which had been hit by a falling tree during a storm. There was no damage to the pillars or the windshield frame but they told me after waiting three days that they would not do my windshield until I fixed all the bodywork, including the fender in the hood there was no damage on the roof of the car or the side pillars, and they said they had four other jobs to do and they were not gonna marry my job. I asked what does that mean? Marry, my job deal with any problems in the future they said I said I am willing to sign..... Anything that says no warranty please put in the windshield because it's going to rain. The one man almost ran me with the Safelite truck and it rolled up his window and would not talk with me anymore. I would definitely try to find a small mom and pop shop even if you paid a tiny bit more but you were treated like a real human being and just put in the windshield without worrying about anything else telling me I had to repair my car. I need my car's windshield in so I can continue to work then I will buy a new hood, and a fender fairy fairy said nasty experience, and it was dangerous. He almost hit me. read more

I had my windshield replaced back in July on my Toyota tundra. They used an aftermarket windshield, which seems to be OK. However, today the driver side windshield wiper arm completely stripped out. It appears they never tightened the nut when they replaced the windshield they remove the wipers and didn't fasten the blade on securely, therefore it stripped out the wiper arm. I spoke to my insurance company. I spoke to Safelite. They offered me no assistance. The arm cost me $150. I will never take my vehicle to the Safelite shop again. Obviously they did not do a check on the wiper blade arms, considering the bolt was hand tight. read more

After 3 hours he left quickly saying "all good" with my husband unable to check out the work. Got home and saw this nightmare! They even did a bait & switch on the prepaid quote and up charged us!!! NOT GONNA HAPPEN Can't use the car, and can't even get them out immediately to resolve, instead I'm stuck with a "warrantee" appointment (other branch) 2 days out. We have been waiting for 11 days for a new rear window for our Mercedes. We were told it would take 3 days. Our appt date keep getting pushed back 2 weeks and i can not get a live person to help us with what is going on. Extremely frustrating. Safelite repair, safelight doesn't respond. Last week I received a call and text that they were on their way for the scheduled appointment. Waited all day and nobody ever came. I called back the number and it was their driver who said the windshield was damaged and that the office should have called. I am rescheduled for a week later and haven't heard anything yet. I hope they can redeem their poor service and I can update the poor review. They finally came and replaced my windshield. The installer did a great job. Sadly "Safelite" cost me two days waiting for their poor service and could have offered a discount but didn't. That said I will search for another provider if this occurs again. read more

I have had two replacements on different cars and I was very happy with the installation on a complicated car. the days of just popping in a piece of glass are over. two things you need to know is get plate and glass coverage and two make sure your Auto Bright light button is pressed so you are ready to drive at night without someone flashing the brights back at you. read more

We had Safe Lite come out to our home in East Windsor, NJ to repair a cracked windshield. They said they weren't able to repair the crack, which is fine. But in the process of looking at the windshield, their technician Tymere made a dent in the hood of a Jeep we just bought. When we noticed the dent, we immediately told him about it and he claimed it was there previously. It wasn't. We just hand washed the jeep the day before and there was no dent. We asked to talk to his supervisor (Karlton Francis) and he was also immediately dismissive saying there's no way his technician could have done it. We provided before and after pictures(since we just bought the jeep, we had pictures we just took), but they claim it wasn't obvious that it wasn't there before the work. I asked to speak to his manager and he said they would contact us back within a day. He never called us back. We followed up at least 3 times with Carlton and I finally gave him a deadline to respond or else we would file a complaint. He still never responded and Karlton even stopped responding. The thing that makes me most upset is they didn't even apologize, but instead just completely disavowed any responsibility and essentially called me a liar! read more

I called an hour after they we're supposed to be there and the girl in the office apologized and said the technician called in sick and she would have to reschedule me for another day. Safelite in Freehold has ordered the wrong glass for my vehicle 3 times. They have the VIN # and they have seen the vehicle 3 times but keep ordering the wrong glass. I just had my windshield replaced in Eatontown nj. The tech did not save me the old emissions and inspection stickers which gave me several calls an hour of wasted time. Also the tech told me he would leave new EZPASS velcro. I am still looking for it. We had the same problem on my fiancee 2009 hyndal. No velcro was left and I loose console that hangs down. I had my windshield replaced last May at the Freehold, NJ location. After I received my car back and was driving on 95 and noticed a rubber gasket flapping arround. Got out to see and saw they did not install it properly. Also the sensors were not calibrated. My smart cruise control was not working properly. Tried calling them many times and leaving messages and no one called back. Called corporate and they promised they will "put fire under them" . No one calls back! I went back to the Freehold facility and they told me they had to order some clips from Infiniti because the tech broke them and they will call when they arrive. Still waiting with no one calling and you will not get a call back. They are beyond arrogant! I took my car to Infiniti loosing 4 days and paid $840 to have the sensors recalibrated and to find out that they damaged my rain sensor too. A friend of mine took his car there yesterday too and was not aware about my experience and just told me that they screwed up his appointment and were treating him like crap. I would have selected zero stars if possible. Safelite replaced our windshield, and in the process, broke the auto-wiper rain sensor. The technician explained that it was possible, and when it happened, he acknowledged it and said he would have the part ordered and would replace it on the new windshield. This was on July 26, 2023. My husband has had to call Safelite repeatedly to check the status of this secondary repair. We have been told they didn't know, the part has been ordered, the part was backordered, and that we had an appointment for Saturday, September 2, 2023 between 8:00-5:00. When the part was said to be backordered, my husband offered to purchase the part which is readily available on the internet, and have Safelite reimburse him. Safelite refused. My husband asked where the part was coming from, and when they told him, he reached out himself directly to the vendor and was told by the vendor that the part was not on backorder and could be in within a few days. He called Safelite back and advised them. We were then told by phone and confirming email that technician Anthony was scheduled to come to our home to complete the repair on September 2, 2023 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. At 2:00 p.m., my husband called Safelite for an estimated arrival, and he was told that the part hadn't come in and our appointment had been cancelled. Safelite said "someone" was supposed to call us. We never received a phone call or an email regarding the cancellation of the appointment. This is completely unacceptable. We believe it was purposeful that we were left waiting for them all day on a Saturday, holiday weekend. read more

I made an appointment online, first available was a week away. Received multiple email and text confirmations all week long. Day of I got many more and was told my technician Ronald would be there between 1:30 PM AND 5:30 PM. He never showed up, never contacted me... of course the help line closes at 5 PM.. I called the next morning and I never even got an apology or an explanation as what happened to Ronald. I rescheduled and was told the $50.00 Mobile charge would be removed, of course It was not! I was extremely satisfied with safelite auto glass. I had a small round crack on my jeep windshield . It was easy to sign up to get the repair. However it was my first time using them and i wasnt sure exactly what to do , should i either get it fixed or replaced and there was a few options to choose from and things to add or not add . So then I called and the girl on the phone was so helpful and steered me in the right direction. Then the day of the guy Brandon t called to let me know when he was on the way and hat came on time . He was so nice and was explaining everything to me and put my ezpass back & the inspection sticker too. He got to my house at 2:55 and was done by 3:25 . Even with us talking and everything . Safelite of Freehold is the Worst. Everyone working in office is incompetent. Jason the manager is a poor excuse of an employee, no less a manager. Jake never called me or did what he said he would. Katherine had an attitude and never called as she said she would. Who is hiring these people? I brought my 2018 Honda in for a replacement windshield on Monday. They installed an aftermarket windshield that had distortion on first 3 inches. Lines on the road would visually bend, like looking through a magnifying glass. When I told them, the installer agreed and told Jake at desk not to use that same manufacturer Vitra. Jake said he would call me in 2 hrs to confirm a different manufacturer and set an appointment. I waited days to hear from him. Then I get an email at 7:30 next Monday that I have an appointment at 9am to drop off my car. Really? Like I can drop everything. I took the car in at noon when I could get there and Katherine told me "You can't just show up and think we can take your car, you'll have to come back tomorrow at 1pm.". Tuesday at 12:30 I dropped car off early. I get a phone call at 4:43 that my car is ready. I call them immediately, they close at 5pm. Who can get somewhere in 15 minutes with no notice when someone else has to drive you? So my car had to stay there over night. When go to pick up my car, surprise the idiots used the same Vitra glass with the same distortion in the glass. Instead of apologizing, they have every bum that works there say "I don't see any distortion". How did you see it last week, but now with the same glass you don't? They also got black dirt on my material visor and pen on my leather seat. Katherine said "I will call you and have someone come to your home this week to remove it". She never called. A week later I call Jason the manager. I explained that someone was supposed to come and clean my car to remove dirt and pen. He put me on hold, then said someone will come tomorrow. Next day Safelite tech arrives ready to install a new windshield on my wife's car. Jason disregarded everything I told him and made an appointment for my wife's van windshield to get Installed which we were getting fix in Toms River. We took my car to Safelite in Toms River which is twice the distance from our home to avoid the Freehold office. Jason is a moron that is worthless. He overheard me express my disappointment with Jake while he sat 5 feet away and not once stepped in to correct anything. His involvement made everything worse. Avoid this place like the plague. We did have a mobile Tech Brandon install our glass in my Wife's van and he was professional and very curious. read more

I'll give you guys the short version, they sent a technician to my house and he installed a scratched up windshield, there was literally a letter N scratched into the glass amongst other scratches and he misplaced a lug when he removed my wipers and he just replaced the lug with something in his truck. I informed him that there was no way I was paying for that and he scheduled a new installation. Later on in the day I went out and it rained and only one wiper worked. I was pissed!!!! Called the Land Rover dealership and they didn't have the part, called Safelite and they sent someone after I acted like a complete donkey on the phone to fix it but because they were out of the glass I had to wait a couple weeks for it. I got a call and they eventually scheduled the installation for the glass. I brought the car in their "master technician" installed a new scratch free glass and I left. A month later it rains and I see a drop of water on my phone in the center console but I thought nothing of it. Then one day I realize there's a leak in my car. I took it to the dealer they said it's the windshield, I drove to Safedark and they said it's the sunroof and the tech pours water into my sunroof, water comes through my speakers, nice!!! Silly me I drove back to the dealer and I refuse to go back and forth anymore fix it now I tell them and they change the windshield and finally the drama that started in January of this year is finally over. Horrible customer service. Stood there for an hour while they argued back and forth about who was going to do the work. 2016 Porsche Macan with a stress fracture on the front windshield. Needed replacement. Wasn't hit with a rock so they said there was something wrong with my car and they didn't want to touch the glass. My car is 5 yrs old. Apparently, they only fix windshields that were hit with rocks. After I left Safelite without getting my windshield repaired, they called me and said to come back and they will fix it. Sorry. Too late. Took my business elsewhere. They sent me away, wasted my time, and then expected me to come back again. Called American Mobile Glass. They worked with my insurance, came to my house, and replaced the glass no problem. Oh yeah, and I had to physically go to Safelite. 2 hours of my life wasted. You don't have to use Safelite. Insurance will pay whoever you want. Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else. read more

I got up at 5am to get to my appointment scheduled at 7am on a Monday morning. When I arrived to the address the location was nowhere to be found and I ended up at a softball field. I looked on Maps and the address was different than the one given to me by Safelite so I thought I'd try my luck there. Took me to the correct building of the old address with a piece of paper that had the new address of the same softball field I ended up at. To make it worse the shop was not yet open so I had to wait in my car for an hour before I could call. When I finally called the guy said the address was correct but I just had to go up the street and make a turn. So clearly not the correct address and no signs indicating where to go. I then asked how the shop wasn't open but the appointment was available and he advised they do special appointments before opening. Unfortunately at that point it was 8am and there were no appointments available for me to go before I had to get to work. Safelite initially told me it would take as little as 45 minutes but the guy at the shop said 2 hours minimum. Ultimately the gentleman was very kind and tried to help but overall a horrible experience. If you're going to move locations AND make 7am appointments available give an accurate address OR at least have someone available to take a call during those hours. Wasted a full Monday morning - terrible way to start a work day and still with a 2 foot crack on my front windshield. read more

Here is the Story. Safelite does not honor their "lifetime warranty" unless you plan on owning or leasing you car for less than 5 years. I do not consider that a lifetime-not even for dogs: I never received a response to my survey response to the Safelite Warranty not being honored due to rust that was from a replacement done by Safelite in 2009 on my vehicle that cracked in June 2019.It has been just about 1.5 years with no response. This morning 3 6 21 I went to a Safelite Dealer with the same cracked windshield in the same (upper right corner passenger side) . I was told by Technicians this was not a Safelite problem and the stress crack was due to rust. I have been driving around with Safelite Windshields for over 10 years. The windshield leaked causing rust to my car body and now I am told to get to the street and find a Body Shop? This is not right and it is not fair. Why is the rust my problem when the vehicle had no rust when the first Safelite windshield was installed in 2009? Now I am told by Safelite technicians that I need to go to a Body Shop for what I am sure will be an expensive repair involving cutting and welding new steel on my Car Frame as well as a new windshield. Something is not adding up. Safelite needs to respond to my critique of July of 2019 about why you do not honor your Warranties. Rust was not present when the first windshield was installed in 2009. Rust was present when the second windshield was installed in 2019. Rust was present when you attempted to install the 3rd windshield this morning in 2021. And an email was sent today 4 6 21 that I "cancelled" my appointment. This is NOT TRUE. Your Technicians said they could not install the new windshield due to rust (which in my opinion was caused by a faulty installation of a windshield in 2009 by Safelite)-THAT IS THE TRUTH. I DID NOT CANCEL THE APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECORD. Stop playing Games about honoring your Warranty. If I do not speak to a QAQC Manager in the next 3 days I will post this Tale of Woe on every website I can think of. I expect Safelite to make good on their Warranty Commitments. As a customer, I do not expect to go out of pocket for thousands of dollars at a Body Shop that was caused by a leaky windshield furnished and installed by Safelite between 2009 and 2019. And to add a Footnote, my rear windshield was replaced by Safelite in 2003 and that has a rust problem as well. Coincidence? I as a customer do not think so. Had a "star" chip repaired. Yes, they said it would still be "visible" - but afterward it looked about as bad as it did before. I have used the do-it-yourself kits before with MUCH BETTER results. Next time I will do it myself, but it's too late for this ugly blemish which I now will need to live with for as long as I own this almost-new car. read more

You delay your repair and take a day off of work and they tell you that you need a new windshield without even looking at it. They aren't qualified to make repairs. I am very pleased with the service at the Freehold NJ location. My windshield unfortunately has cameras so the expensive was quite high (not Safelites fault), but my fault for not having appropriate comprehensive insurance. Never the less, Safelite effectively dealt with NJM insurance company and did the repair as promised. In fact, I believe the re-calibration of the cameras are even better than a previous calibration I experienced years ago due to an accident. The staff is professional and the work done to my expectations. read more
