Safe Srub cleaners did an amazing job. They were on time and professional. I use them for biweekly clean for my apartment.

    The Maids of Medway

Hello all in Yelp land!…read more I recently had The Maids come in and clean my home. Now, I've never hired a cleaning service before and have prided myself on being able to take care of my own home, but this past year has been very busy and I found myself not being able to do the chores that I've always done, owing to a very busy work schedule not to mention going through a divorce. My house was pretty dirty but I can't say I really noticed it because I'm rarely home, until about a week ago, when I took a good look at my bathroom and said, and I quote, "Yuck!, I've gotta fix this!" I wasn't sure how to go about it, because I simply don't have the time to spend to clean my home the way I'd like. So, after combing the Internet looking for cleaning services; in a rare moment of clarity, I remembered that The Maids was only a half-mile from my home. I called in the experts, and scheduled a time to meet with Paula from The Maids...she was prompt (VERY important) and pleasant as we reviewed what needed to be done and after a minor communications glitch between her and the actual cleaning team (loss of one star above), I came home yesterday to a clean home for the first time in 4 months. I couldn't believe it, my house was clean and everything was as I had expected. Now I'm not OCD or anything, and I had no illusions of grandeur, but I would say that the Maids definitely came through for me. They were certainly thorough, the floors were clean, and all the surfaces in my home were clean and free of dust...all was as it should be. Now, you may be asking yourself, The Maids sounds great, but was about the cost? Being an accountant by trade, this was an area of primary concern. Owing to the economy, I'm not making what I'd like (but then again, who is?)...so when they told me the cost, I had some reservations about hiring them. They were more money than I thought, but I looked at it and figured out the cost based on my hourly rate and it actually saved me money. You see, I could have cleaned my home in about 9 hours, and when taking into account what I could make in those 9 hours, versus what I was going to be charged by The Maids, it was a no-brainer and my choice was clear. The other plus was that The Maids did a better job than I could have...clearly their standards are higher than mine and they did it in less time than I thought possible. All in all, I would recommend The Maids without reservation to anyone who doesn't have the time to clean... Thank you, AM

The maids of Medway did a poor job on my home. I have a 1200 square foot home that is well lived…read morein, and I hired the maids to do a thorough first clean and then schedule them every other week. The initial cleaning was $238 for a team of 4 to spend one hour doing the initial clean of 5 rooms (i have 7 rooms in my house but could only choose 5). When they got to my house I pointed out which rooms were to be cleaned, and I asked if they were doing the hallway or stairs. They said no, it's not included. I'm not sure how you can clean a house but not the main thoroughfares within it. Also as part of the initial clean I asked that the top of the fridge be cleaned/wiped down since it hadn't been in awhile (everything was removed from the top of the fridge so nothing needed to be moved--it just needed cleaning). That was not done. At the one hour mark, the team lead came to me pointed to her watch, shook her finger at me and said they weren't doing the master bedroom because they'd run out of time. I do not know how a team of 4 can't clean a house in an hour-I have had teams of two and single cleaners do a better job in an hour. Essentially, all I got was a wipe down/dust and mop of 4 out of the 5 rooms that i paid for in my shoebox of a house, along with what I would consider abrupt --if not rude -- treatment by the lead cleaner. To the maids' credit the manager back at the office offered to send the team back to make it right. She sent the cleaners back to my house, and they sat in my driveway fir 20 minutes without knocking or trying to come in and finish the job. Meanwhile I told the manager I couldn't take anymore time out of my day since I was trying to get work done (I work from home). She then offered to have the team come back the next Monday or Tuesday and I said 8:30 am Monday would work but I have meetings back to back after that both days. She said they are just getting in at that time. She offered to have a different team come on Thursday, but I said by then we'd need a redo. She then offered to do a complete re-clean approx 2 weeks later and if I was willing to change my cleaning day. At this point I said that we should just cut our losses as we are traveling a lot through august and we wouldn't be around then either. So they did try to make good but only at their convenience. Wait there's more. I'm my response of no thanks to the offer of a complete re-clean, I mentioned that for $238 I expected more and that they should have worked with MY schedule to make it work. The final email to me stated, (not a direct quote) "as you know, our guarantee includes an offer to re-clean your home, and refunds aren't part of that guarantee." To which I replied: "I never even asked for a refund." I should have asked for a refund. WAY too expensive for nickel and diming and shoddy work. I feel a little bad writing this review but the final email and my annoyance at having learned an expensive lesson is prompting me to do so.
