We repeatedly asked for a quote prior to the work being provided but were told the boat needed to be seen before. Once the boat arrived at the marina I called to request a quote, again, and was told it was not possible. I explained that I was quoted around $600 with our certified Formula technician and was told "that's a good price." The next day I get an invoice for $1,722 with a follow up phone call requesting immediate payment. I wish I would have done my homework prior to agreeing Harrison's Yacht Yard to perform our work as I would have been prudent in shopping around for additional quotes/negotiating opportunities. For you, the reader's benefit, we were charged the following: $13/sq ft for haul out services (at our Ohio yacht club it is $6/sq ft). A $200 trailer load fee. A $200 fork lift fee. And $110 per labor hour (similar to Ohio). On their website they advertise $12/sq ft haul out and $150 fork-truck fees. It's unfortunate we were charged more simply because they could. The reason for two stars is because the work was performed well and I have no complaints with the quality of work. I am frustrated because it seems Harrisons has had complains with providing accurate quotes and being transparent about their prices. This should change so clients like myself do not feel taken advantage of. - Heather Graham

I have been in the island for almost three years. Have two boats in Castle Harbor Marina…read more Everywhere I go on this island I get the screw. Lies and rip offs. I needed a new motor on my center console. Wanted a Suzuki. Went to A&M. Mike the owner walked me through engine selection. And I put a deposit down. Only $1000 and he bought the motor. Ten days or so I get a call motor in bring my boat. I was sick real sick and almost two months went by. About the time I was getting in my feet, mike called and offered to get the boat in for me. I said I could handle it now. I felt bad for tying up his money for so long. He was very understanding. So I took the boat in and he asked for no money??? He said it will be done in two weeks. I laughed all the way back to my truck. No one on this island gets anything done in two weeks. Let alone a big job like this. 10 TEN days later he calls and says its ready. What a beautiful installation. New shifter dash and motor. I read the review the man wrote above. After I deposited. I was scared to be honest. But my experience could have been more opposite. I STRONGLY recommend Mike and the folks that work at A&M. Thanks you guys ROCK!!!!!

They advised me that I should have my fuel system pumped out as the boat headset for years prior to my purchase. They pumped out 20 gallons and charged me $305 for the service. After receiving my boat and approximately 18 hours of run time, the boat broke down. After troubleshooting it myself I noticed that there was a severe vacuum in the primer ball and that the fuel filters were completely clogged with gunk from the bottom of my fuel tank. I ended up having a seven hour tow back to the pier and ruined my memorial day! Speaking to them today they say they are not responsible for it and they only pumped out the fuel and that is all. And that they do not inspect or clean the tanks. My question is if it is not the mechanics responsibility to at least check these things then who's is it? I am the customer not the mechanic. $305 to remove 20 gallons of old fuel seems a little steep I would've expected to have my boat running properly for quite a long time and 18 hours! Now I must pull the boat myself and take care of the problem by myself. It is no wonder that boat mechanics have a bad reputation!

My boat needed an Alternator on my Galeon and it was ordered, delivered and installed all within the time frame quoted. Price quotes were provided prior to any work starting. Mike even addressed professionally my concern for alarms generated and then cleared by their worked performed. All is well and very satisfied with their professionalism. Basically I had them remove the Electronic Integration Module (EIM) and replace it with an analog control system from FP Marine. The EIM was failing and there is no replacement but FP marine has a pre-wired system where all the dash controls are replaced. Along with winterization, this project and re-packing the rudders and spring commissioning everything was done with care, on time and within budget. I could not be happier as I have had other "professionals" in the past years do shoddy work, over budget and months past the work complete dates. Stephanie and Mike were a joy to work with and will be hired to do a few more upgrades soon. My wife is thrilled as we were planning on selling the boat in the fall and now she wants to have Seven Seas do more upgrades and keep her for a few more years. Thanks to Frank for doing such a great job with the FP project.
