When I walked in my hair was below my tail bone, I literally grabbed my hair and showed her how much to cut which was about 3 inches. Now my hair is to my shoulders!!!! How in the world do you cut off over a foot of hair when I showed you exactly how much I wanted to cut. How do you mistake 3 inches and over a foot how how how?!!!! I'm so mad and she didn't even say anything. Oh and the cut is straight as in no layers like I asked and I can't even get it fixed because it's already way too short. Looking for a place where I can get a cut, shampoo, and a style that does not charge an arm and leg but at the same time makes an effort despite charging reasonable prices. I know that can be alot to ask because typically you either pay an arm and a leg or it's cheap but you end up with a rushed crappy style and cut. I know there has to be a place where you can both and I found it here. I liked the yelp reviews so I called and made an appointment and they were available to take me on the same day. Well that is a major plus for me. I had my appointment at 3:00 and was running a little behind schedule and i called them to tell them and they were totally nice about it. Monyan did my hair and she was great. Not only was she sweet but she did an amazing job on my hair. She took her time and did not rush. She is very gentle also. From the wash to the cut to the style it all felt like one big head and scalp massage. She has the most gentle hands ever. My hair can be thick and get tangled and that has caused pain in the past but she handled it without pulling once. It was a painless and relaxing experience. So relaxing that I almost fell asleep! She engaged me in conversation and made me feel cared about. She makes me want to get my hair done more often. I know that this an old salon but I like the fact that they have been in business as long as they have. I would rather support small local businesses like this one. I don't think the place is so outdated looking but that is just me. It is nice and clean and they get the job done. It looks small on the outside but it bigger inside. Looks can be deceiving. They also have alot of product there and it is priced good. I think it is safe to say I have found a good place to get my hair done. For $30 I got a cut, a wash and a style and a great one at that. I arrived home tonight from work to be welcomed home by my wife who has an amazing new hair cut courtesy of Jenna at Sadie's Styling Salon. When I walked in the door I immediately noticed my wife had her hair done, and after closer examination, it was a Beautiful haircut indeed! I can't get over what an amazing job Jenna did, I just had to jump on Yelp before I ate dinner to write this review. I go to Sadie's for brow wax's and product. Alicia is the only person i will go to in Manteca for a brow wax. She does a fantastic job. I have been pleased every time. I also love the fact that she is always on time, always!!! I can almost always find any hair product i am looking for here and if they are out they will order. I was very impressed when i requested a leave in conditioner and when it did not arrive when anticipated the staff called me and informed me. I think they provided excellent costumer service. I have gone to Amber Marie for years and years...I even moved to Chico and STILL would come back to good ol' Teca especially for her! I have always been in love with my hair when she's done. I am in shock over the treatment of a 16 year old girl who's hair was intentionally toned green! Accidents/mistakes happen but to be treated in such an horrific way when we returned to show these very unprofessional people the terrible thing Tricia did to the young girl's hair was beyond the pale...How this place stays in business with people like that is beyond me. Rather than say they/she were/was sorry for what happened they got high-handed and abusive. Then to add injury to insult they offered to TRY and fix the GREEN they wanted more money....?! Really. I guess they only cater to really old woman who don't care what they look like judging from what I saw when I was sitting there wondering why the teenager would have chosen such a place??? I was brand spankin' new in Manteca and needed a hair cut, so I searched online and in the phone book to see what salons might be good options. Sadie's had good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I made an appointment w/ one stylist but because I was early, I was asked if I would mind another woman helping me and having never been there before, that did not make a difference to me. I got a hair cut and one-color process which cost me $100 (plus tip)--I had long layered hair that reached about the center of my back. I believe the woman who cut my hair is called Linda, or Lisa, but I can't say w/ certainty. For what was done to my hair, I do think I paid too much; Sadie's isn't a high-class salon after all, and to be honest, I didn't like the way the stylist cut my hair. Perhaps someone else might have done a better job, but I haven't been back since. I haven't necessarily ruled them out all together; but I wouldn't be serviced by the same stylist again. read more

I'm not sure who cut my hair, she never introduced herself to me, I've had the same haircut for almost 10 years now. All she needed to do was trim it. Few layers in the back, and frame my face. I don't know what happened. I now have the first bad haircut of my life. I'm not particular about my hair, but what this lady did is terrible! I have a huge shelf in the front of my hair. The layers in the back are not consistent at all. It's basically random lengths all throughout my hair with no rhyme or reason. Imagine cutting your hair with a can opener. I knew something was up because she was using techniques I've never seen before, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt since she is the professional. My hair is very curly and I didn't get it styled there, so I had no idea how bad it was until after I got it straightened at home. I almost don't even want to go outside like this. Maybe the salon would try to fix it for me, but honestly I don't even trust them enough to go back. I'm pretty shocked and upset. All around bad bad bad experience to say the least. If you go here I would definitely only make an appointment with the people who have been rated positively. read more

I am a Senior & I used a coupon from the newspaper for a "young at heart" haircut. Made my appt. I arrived early before opening and a gentleman came around & opened the door for me because he saw me when he was driving by to go park in back. My hairdresser arrived and was called twice before she came to get me passing me by to get towels folding them, etc. She cut my hair ok, I wasn't offered a mirror to see the back, when she took off my apron, my shirt was very wet down about 4 inches, she did not use a neck wrap tissue or towel with the apron. I understand I was only paying for a cut only not including a blow dry, but a quick swipe with the blow dryer to blow away the loose hair that always remains everywhere. I also mentioned my previous hairdresser moved away , this one didn't even mention her name, I only heard it when they called her from the front. Guess she wasn't interested in any return business from me or anyone else I might mention it too Will I go back, not to this person anyway!! read more

I had great service years ago when I came for a haircut and updo. I tried this salon again after moving back to the area and had a bad experience. I went in for a trim with an appointment, I was the only customer and all the stylists were sitting around talking. Once my appointment started I told the lady what I wanted and was completely ignored after. I have long hair and she finished my cut in less than 10mins. Only trimmed the very ends of my longest layer. Nothing else. Complete waste of time and money. read more

It's been a long time since I've been to a beauty salon that was fun. Everyone is extremely happy and you can tell with the employee's that they are treated well. I give management tons of kudos for keeping a positive upbeat atmosphere and for everyone that works there for making it a wonderful experience. Jenna styled my hair exactly how I wanted it. I came in feeling drab and left feeling like a movie star. She is exceptional with hair and I was actually referred to her by Denise at U.S. Bank. I believe the woman was Kristin or Christina who did my eyebrows and lip was by far the most talented person to ever touch my brows. She too listened to what I wanted and gave me better brows than I could of expected. If you have not tried Sadie's, you're missing out. Im a really picky person when it comes to my hair. Had one person who used to do my hair and color after the first time of saying what I wanted and only went to this particular person. After she left the salon, have not found one decent person to take care of my hair since. I read the reviews on Sadie's place and decided to give it a try. Was recommended to Tricia, because I love A line's, but tried to grow my hair out and after while wanted it short again. So I went to Tricia, told her what I wanted, also made her aware I'm a very very picky (my mom is a retired cosmo teacher) after a sit with her my hair came out beautifully! I usually don't have it styled or blown, I'm picky on that too,as I usually just get a cut and blow and style myself, but she did all that on her own, but it came out so nice I wasnt upset lol. I recommend Sadies a shot to try, but next time ask if I want more than a cut ;) great job Tricia and ill be back for a trim ! A friend of a friend recommend this place after moving here. I walked in and about walked right back out at first sight - it was absolutely filthy!! They went to wash my long hair in the nasty, dirty sink and I freaked out - disgusting! I literally gagged. I wasn't pleased with the cut at all and the price was just as high as other full service salons in the area. I had requested who I was told to request, which is who they booked the appt with but when I showed up, that person was nowhere to be found and they had to give me someone else that didn't seem to know what she was doing. Check out Mimosa's on Yosemite or Govoras on Main - they both offer drinks while getting your cut and priced all around the same. Sadie's can keep their filth - I won't be returning. read more

Now that I have had my hair done there, I seriously question the validity of those 5 star reviews. My hair looked horrible. All I asked for was a simple flat iron. I should have known it was going to be bad when the woman didnt shampoo or condition properly. She claimed to have been doing hair for 25 years, but clearly didnt know how to do hair. When I first came to Manteca 21 years ago, I was referred to Sadies by a neighbor. I was new in the area and did not know of a good hairdresser. I went once and was pleased with how my hair turned out. I made another appointment for 5 weeks and it was for afterwork at 5:30. I got there at 5:25 and saw the gal who did my hair finishing up on another client so I sat out front in the waiting room and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited and waited. I finally got up and asked the person behind the desk if my appointment was for 5:30. She said yes, and that the gal I was waiting for was just finishing up. So I sat back down and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. Finally at 6:00 I got up and looked back and saw my gal and her client just chatting away, so I turned on my heel and left. Have never been back since, will never go back and have never recommended Sadies to anyone. My family is new to Manteca and we've been searching for a place where my husband can get his curly hair cut and his brows waxed. He's very particular about how his hair is cut and it's important that the person be experienced with curly hair as it's a little more intricate to cut. Anyway, I called Sadie's for him based on the other yelp reviews and the receptionist informed me that she had 2 stylists avail and that one has curly hair so she might be better for my husband. I set up the appt. and was confident that this place would work out great. Unfortunately, Martha the person he was supposed to see was running behind on a female client's hair and after about 15 min. the receptionist went to ask Martha about taking care of my husband, to which she shrugged, looked at him and basically had the receptionist find someone else to cut his hair. That was disappointment #1 - no apology for running behind, no interest in cutting his hair (a potential new and forever client not to mention I, his wife, want to find a person too). 2nd, the person (name not remembered) who cut his hair didn't even trim his neck up very well. It was spotty all over - the cut itself was OK but not clean at all. Anyway, if this is the way Sadie's or it's stylists treat NEW clients - then forget it. Never again. My normal girl at another salon was not available on short notice. I took a chance and made an appointment with Rikki. I was 15 minutes early, she was a little late so I was already anxious~ first impressions....I knew I was going to have a lot done. Color, highlight, wash, cut and style. I'm thinking to myself "Oh my, it's going to be a long night". Well it only took her less than 2 hours. She knew exactly what I wanted and knew how to do it. I have naturally curly hair and she asked if she could dry and roll brush my hair and I said sure, why not. OMG... I was like looking at a different person in the mirror. The girls in the salon thought I didn't like the color or the cut, I loved it. Love it. But the straight hair, I need to get use to :) Oh and the price, was an added treat.
