For us they are local and even if you're not they are right off 680. I've finally found a Dentist that I'll keep (after a bad experience when I lived in Brentwood, that kept me from going to the Dentist for a few years). It's nice to feel like family and have someone you can trust when it comes to dental work. I've recommended them many times to friends and coworkers.

I called Cuenin Orthodontics half expecting to be told there was nothing they could do. Instead they brought her in the same day. Dr. Kyle and his staff fixed the wire that was digging into her cheek and made sure everything would hold and her treatment would remain on-track until she's back with her own orthodontist. Then they refused to let me pay a cent. My niece has spent this whole trip telling us how kind Americans are. She called her mom afterward to gush about it. Her mom was stunned that a practice would do that for a stranger passing through. That's the impression Dr. Kyle and the entire team at Cuenin Orthodontics left on a visiting teenager, and on her family halfway around the world. Thank you doesn't quite cover it. Our former dental office, Grant Rickey, DDS referred my daughter to this office years ago regarding a slight crossbite my daughter had. We trusted that former dentist (shame on us) and did make an appointment with Michael Kasso for some special X-Rays, which were very expensive. He also took some still shots of her face, including profile photos. Upon reviewing the photos with him, he rudely told my daughter she looked deformed. Deformed?!!! Hell NO she does NOT look deformed, for crying out loud. Honestly, her slight crossbite had not been noticeable to any family or friends. He then went on to tell us a less invasive procedure would probably not benefit her situation and that a VERY expensive, over $10K surgery would probably be necessary. That extremely invasive surgery entailed cutting open the entire roof of her mouth. We did not believe him and discontinued any further ripoffs...I mean "service" from him. The second he insulted my daughter, he lost all credibility from me. I don't go for cheap shot sales pitches. Interestingly, upon another visit to Grant Rickey's dental office, a different dentist examined my daughter's mouth and said her crossbite was so slight that no action was needed. Interesting. My daughter is in excellent, top-notch dental care now. Phewwwwwwwww. Just last week, our dentist his fabulous hygienist, my daughter and I chatted about what went down at Kasso's office. The dental professionals were appalled by what my daughter endured at Kasso's office as are we. I also know other people who were told they needed expensive procedures done at Kasso's office. What a shame for those who followed through with possibly unnecessary dental work. Sadly, we cannot always trust our dentists. We learned that many years ago. I can not stress enough how important it is to get second opinions on dental work. Not only can unnecessary procedures cost you an enormous amount of money, procedures do not always go smoothly and you can end up with further issues and needless pain. And, search and search this planet until you do find a trustworthy dentist. There are great ones who put the patient's needs and well-being first. We also know for a fact there are dentists out there who have one goal... to fatten their pocketbooks. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... wrong reason to get into dentistry. --$--$--$--$--$--$--$--$--

The orthodontist told her that whomever her orthodontist was he had done a wonderful job. He said that her teeth were in perfect alignment, her bite was perfect and he said her teeth were a magnificent job of good ortho work. She has started grinding her teeth which is the cause for the visit. After over 23 years, thank you, thank you, Dr. Kasso, for your great work!

She also said my son would need braces. I went straight to Dr. Kapus! (At the time, he was still in Cupertino). He said the teeth were dead, but the gums were strong and holding them in place, so they could fall out naturally. When my son was 5 years old, my dentist STILL wanted to pull his teeth. By 8, he lost all the 4 dead teeth (naturally). Dr. Kapus said if my dentist pulled those teeth, my son's adult teeth would've moved forward and he'd run out of space in his mouth. We're still watching his teeth, but Dr. Kapus said my son will probably only need a spacer to help his small jaw make room for his adult teeth. Much different diagnose than my dentist gave! We go to Dr. Kapus (now in Livermore) once a year to have him check the progress on my 9 year old son's teeth. The trip from Santa Clara is well worth it because everyone there is incredibly outgoing, friendly and kind. Plus Dr. Kapus has a fun, child-friendly office that always keeps my son entertained. I'm a teacher and tell my children's families about Dr. Kapus and his team as well!

Now, I was hesitant to try a new place in Richmond, but it's actually right off the freeway and just a couple blocks from Target, so super convenient for me. I called and the receptionist was just the right balance of business and bubbly. She answered my questions about my insurance and found a time that worked for me to come in. Two weeks later, I went in for my appointment. Again, friendly and welcoming reception upon arrival. Pretty standard waiting room and equipment from what I could tell. The dentist and assistant were both professional, super friendly and gentle. Luckily it was just an abscess that was bothering me, so they worked their magic and I was in and out with no need for a follow up. I scheduled my next cleaning for 6 months down the road and that was that. My friend gave me a good recommendation and I will gladly make the same recommendation for anyone looking for a new dentist office in the area.

I was told to change my filling as I had insurance money available, if I didn't use it I would loose it. So I trusted and excepted a cosmetic work to be done. Next thing I knew, I needed a root canal, they try to fix for a second time and failed. Being that they couldn't get it right, I went on to another establishment and ended up loosing my tooth. I ended up paying 6,000 for a implant at the second establishment. This was years ago.... Years later, few weeks ago, my regular dentist not being available for a chip repair I called and schedule a appointment requesting my chip to be repaired. Upon arrival I was told I was getting a cleaning! So I explained again exactly what I needed twice to two employees and proceed with appointment, the doctor said he didn't have time and it would only be a consultation as he didn't have time. ( I excepted as I wanted to be understanding) before I walked out I was told I needed a root canal and the chip wasn't just a chip? Wow memories! I went to see my regular Dentist the next day and got my chip repaired, been just fine since! I want to trust all establishment working on me! This establishment lost my trust 8-9 years ago and again in 2019. Questionable decisions!
