This was my first tattoo, and the experience was excellent! Vince was my artist; we set up a phone consult first (which I appreciated since I live two hours away) and then the ink appointment a couple months later. They're clearly in-demand, so be courteous and expect to book well in advance. I had a lot of nerves going into it but Vince and the rest of the staff were very supportive and excited for me. He was kind and talked me through the whole set-up process. We finalized artwork details together, deliberated about final placement until we were both happy, and I never felt rushed to make decisions. He was very patient with me and that helped to calm whatever nerves I had left. The inking process went much quicker than I anticipated, but even so he checked in on me periodically to make sure I was okay, was kind enough to share his process and the educational path to becoming a tattoo artist, and the conversation was easy. Aftercare instructions were simple and well explained. The entire space is comfortable, the music was eclectic and fun, and their bathroom is top-notch clean! I'm so happy with the artwork and the entire experience. Feedback from friends has been overwhelmingly positive: vibrant, crisp, excellent line work. I had a consultation scheduled and then that artist left so I was set up with a new incoming one. The new incoming one had a phone consultation in May with me and all went well. She said she would contact me when she moved to the area so we could get it scheduled. This was supposed to be the in beginning of July and I never heard a word after the phone consultation in May. Leaving Dan and everyone a review because I told Dan he needs to step up his yelp review game. I've never heard one negative thing about Sacred so how they don't have more reviews I'm not sure. I've gotten two tattoos done here now and I have not one negative thing to say. Daniel Hughes has tattooed me and so has Dan Pemble who just did my most recent coverup and he is the best. Nothing but positive things to say. Sacred is a clean, organized, beyond professional, tattoo shop located in Marquette, Michigan. I came to visit from Orlando, Florida and without a doubt I waited specifically to get my tattoo done here. Called two months prior to schedule my Appoitment, since it was a cover up, I'm not local I had a phone consult sent photos over and we discussed what I wanted. Dan put together a beautiful design of a rose with leafs to cover up a tattoo on my foot and he went above and beyond. He free handed the design on my foot with sharpie and we went from there. I wish I was half as talented as Dan. He knows what he's doing, he's a great business owner, and I have a lot of respect for this man as an artist and business owner. Daniel for my previous tattoo also, created something unique, different and put my thoughts into something that i could've never created for my boyfriend that had passed away. I appreciate the fact that he was able to create something beautiful and unique, it's not something you would see anywhere else. He took my generalized thoughts and turned it into something i could've never imagined. The artist here are truly talented and earn all my respect. I'll come back again and again to get tattooed here. I even talked to Dan about doing another tattoo before I left which I 100% plan on having him do. I will gladly make the trip up from Orlando to Marquette to see Dan. Not only are Dan and Daniel great people; but I have nothing but positive things to say about Nate, David, Nicole, and everyone here. They make you feel welcome, comfortable, and create a positive fun atmosphere. They made it a little tough as I couldn't help but laugh at topics we all discussed as I was getting tattooed which caused me to jerk my foot a little, making it even more painful lol. I will recommend Sacred to anyone and everyone over and over. We've had our conversions about reviews today, but Dan truly deserves 5+ stars and nothing less. read more

Sacred is beyond one of the best tattoo parlors I've ever been to. Even though this is my first tattoo experience, I've been to many tattoo shops around and in Marquette and this place is by far the most welcoming, cleanest, classiest, and comforting places I've been to. Walking into a tattoo parlor is always kind of a nerve-racking thing for me especially since I myself didn't have any tattoos before last week. Nicole and her fellow artists made me feel comfortable and totally welcome for me to ask questions. Even though I was a TOTAL wimp about getting my first tattoo and was totally not the ideal client, Nicole was super awesome with me. 10/10 would recommend Sacred as your next Tattoo shop. read more

A warm great atmosphere with three incredibly talented artists doing great work and caring about what they do and the clients they do it for. Remembered hours before a 7 hour drive trip up to Marquette that I'd been wanting to get some work from this shop for some time. While everyone was, as expected, booked and unable to get a large piece in with no notice, they did work with me and manage to slide me and a friend in at the end of the day for quick souvenir pieces. Daniel Hughes was awesome. I have 100+ hours of tattoo work, and it was my friends first. He nailed what we wanted perfect. Shop was a professional and clean as they come. Communication was great. Everybody in there was great. Dan's shop is known throughout the country and there's a reason why. The studio is clean and professionally decorated- simple and classy, and not cluttered with frames of flash. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. The tattoos we got were done beautifully and quickly. The reason for 4 stars is 1) we asked the lady booking our apt an estimated cost and she told us roughly shop minimum- $70. She said it depends on the artist but shouldn't be much more than that. She took the deposit and said "one of your tattoos is paid for now, we'll apply the deposit to the tattoo." However, after all was said and done, we go to pay and then she informs us, all of our tattoos would be $100. $30 is kind of a big difference. We paid because it was more about getting tattoos together before we all went out separate ways- but it would've been nice to know and budget a little better. 2) our artist did one of us (4 of us total) and then decided to stop for lunch. We booked appointments, we weren't walk ins, so you kind of have the advantage to plan ahead, but no, let's stop and eat and make 3/4 of my customers wait. Slightly irritating, it's not like we had huge pieces- just some shop minimum tattoos that were all done in 10-15 minutes. The biggest positive is that there wasn't a sense of douchbagger or elitist hipster attitude like in the Ann Arbor area, everyone was generally nice. read more
