Another update! Back to report that the new configuration of spin class downstairs and mat classes…read more(like yoga, barre, and pilates) upstairs works very well. I've been loving Monday night spin classes with Zain - he is an incredible instructor with the best playlists. His class is some of the most fun I've had at a workout class. It feels more like dancing with a group of friends than working out. I bike about 10 miles in his 45 minute class which is something I just never thought I'd be capable of. I've also been enjoying Wednesday evening barre classes upstairs with Erin. This is a new class and I hope they keep it on the schedule! Erin is a great instructor who queues very clearly and makes the class feel fun with her high energy. As someone who primarily weight lifts, barre is such a refreshing challenge for me. I feel like I'm learning a whole new skill set in that class. For a bit, I was also liking the Thursday evening mat pilates class with Chi but they seemed to have taken it off the schedule now :( The weight training areas continue to be conducive for a great workout. My only wish would be that they replace some of the elliptical machines with treadmills. When the gym gets a little busy, it's easy for the treadmills to fill up pretty fast since there's about 8 treadmills total. Whereas, there's probably twice as many ellipticals and I don't think I've ever seen more than a few people using them at a time. I'm also not a huge fan of the fact that you now how to ask the front desk for a towel - this isn't something I've seen at any of the other locations. The bathrooms are a bit outdated and could use some updating as well.

Love this gym! The staff are so friendly and the facilities are always clean. I have all of the…read moreequipment that I need for my lifts, which I also really appreciate.

Don't join this gym unless you're ready for them to fraudulently charge you $680 several months after you have canceled the membership. However, before I even stepped foot into the gym, multiple employees called and text me. I feel like this, and I am sure others do too, of I say I will be there on Monday, I will be there on Monday. Unfortunately, they will call and text you almost everyday, even after you share when you will take a tour. Look, I don't owe you any money, don't call me as if I do. I couldn't take the harassment and never even went to take a tour. If employees can't respect my time, I don't want to be a member.

So I recently quit my old gym and decided to sign up for Brick Bodies again. The facility is small…read morebut well maintained with a decently equipped weight room and tons of treadmills, stair masters, and ellipticals. One of my biggest complaints about my old gym was that it didn't have nearly enough treadmills for the size of the facility so I was often waiting for someone to leave at peak hours. This has never been an issue at Brick Bodies. I also love that the cycling room is typically open and available for use even if there's no class going on. The locker rooms are oftentimes clean and I love the lockers with built in locks -- no need to bring your own! I don't do any of the classes here anymore (mainly because I'm also a CorePower member and prefer their classes) but they offer a wide array for different skill levels. I took one barre class here but wasn't a fan of the instructor and the pace of the class wasn't intense enough for me. I would love to see towel service be introduced here. When I joined back in 2021 I thought the lack of towels was a Covid-era, thing but fast forward to 2026 and they still don't provide any. It's $50 a month ($25 every two weeks) making it a more affordable option compared to my previous gym.

This Planet Fitness is a completely serviceable, average example of the PF franchise. It's usually…read morereasonably clean, has enough equipment to accommodate everyone with limited waiting except during peak hours, and mostly polite patrons. The price is definitely right: $24 a month for the cheaper plan advertised as "$15/month" and $29 a month for the "$24.99" "Black" membership that allows you to use any PF location, massage chairs and tanning beds. (Actual prices I mentioned includes the additional annual and starting fees). The downsides--not horrible issues, but at times bothersome: -Dumbbells max at 75 lbs -No barbells/benches--only Smith machines -Some equipment needing servicing -The locker rooms seem to be in a constant state of disrepair with damaged stalls and showers, which seems common at many gyms -Staff don't seem inclined to remind patrons to be respectful of others when they are loudly moaning from pleasurable workouts, shouting music lyrics, and playing music on speakers

Outstanding downtown location…read more Larger space and more workout equipment than Merritt and other gyms in the area. The workout equipment is excellent, generally kept in decent condition and updated regularly. Simple, fair membership agreements that can be canceled, temporarily suspended, changed to other PF locations, all easily. This is NOT common in the fitness industry. Other clubs seem to compete for which one can write the most one-sided, burdensome and overall toxic membership agreements. A simple $25/month membership allows one to visit any Planet Fitness facility in the world and there are around 2,500 Planet Fitness facilities. With a Black Card ($25/month) membership, you can bring a guest whenever you wish. Never any charge for bringing one guest. You can bring more than one guest for a small payment. Easy going staff, chill ambience. The folks who work out here are mostly there to work out. Negatives? The locker rooms need to be updated. They don't have a pool or sauna. But overall, for a large, well-equipped urban fitness center, Planet Fitness on Charles Street is extraordinarily well-priced and in my view a great place to work out for those of us who work, live or visit in the urban core of Baltimore City.

She created my lifting program for me each week, I completed my workouts at home and sent her videos of my lifts throughout the week for feedback, and every month I visited her awesome gym in Baltimore for an in-person coaching session. Choosing to work with Emily was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my fitness journey. Not only is she incredibly knowledgable about lifting, but she's also fun, patient, and encouraging! My form on all of my lifts (squat, deadlift, overhead press, and bench press) improved dramatically as a result of Emily's coaching. She pointed out corrections that I would have never noticed on my own. Her guidance gave me the knowledge and confidence to add some serious weight to my lifts and now I'm stronger than I have ever been in my life.
