Beautiful doors. Clay for pottery
Kendell B.

The name says it all- this place is a sacred gem. My mom and I wanted to visit an authentic coffee farm while visiting Kona. We were looking for somewhere that wasn't a tourist trap and I had noticed this while driving by one day. The turn into the parking lot is a little bit sharp- we missed it about three times before we finally got it! Haha Once there, we were taken aback by the beauty of the view. They have a large deck that overlooks the hill and the ocean and it is just stunning. They have plenty of seating available, I really enjoyed sitting in a swinging chair that they had. This place is truly a place of community. We sat on the patio next to a couple on their honeymoon and enjoyed chatting with them for a while. It was such a peaceful place. When you order, they let you enjoy your drink and/or food prior to paying which is a nice change of pace. You can pay when you leave. The owner is also a potter, so there are many beautiful ceramics available for sale. I've never seen his style of art before in ceramics. They also sell t-shirts, jewelry, and of course, their coffee. My mom ordered a decaf vanilla latte, and I had a chai latte. Both were exceptional. My mom was happy to have finally found somewhere with decaf coffee. If you're visiting Kona and you're looking for a space of solitude that truly brings your soul peace, this is one of the places you should visit. It's a space where your soul can recharge.

Okay, listen, I could've done without the Christian music and decor, buuuuuut... it's not like I wasn't warned with the name. I just assumed this was a reconverted church turned coffee house that decided to capitalize on it by using a meta name. BUT I DIGRESS! People are allowed their personal beliefs, and if the food, drinks and service is this good, I guess I can accept the minor proselytism. I just would've enjoyed it more if the atmosphere was more neutral; otherwise this would be the perfect place to work, read/write and take in the gorgeous views. I tried to read, but kept getting distracted by the Christian rock. Most everything is handmade, and you can tell it's done with love. The dishes and desserts were as beautiful as they were satisfying. And I could survive on those lattes alone, they're so good! The staff was very kind and made sure we were satisfied throughout our visit. This is absolutely a place I wouldn't mind supporting again, albeit with headphones in.

If you have the chance do yourself a favor and stop in!! This is a friendly reminder of the aloha spirit! The backdrop of the sweeping lush green landscape to the big ocean is breathtaking and relaxing. This is a local coffee land so grab a cup and taste the richness of the land. The food menu is not big but the breakfast was amazing. Smoothies are perfect. Get a lb of coffee beans and some fresh macadamia nuts as your island souvenir. Beautiful pottery. I definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I had the most amazing experience here. We arrived at 2:30 just after Bill's lunch break and he gave us an extremely warm welcome followed by a personal tour of the grounds, the plants and fruit they grow. He makes chocolate, as well as woodworking, and pottery too. His pottery studio takes up a portion of the shop too with a display of his beautiful ceramic and wood pieces. He gave us coffee and macadamia nuts grown on the grounds to taste with our coffee. Everything was unbelievably delicious. On top of everything one of the best views we'd had in our time on the island. I can't promise this same experience to everyone as there was no one else there but he made us feel so special and was unbelievably kind. Can't recommend this place enough!

Will be returning here for every visit. Just let Bill take care of you as he is passionate about his farm, cuisine, and experience of his passions. Honestly the best meal we had and our first time on the island. Was offered a tour of the farm and really enjoyed the views! See you again very soon! Mahalo!

Beautiful little tucked away piece of heaven. Good view with some great coffee. And they have a Christian undertone but being reminded in something bigger than yourself never hurt anyone.

Don't bother going to that Coffee Shack tourist trap, this is the place. The view is unmatched, the service warm and friendly, and the owner is genuinely passionate about welcoming guests to his café et coffee farm. Experience felt incredibly authentic. Oh and of course, the coffee was delicious.

As coffee lovers, Heavenly Hawaiian constantly came up in my research and I'm glad we toured for ourselves. The grounds itself are absolutely gorgeous and that view from the hill onto the ocean is unreal! I can't for the life of me remember our tour guides name but she was such a joy and extremely knowledgeable. Learning about the different coffee variants that are grown such as Kona typica, Progeny 502, and the "boujee girl" Geisha was awesome to learn about and see for ourselves. Did I mention endless coffee sampling? Such a relaxing atmosphere to sip all the coffee you want and enjoy that view. And the cutest cats on the property were such a delight mingling with the guests. All staff members were so helpful and they even treated us with a goodie bag of freshly picked fruits from the farm and a bag of peaberry bites (my new favorite) all as a thank you for paying a visit on our honeymoon! Was not expecting that all but such a sweet gesture! I would highly recommend Heavenly Hawaiian farms to anyone if you're on the Big Island or in the Kona area. Absolutely worth the trip up the hill and to feel the aloha from the staff and grounds.

The land itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views that make you want to linger a little longer and soak it all in. You can tell how much care and pride goes into everything they do here. We learned so much about what makes these coffee beans so special, from how they are grown and harvested to how they are processed and roasted. It gave me a whole new appreciation for every sip. And Ben, our tour guide, was incredible. So charming, so knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made the experience engaging and memorable from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour if you are anywhere near Kona. It is an experience you will not forget.

A web search led me to Kona Premium Coffee Company (Cornwell no longer exists) and only a website and no purchasing information besides online/shipping. I had the business card so we drove to the Bishop Road location at 4:50 pm on a Wednesday as the office is open until 5 pm. All signs pointed to Heavenly Hawaiian Farms (not Kona Premium). Clearly not a store front and no one was in the office. We called and it went to the answering machine that we heard behind the office door. The next day I called as all the listings said the farm tour and tastings were by appointment only. I left a message and no one ever returned my call. The answering machine also lists a number of businesses so I'm not sure what's going on. Now, the plus side to this trip is on the way down the hill, there was an unstaffed roadside stand for Morning Glory Farms where I bought coffee ($20/half pound - great price) and some fresh fruit. Paid by Venmo, all was delicious.

A pleasant and comfortable camping experience on the Big Island…read more As a solo woman, I spent 9 nights in the Jungle Canopy at Gingerhill Farm Retreat in April 2026. I had an excellent stay, although I am used to camping, and feel that having a camping mindset is required for staying here. Yes, the chorus of frogs are very loud as soon as it's dark, and you can hear roosters in the distance in the morning along with bird songs. However, I enjoyed the noises and am an early riser. The Jungle Canopy is located close to the private residence, and I experienced little human noise. There was one nighttime rain and no leaks. The screened-in bedroom is functional, and the bed has a good (firm) mattress. The sink and toilet, screened off and behind the bed, are nice to have in this enlarged tent. The shower is a few feet outside the tented bedroom/kitchen, and is open to the sky (cool to look up at the tree canopy). The shower is very nice, and the water gets hot. There is no door, but the only way you can be seen is from the Jungle Canopy tent itself (you can hang a sarong if you needed more privacy). They provide face clothes and towels, two worn beach towels, as well as family-size liquid hand soap, shampoo and conditioner (decent quality). The kitchen, in front of the screened bedroom, also under a canopy, has everything you need: pots and pans (including a few that are stainless steel), a good size fridge with a small enclosed freezer (with 2 freezer packs), a sink with dish soap, etc. They provide a Berkey-like water filter carboy, a stainless-steel kettle to boil water, as well as coffee beans, a grinder, and French-press. There is a small table with two chairs where you can look at beautiful tropical plants. The only bummer is that the hot plate to cook food and boil the kettle can be slow to heat, especially if there is a slight breeze. Once the propane tank emptied while I was cooking breakfast and I had to text to ask for a replacement, however, someone came over right away and I was able to resume cooking. Like camping, you are responsible for taking out your own trash to communal cans located a fairly short distance away. You can't put any toilet paper down the toilet, so all paper used for #1 and #2 needs to go into a plastic-bag-lined trash can and you remove and dump. They removed the compost. Recommendations to Gingerhill: provide more plastic bags for trash, more toilet paper (I had to ask), and offer a larger compost bucket as it filled too quickly. Also, one day I came back in the afternoon and found the gate code didn't work. I texted and called and fairly soon someone told me that they changed the code, but didn't notify me. Next time they change the code they should text all visitors staying at the farm the new code. So, in all, I would give a 9/10 ranking, especially given the cost compared to other accommodations, and the tropical farm experience. FYI, there is snorkeling gear that you can use that is located next to the Sunset Cottage.
