Bruno after scattering toys for me to "fetch"

After a bit of a wait ( we went on a Saturday, it was busy ) we came home with a sweet little dog. There were many larger dogs all would have made great companions

Our kitty, Whiskers Stripes Sunkiss,!!! Adopted her 13 yrs ago!!! Best decision ever!!!

I'm always greeted the minute I walk in. This kind lady saw that I was admiring a kitty in a room & told us that we can go in & see the kitty. The kitty was very friendly!!! As we walked around saying hi 2 all the animals, we saw all the workers being kind 2 the animals & making sure things were clean 4 them. We adopted our kitty from them 13yrs ago & we have spoiled her!!! We go back every now & them 2 say hi 2 all the babies & wish them luck on getting adopted!!! We will adopt again from them 1 day!!!

Last year I was searching for a companion for my 13 yo yorkie, as her brother had passed ... I saw Cody on their website - his spca photo is attached ... I went in first thing the following day and adopted him ... he was 6 yo and needed to be fixed so I was able to bring him home a few days later - spca has been great in following up on some medical issues and just checking in on how he's been doing!!

This is the WORST clinic I have ever seen in my life. The employees are completely rude & not at all compassionate. I was forced into surrendering my 2 dogs that I've had for 6 years. These were my babies....I was a complete wreck. I was hysterically crying...and the lady who did my intake was really rude and made me feel like I was giving my dogs away with no good reason at all. They tell you that there's a 72 hour evaluation process and after that 72 hours, the dog should be moved up to the adoption floor. They tell you that they will not give you any updates and that you're not allowed to come and visit them at all. They tell you that if the dogs are aggressive at all or bite or anything towards any of the employees they could be removed from the adoption floor and potentially put down which is already something extremely difficult to hear at a time when you're giving away two animals that are like your babies that you really are having a hard time with letting go of. In an already difficult time, the customer service lacked complete empathy, and human compassion. When it was time to bring in my dogs, she met me at the side door and took one dog in at a time and didn't even let me say goodbye. Just harshly grabbed the leash and took them inside. When I brought in their beds and blankets that I brought for them while I was still hysterically crying she told me to just drop them on the floor and they would bring them in the back eventually. I had to ask another worker at the front desk if she could please bring back their beds and blankets for them. Luckily, she was extremely nice and came around the corner and saw that I was hysterically crying and asked which bed was for which dog and said that she would bring them back to them right now and put them in their kennels for them. I surrendered my dogs at the begging of October.... It's been weeks and they never got posted on the SPCA website. I've called and asked about them several times and I've anxiously awaited to see them posted on their social media pages which they have not. I really feel like I gave away my babies just for the SPCA to put them down. I'm extremely disappointed as I waited over a year and a half to even surrender these dogs and the only reason I had to give them away was because I'm a single parent of a toddler and couldn't manage working full-time with a toddler and two big dogs and have the time that I need for for them and that they deserve. I surrendered them to give them a better life, and I feel like I surrendered them to their death unfortunately. Please do not bring your pets here. They do not care about you or your animals. I miss my dogs tremendously and am absolutely heart broken that this was my experience....shame on you guys.

Kyda girl recovering and healing ‍

I am beyond grateful to the SPCA for everything they've done for me and my baby. In truly one of the hardest moments of my life, they showed me nothing but kindness, compassion, and respect. Dr. Laurie spoke with such clarity, care, and patience when explaining everything in a way that eased my fears and helped me truly understand what was going on. That call gave me a sense of calm in the middle of so much uncertainty during a time when I was overwhelmed with fear and emotion. It's rare to come across people who are so deeply committed to both animals and the people who love them. I will never forget the way they showed up for me and my baby when we needed a miracle. I will carry this experience with me forever, and I'm so thankful from the bottom of my heart. Thank you SPCA for your compassionate care and for giving my kyda girl the chance to come back home to me.

We couldn't take him in public. When we'd have to take him to the vet, he would pull so hard (90 lb pitbull/ American bull dog, so he pulls HARD) that he would choke himself and make my hand hurt from holding the leash, and he would SCREAM/ bark/ cry when we wouldn't let him go up to people and dogs. He wouldn't tire out. He would do that the entire time. It was stressful as all heck when we'd have people over to our house. He would jump all over people, knock over small kids, non stop licking people, etc for about 15-20 min before calming down. If we kept him crated when people were over, he'd scream the entire time (I'm talking HOURS). It was extremely stressful. We did the 2 week board and train program with Christina. I'll be honest, because his issues seemed more like personality issues rather than not knowing commands, etc. I was a little nervous that our biggest concerns wouldn't be fixed. Him sitting, laying down, walking on heel, etc would be nice and all, but really what we needed was for him to be able to CALM DOWN around people. Lucky for us, we got the best of both worlds! My husband and I are blown away by the change in our boy. It's truly day and night. We picked him just one week ago. Yesterday I took him to the local Farmer's Market. He walked at a heel the whole time, not pulling toward any of the other people or dogs. We also spent multiple minutes at a time in a "sit" or "down" position just watching. This used to be a scenario where he'd be going crazy trying to get to everyone, but he remained calm for the whole 45 ish minutes we were there. Shortly after that, we had 2 new-to-Wesley friends come over to our house. I placed him on his cot before they came in the door. He jumped up once, but after I placed him back on it, he remained there and didn't move until I allowed him too. I thought for sure after I let him off, he'd run over and jump on his new friends. But nope! He walked over and let them pet him, but remained calm with all four feet on the floor and didn't lick them like crazy. He spend most of the afternoon just laying near us but not demanding attention like usual. He even stayed by himself quietly inside, while we were in the backyard (another first, he always wants to be where the people are) A total transformation!! Not having him for 2 weeks was definitely tough but Christina sent us multiple pictures and videos every single day, letting us know how he was doing and just showing us his cute face. She was quick to answer every question. You can truly tell how much she loves dogs and what she does. When we picked him up, we spent about 2 hours where Christina taught up how to use the e collar and worked on some training with us and Wesley together. The only thing I'm disappointed in with this training is not doing it sooner. I am in awe of what my boy learned at almost 6 years old and I truly cannot recommend Christina enough. We drove 5+ hours round trip for her training and it was so so worth the drive and the cost. THANK YOU CHRISTINA!!!

Now that we are home, I am incredibly pleased with the outcome. Milot's behavior has shifted significantly for the better. Anthony spent two hours with me during pickup to ensure I understood the commands and techniques he used, and by implementing those daily, I've seen a massive difference in our routine. While the 'behind-the-scenes' of intensive training can feel a bit like a black box for a first-time owner, the results speak for themselves. If you are looking for a program that delivers a noticeable transformation, it is well worth the investment. I'm very happy with Milot's progress! Other things to note - Anthony was very responsive. Sent videos of progress and video chats as well - clean/brushed/bathe at least once before pickup - flexible with drop off and pickup Happy with the result. Highly recommend.

All I can say is: wow! My dog has never been happier and more well-behaved. Ironically, his approach, really, is about training you, the owner, to cultivate the behavior you want to see in your dog. He trains owners to address the root cause of behaviors, which leads to broad, systemic changes through energy-management and LOTS of positive reinforcement. Before finding Jaimie, I was worried I'd have to give my dog up to a sanctuary if I ever lived with another person who owned a dog because my dog's behavior was out of control. I no longer have that fear after training with Jaimie. He is truly a master of his craft, and I have full confidence his training techniques can work on any dog after seeing my dog's behavior transform. I have a 10 year old Shih Tzu that I adopted from the pound at 5 years old. She was constantly getting into trouble: jumping on furniture, marking in the house, pulling trash from trash cans, aggressive with kids and other dogs. I believed the folk wisdom that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks," and Jaimie shattered that myth within the first training session. Jaimie's approach is really quite simple, if you think about it: if you manage your dog's energy, and you set boundaries for your dog, you can create a completely new routine that your dog will adopt through your consistent, clear communication and praising good behavior. Over time, through consistency, you fall into a new routine, one where your dog listens and understands the expectations you've set, and it feels natural. Since beginning training, my Shih Tzu has stopped marking inside the house and outside during walks, stopped begging for food and stealing food from the toddler in my house, pulling trash from the trash cans, stopped barking at every little noise in the house, listens to my commands while walking on a leash, and no longer jumps on furniture. Additionally, she is generally happier, and more affectionate with every human she meets. Next, I'm planning to work with Jaimie on addressing my dog's anxiety with other dogs. All of the work the work you put into training really pays off, and I have full confidence that his techniques and attention to detail will help me guide my dog finally begin to trust other dogs. Trust the process, be patient with yourself and with your dog, remain consistent, and cultivate the behavior you want to see.
