First, the dentists are competent…read more Second, the Office Manager and Schedulers appear unprofessional, rude and inefficient. The staff has been aware for 6+ months regarding my knee replacement. I get a phone day 1 day prior to my dental cleaning stating that I need medical clearance prior to my appointment and no one from Duke has responded after several attempts. I informed the Office Manager how did they contact my surgeon's office when no one asked me for the surgeon's name. Instead of owing up to their dysfunction, the Office Manager made up every excuse instead of acknowledging that they handled the situation inappropriately. The Office Manager and staff keep reiterating that we tried to leave a voice message, but your box was full! That is not the truth because I clear my messages every day. The Spectrum tech person just confirmed that my voicemail box was empty. Last, is it professional to raise her voice at patient? I told Bailey that she was raising her voice while talking to me. I will be picking up my records tomorrow and find a professional dental office. I prefer going to a practice that has an office staff who exhibits customer friendly behaviors even in the face of mistakes.

I was truly impressed that he read upon my medical conditions prior to seeing me and I had just written them down only 15 minutes prior. He and the staff go above and beyond at each visit making sure all questions are answered and I am comfortable. That means a lot. He is also active in the community. Just a nice well rounded guy. I'd give more stars but 5 is the max. If you are shopping for a new dentist, give the folks at Troutman a try. You won't be sorry.

In dealing with the unexpected events I had completely forgotten about the appointment until I got the confirmation call. I explained my situation and asked to reschedule the appointment and they said that due to their policy they wouldn't be able to see me if I didn't come to that appointment. Well, I had to be in court the day of my appointment...so I couldn't go. The lady on the phone said it was due to their 24 hour cancellation policy. That was on a Thursday. My appointment was on a Monday. So, here I am still in pain because apparently for this practice...LIFE doesn't happen to people causing them to need to reschedule. Ugh. I hope they never have to go through what I was going through then.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this dental office…read more From the very beginning, there were issues with verifying my insurance. I provided my insurance card and all the necessary information, yet I had to repeatedly go back and forth with the staff member responsible for insurance verification because my coverage was not being entered correctly. It appeared that outdated information was being pulled instead of using the member ID and information I had provided, creating a frustrating and unnecessary delay in the process. After finally getting the insurance information sorted out, I completed a comprehensive evaluation and imaging. Based on the information provided by the office, I was presented with a treatment plan and an estimated out-of-pocket cost. Relying on that information, I proceeded with the first phase of treatment. When I returned for the second phase of treatment, I was informed that I would owe significantly more than what I had originally been told. Naturally, I questioned the discrepancy. The response I received was, "That was just an estimate." While I understand that insurance estimates are not guarantees, that explanation felt dismissive. Every document the office provided--including the updated payment document I was handed that day--clearly stated "estimate." If patients are expected to rely on these estimates to make treatment decisions and budget accordingly, then the estimates should be as accurate as possible, especially after insurance information has supposedly been verified. My frustration is not simply about paying more. It's about the lack of accountability and transparency. When there are insurance verification issues from the start and then patients are later faced with unexpected costs, it undermines confidence in the billing process. Patients deserve clear communication, accurate insurance verification, and realistic expectations regarding their financial responsibility before treatment begins. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I hope the office takes steps to improve its insurance and billing practices so that future patients are not left feeling blindsided by unexpected charges. Update Thank you for replying via yelp. My review was intended to reflect my personal experience and provide public awareness for other patients. I addressed my concerns directly with the office in person today and clearly communicated my disappointment regarding the situation. As a result, I do not have any additional feedback to provide. The concerns meant for the clinic were already discussed during my visit.
