The restaurant is located in a small strip shopping center just north of the Greenwood Shopping Center on Congress Ave. in Palm Springs. We arrived at a good time as the inside is rather small. By the time we left, almost every table was full. Many people picked up take out orders throughout our meal. La Cosinita is a very busy restaurant! This was our first time trying Puerto Rican food. My husband ordered Mofongo stuffed with chicken and peppers and was very pleased with his choice. The portion size was quite generous. I ordered the Chicken de Plancha. My chicken was grilled to perfection and accompanied by plantains and black beans and rice. I enjoyed every bite. Our server checked on us several times during our meal. She was also very patient when we ordered as we weren't familiar with some of the menu items. The prices and portion sizes of our meals were a good value. This small but busy restaurant is a neighborhood gem!

Tender pulled Pork, rice with peas and sweet plantains. (The pernil is so good, it is featured as one of the daily lunch specials ... every day of the week!) That is ok by me!

Empanadas house made packed to capacity with savory fillings, I immensely enjoyed the chicken seasoned to perfection, light delicate dough excellent!! But BABY.... The OXTAIL EMPANADA is pure heaven, I LOVED IT, I will drive WEEKLY to get them! The Broiled Snapper was beautiful, not over cooked and juicy and presented superbly!!! Mofongo was the best I ever had! I want to work my way through the entire menu. The Service was PERFECT, genuinely welcoming and helpful with suggestions and the crew there worked together like a well oiled machine!

The flavors were rich, comforting, and straight-up authentic. You can taste the love in that food. And let's talk portions... they are NOT playing with you. I had enough leftovers to run it back for dinner later, and it still tasted just as good! The service? Super attentive and welcoming--exactly what you want when you're trying to sit, relax, and enjoy a good meal. And the decor is such a vibe--cute, cozy, and full of personality. Even the restroom had a unique touch... a big pot turned into a sink! Like... come on, that's creative Will I be back? Oh absolutely. Probably next month though, because it's about an hour drive for me--but listen... it's worth it. If you're ever in the area and craving real, authentic Dominican food... don't even think twice. Just go.

From the…read moremoment you walk in, the Caribbean-inspired décor sets the tone, and the bar at the center of the main seating area adds a lively, local vibe with patrons enjoying drinks and music. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, recommending the Mofongo con Camarones al Ajillo, which came in a rich, creamy garlic sauce--absolutely delicious. We also ordered the churrasco steak, perfectly grilled and served with a flavorful chimichurri sauce. What really stood out were the traditional Dominican offerings you don't see everywhere, like Con Con/Pegao--the crunchy rice from the bottom of the pot, which was a nostalgic treat. For drinks, we had the Morir Soñando (orange juice with condensed milk), refreshing and sweet. We were a party of six and seated comfortably without issue. Overall, Las Americas offers great food, a warm atmosphere, and an authentic local experience. We'll definitely be back!
