this place is disgusting. I literally ordered white rice to take home. The man went in the freezer put rice in a bowl, heated it up in the microwave. When I got home the rice smelled five days old. Stopped by this place with the fiancé right before a concert we were seeing in Fairfield; next town over. We were not disappointed! Luckily I could speak enough Spanish to order some things off the menu: their pupusas were amazing definitely will try again; had a tamale cerdo; pork tamale and this delicious shaved ice with condensed milk and tamarindo with a sweet/sour taste that makes me feel like a kid. It's one of the postres desserts. Waitress didn't speak any English but the menu is bilingual and she understands English. So glad we stopped by! Thought it would be a hole in the wall but there's ample seating nice decor and you can also buy some Honduran snacks, drinks and surprisingly medicine and books as well! Such a cute kitschy space. Disappointing all around from the timing of order to service and food quality/value. We found Sabor Hondureno on Restaurant.com, bought a certificate and ordered takeout the same day. The email confirmation didn't list the time the order would be ready and when we got there 40 min later, food was still not ready. Turns out they never got our order, but didn't bother to tell us that when we arrived. After waiting 10 min, they said they reset their app and just received the order. Not that big of a deal, but when we went to pay and presented our Restaurant.com gift certificate, the owner rudely informed the waitress and us that they don't take any certificates or discounts. I tried to show them the certificate, but he just dismissed us and said no, nothing he could do. The waitress was clearly embarrassed and apologized, so we paid the full amount and left. Food smelled great in the car on the way home, but when we sat down to eat, SO disappointing. I ordered the shrimp stir fry for $20 (see pic.). It was literally a handful of baby shrimp mixed with a bunch of French fries doused in 1/2 a bottle of full sodium soy sauce - with a scoop of white rice on the side and a sliver of tomato and some onion slices. It was inedible it was so salty, not to mention a total rip off for $20. The other meals were mediocre - quesadillas and chaufas. Fair warning if you use Restaurant.com, this place won't honor it and the service and food isn't worth the trip. read more

My dad, boyfriend, and I decided to come here for a late lunch. This is a great little restaurant with excellent service! Our waiter was super friendly and though he did not speak the best english he got us everything we wanted! The food was spectacular! Amazing flavors and spices! If you go definitely try something new, anything you try will be great! You also get chips on the house which is always a great thing! Prices are good too! Most of the food that I tried from this restaurant are delicious. Love the baleadas, popusas, and chicken soup. I think their breakfast it is very poor, though. Terrible customer service. I called in to my order, specify exactly what I wanted inside my baleada. Picked up came to work, excited to eat my food. They added an ingredient I did not want nor asked for. I called to tell them about the mistake and asked if they can make me another. I went back 15 mins later and lady gave me an attitude and demanded that I pay again. I told her I wasnt because it was her mistake, I knew exactly how I ordered because I specifically did not want "crema" on it. She shoved the food over the counter to take it. I saw this place while coming back from my dentist, I was born in Honduras, I remember the food, so my opinion it's entirely bias. I order the chicken with fried plantains, and horchata. My first impression of the place... extremely clean. The staff very knowledgeable of the menu, of course the interaction was all in spanish, I suspect their English it's sufficient to place an order. I must warn you, parking can be challenging, you can park around but you will walk at least 1/2 block. The food it's all made fresh and so is the Horchata (hence the waiting you will have to do) the range of flavor will knock your socks off, it brought so many memories from my childhood. I was there at 2pm on a Saturday so it was empty, I was told that's not the case in the evening. They accept CC. If you feel adventurous and have your taste buds delighted this is a must. I will have to come back and try other items on the menu. read more
