This place has a reputation of being the best burger in Brazil because of some associated chef's legacy and three different meats put into their signature patty. It didn't feel that gourmet to me, just a typical pub burger. I made my own burger medium with the signature patty, lettuce, tomato, Brazilian cheese, and pickles on a sweet potato bun. As well as fries. The burger came to me wrapped up in a bag with my fries; I was perplexed to find the bun already soggy, as I ate it in the restaurant a minute after they made it. The toppings were fine, nothing special except the cheese, but the burger was definitely rare and very over-seasoned. I'm not sure if this is a Brazilian thing, the under-doneness, but eating raw meat in a country you aren't from isn't the best idea. However, the fries were done properly-hard to mess those up. The tables had a couple of sauces; a ketchup that tasted like bbq sauce and a sweet chili sauce. Very random. Would I come here again? Most likely not. The price of the burger is a bit high and it just wasn't that memorable.

This is his son's restaurant which I thought it would follow the same standards of his father's restaurants. So my expectations were high and the line is so big that I thought "this must be the best hamburger in Brazil". Well; I was very disappointed. It's not bad at all, it's really good.. But it is not worth the price or the wait. Unless you are coming from the night out and it's 3am everything else is closed.. Then go for it!!

I ordered a glass of Malbec and finished off my meal with a wonderful dessert--pave (served in a bowl with caramel). Returned a few nights later and had an excellent burger served medium rare with great marbled flavor. More convenient (walking distance) from my Leblon hotel than Rubaiyat.

For those wandering along the beach, looking for a spot to grab a drink or bite to eat after sunset, this corner spot is a great option. And because they're connected to a hotel, they're often open when many other restaurants are closed. My favorite part is that you can sit outside on a cushioned bench (same side of the bench for the romantic ones) and still see the water and the mountains off in the distance (during the daylight). I've gone for dinner and lunch and while the menu never changes, it's a solid, convenient spot for those in Leblon. My friend and I went for dinner and enjoyed a caipivodka (I recommend the caipiruby if you like berries). The meal was sashimi, niguiri, and temaki but for those of you craving un-Japanese items, there's a full and totally opposite menu for you to enjoy (hamburgers are great, I hear). Go because it's convenient and beautifully located, but don't go expecting a busy scene or anything like that.

I like the acai at Bibi more than the variety at the next-corner Big Polis. The only area I have to drop them a star is when I saw them pouring coconut water into a cup out of carton. I found the burger to be a bit dry, but I only went with the traditional, so there's still hope for the other varieties Hare offers. The beginnings of Hareburger are humble and special - a 19-year-old veggie pioneer asked his family for R$50,000 and created the original Hareburger to then sell along the beach in Zona Sul. It's worth mentioning he'd also play the flute and wear a magic hat while telling you wonderful things about mystical outer space. That's the culture that created this Hareburger spot and now you'll find a handful of locations strewn throughout Rio.
