We had the fried fish and ceviche - they have a much better selection of the latter than anywhere else we've been. Good selection of fresh juices - I had the blueberry without sugar which was great. Not a place for sea views like many other places in this area - the two windows in front look out on the buildings across the narrow street - but the food is definitely worth trying.

See I love coffee a great deal. I appreciate the fact that my coffee was served in a homey looking ceramic mug. The whole place has a homey vibe going. Seating is limited but they do their best to accommodate groups. There's a local Street artist that paints dogs and cats freehand and he's responsible for a lot of the artwork in here. The artist is pretty damn amazing and he charges almost nothing for his work. This place also hands you a napkin and colored markers to draw your own piece of art and they'll even let you tape it up on their walls. Very cool coffee and tea spot. Like others stated. Easily the highlight of the meal. For the main course, the catch of the day was swordfish. While the flavor was good, the fish itself was a bit tough, so I wouldn't strongly recommend it. However, the sides it came with were exceptional: the potatoes were comforting and well seasoned, and the mushroom risotto was rich, creamy, and incredibly satisfying. Easily one of the best things on the plate. The service was great, friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed yet stylish. If you're in Valparaíso and want a meal with a view, Restaurant Fauna is a wonderful choice, especially for the ceviche and that unforgettable risotto.

Many of the ingredients don't translate exactly to an English equivalent but for the most part it was accurate. What we didn't realize was the size of the portions! We both ordered a sandwich, one a Burger and then the other was a sliced beef and cheese (can't recall what they called it). Needless to say they were enormous! We certainly could have shared one. I recommend sharing a dish with someone unless you are especially hungry or simply want to try various items. Overall the food was good, nothing that I'd get excited about if I lived nearby other than it'd be a cheap meal when splitting with another person. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. We also enjoyed a very good wine although they didn't have the first 3 wines that we chose so ended up with whatever they did have on hand.

The juice from the meat and the onion is what makes the fries soggy, and I think that was part of the point of the dish.. but it was just so heavy and really not as good as it seems like it should have been. Terremotos here are bad. They pour so much bitters in it that the other sweet flavors arent even there. the interior is kind of weird but cool. They have random objects hung up in what seems to be a random design, and people have started a tradition of leaving their passport photos on all parts of the walls.

We ordered a pizza Boscaiola; the dough felt fresh, very well baked in fire wood oven. Ingredients all were savory and placed perfectly. My sister ordered dessert Budino Della Casa ( only good thing here was the ice-cream ) don't spend your $$$ on it. The place is romantic and must be amazing at night on the outside patio.
