In times of sickness, we are seen quickly, given time to explain what is wrong, and given whatever medications, tests or other care we need. During grave illness, Dr. Ackerman is always a phone call away when the practice is open, and has coverage when he is not available. He has also referred us to great specialists when necessary. At 4pm I asked the status, and was told I'd be seen shortly. I checked again at 4:20 and the receptionist said she would check with the doctor. They said it would be another 30 minutes. i'm sorry but who has time to wait for an hour and half to see a doctor? I understand there are other patients who are not well, but schedule your appointments accordingly. I also have a job and I am extremely sick. I made this appointment with someone else because I could not wait until January. I don't want something to happen to me, esp the state of the world we are living in. Another issue I had was the receptionist did not even care to communicate with me what the status was until I asked. She suggested I stay until 5pm when extended hours start but she knew i was on the clock. So that would not have worked. I asked if someone else could see me as it was a very quick appointment but she said no. Did not even ask. I walked out and will not go back to see Dr. Haq or anyone except my PCP. I believe the front desk employee's name is Liz. During every visit, she has come across as dismissive, impatient, and unprofessional. She spoke to us with an attitude that made us feel like we were an inconvenience, and I witnessed her treating other patients in a similarly disrespectful manner. The front desk is the first impression of any medical office, and her behavior reflects very poorly on the practice. Patients who are already dealing with illness or pain deserve compassion and respect, not rudeness. Management should seriously address the customer service at the front desk before more patients choose to leave. I will not be returning to this office, and I will be recommending that friends and family seek care elsewhere.

On more than one occasion, I was told information by a receptionist/staffer that ended up not being true or completed on their end, which cost me time/money (taking off from work) and stress. 1) I made an appointment for one thing, was confirmed that would be my service and upon arrival and paying my co-pay was told the tech that was needed for that service was not in-office, and I would have to schedule another appointment (I had scheduled and waited 2 months for my initial appointment). 2) I had a follow-up telehealth appointment that was confirmed on the phone and via text, but never received the link for the appointment. When I called the office it was closed and there was no option to leave a message. 3) I was not sent the link to my patient portal to see my results, after having requesting it 3 times. I had to call and speak to different people repeatedly 4) I was told they would be a "call note" in my chart for the doctor to call me since they missed my confirmed appointment. They never called (it's been over 2 weeks) Furthermore, even the scheduling with imaging (which they are affiliated with) as horrendous and hard to navigate, which was very discouraging to someone trying to navigate the healthcare system. For these reasons, I do not intend to continue care with them.

Surprised, I asked why she'd brought her dog to work, she said it wasn't her dog- that she'd never bring a dog to the office. I sensed that she wasn't happy about being responsible for the animal. l'd give this "doctor" a neg.10 if it were an option! He ignored serious symptoms my partner has been having. Some VERY serious symptoms in the past 3 months. Complaints of extremely low energy, weakness and pain in arms, loss of dexterity in right hand, elbows shoulders, lower spine, right side, legs, frequent (every 2 hours) urination, hearing loss, were all ignored even when I pointed out that many of these symptoms are associated with some serious diseases! For several years he has had severe subcutaneous hemorrhaging and bruising all along his forearms from the slightest impact. Markings so black, blue,and purple, that at first glance look like Rorschach tattoos and don't go away! My partner sees Koo 3-4x/year for routine health checks. How could he have missed the bruising on his arms? Koo's response was to prescribe prednisone for inflammation. When I asked about referral for further evaluation i.e. MRI, kidney function test? other tests? even asked if PT could help with weakness arms. legs, etc. Koo wrote "PT" on a prescription pad! Not even a referral for bloodwork! The response was a smile, a comment that I am a "tough lady" aka difficult! On July 14, 2025, my partner collapsed and was rushed to Montefiore Nyack Hospital, where he remained for 11 days having been diagnosed with multiple myeloma!! Hallmark sign: elevated Ca in the blood!~ And that bruising/subcutaneous hemorrhaging, btw, is a symptom of multiple myeloma as well! Koo missed all the hallmarks! And he never followed up with a phone call to see how his patient of 20+ years was feeling! My partner has had radiation therapy, is now in a nursing rehab facility. He is extremely weak and will be receiving chemotherapy weekly for at least a year if not longer. I can't help but think that symptoms didn'thave to get this severe. Had this been picked up a year or two ago or even a few months ago, he wouldn't have gotten as weak and as ill as he is now! I wouldn't recommend this "doctor" to anyone-not even for a common cold!

This is a professional pediatric dermatology office. The receptionists are thorough and they get you in and OUT. This was the fastest doctor's visit I've been to. I love that about Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Kristal was kind, detailed, sharp and has a great way with children. My daughter came in for a small wart under her nose. He went right to work completing a freezing treatment within minutes. Painless and under 10 minutes. I highly recommend Dr.Kristal. The parking lot can be a nightmare at 2100. Valet if you can.
