We called a few minutes before our arrival and the host graciously reserved a table for us, which was appreciated since they were dealing with a busy Saturday evening dinner service. For a starter, we shared an order of their smoked salmon salad, which came in a pretty display of mixed greens with feta and peeled orange, lightly dressed and sprinkled with freshly ground pepper, all anchored in a triangle of folded fillets and topped with crunchy fennel strips. It was refreshing to see that the bottom of the plate was practically dry after the last bite as opposed to the typical puddle of dressing in many restaurant salads. The dressing was citrus based, which provided a nice contrast to the salmon and cheese but the acidity took center stage to the rest of the flavors. My husband ordered for his entrée an 8 oz centre-cut fillet which came with a cornucopia of sides - a large, grilled flat cap mushroom, a slice of beefsteak tomato, onion rings, French fries and mashed potatoes. The peppercorn sauce was flavourful and had a nice non-pasty consistency. I was allowed to partake in the fries, which were beautifully done to a light golden exterior with fluffy interior and no after taste of over-used frying oil. Although the fillet was slightly undercooked (he asked for medium, and it came out medium rare), my husband found the dish generally satisfactory. My pan-fried fillets of seabass came on a bed of sauté mix - baby potatoes, roasted red pepper, greens, peas, shallots and fennel - a nice combination of raw nutty sweetness with some crunch to offset the buttery fish. Delicious! We wrapped up dinner with coffee and four scoops of ice cream to share (the 4th scoop was on the house!). Our entire dining experience was made extraordinary by the excellent service of the wait staff. They were professional and genuinely attentive. Definitely we'll return.

I was confused at the beginning, but the carvery is located at the back of the pub. You go there, pick your food and then go find a table. But if you want dessert or snack you order it from the menu (?). Anyway, they had a 2 courses meal for 13.95 - what I found a good deal. The roasted beef and the stuffing were really really good. I totally recommend it. The food comes in a big portion I nearly had no space left to dessert - but I had it in end! My friends had beef burritos (good) and fish from the carvery (boring). For dessert, death by chocolate. Man, lots of chocolate, I assure you. The staff were not that friendly (except from the lady at the cashier) but at least they worked fast.

The restaurant was far from busy, yet the waiter checked the system and found no record of my order. He then asked me to describe the staff member who had taken it. At that point, I chose to leave. What might pass for TV comedy was, in reality, deeply frustrating for any customer. If you are seeking a meal, this is not the place to go. As a long-standing patron, I will not be returning to Dunne and Crescenzi.

The dog hair belief was from getting a bite from a rabid dog - if you were to be cured then you had to place a few hairs in the wound. So we sat outside in warm sunshine and the other three of us indulged in a Diet Coke, a flat white and an orange soda. Our wine drinker wanted a glass of Chardonnay but no, it was not among the choices, so she ended up with a wine we had never heard of but was acceptable - rather than enjoyable oh and she had a glass of water. The servers were very attentive and friendly. I got a flat while but the bill said cappuccino. Hey ho; the coffee was delicious. It was all very pleasant and despite it being lunch time and us taking a table merely for a few drinks no one minded. When we left we passed an ice cream wagon offering, inter alia, gin ice cream. Our wine drinker had experienced the brand a few days ago and said it was delicious but in this occasion she declined.

Overall Value: A solid Indian restaurant at a reasonable price - probably 3.5 stars, but I'm…read morerounding up. We came here after a visit to the Curragh Racecourse, and discovered that every other pub/restaurant in the area was either closed or stopped serving food at 9pm. Sitaaray to the rescue - they open till 11pm! The food won't blow your mind, but it had pretty good flavor and the prices were great. The Food: We got Tandoori Mixed Special (€11.95), a side of the Saag Paneer (€4.95), and G.O.C. naan (€3.25) to split between the two of us. The Tandoori special was very generous portions, and included chicken, lamb, and other grilled meat. I don't usually like getting tandoori at Indian restaurants (it's like the least sexy dish), but we were craving meat, so we went for it. It was good, but not great - a little dry, but that is often the case. There a number of really flavorful sauces that you can add (some with a lot of heat), and that helped a lot. At the price and for the amount of food, it was a good deal though (and definitely satisfied the meat craving). The Saag Paneer, which is pureed spinach and mustard leaves with cream and chunks of Indian cheese, was flavorful. The menu said medium spicy, but I did not notice any real heat. The G.O.C. naan (garlic, onion, and coriander) was fresh and doughy, also with good flavor - not quite as much as I expected, but still pretty good. Overall, it won't be the most memorable meal, but given the few options in the area, at this price the food was well worth it. Space and Pace: Large dining space in the restaurant that was quite empty when we arrived. The restaurant has an almost overly formal feel to it with mood lighting and wine glasses set out, red tablecloth, etc. I found that slightly odd, given that they also do take out, but it is a really nice interior and probably makes for a romantic date. Service: Really friendly servers and people running the restaurant, with good recommendations. Our server warned us about the super spicy sauce you can add to your food, and was a bit surprised that we just about finished off the entire container. The food also came out relatively quickly - we left very happy.
