This is how I discovered and fell in love with Plank Yoga studio which is conveniently located 6 minutes away from where I live. The studio's vibe is very clean, the decoration is minimalistic the floors are light wood which contribute to this cleanliness vibe and the color scheme is white and purple. There isn't a whole lot going on in the studio, just the check in desk a small waiting area with an even smaller retail area. Yes the studio is tiny, but the number of people they accept is limited so you will never feel like you can't stretch because you will hit a fellow Yogi. I took a Power Vinyasa class with Taly Ostfeld who is the studio's owner and man was that class challenging. It consisted of a traditional Vinyasa Flow sequence but on steroids. The transitions were incredibly fast and the workout was mostly core-centric. My boyfriend who is a little less experienced in Yoga than I am, told me his abs were hurting for two days. This is not a class that I would recommend to someone who is a beginner but definitely one I would suggest to someone who wants to practice Yoga with a cardio component to it. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience at Plank and will be visiting it again in the future. There are two downsides to this studio which are the fact that they offer very few classes during the week and also the classes are super expensive. At $25 per class they are more expensive than even the most expensive studios in New York and buying big class packages does not lower the cost per class. Towels and mats are included which I guess compensates a little for the price of the class.

The truest reason I am changing my review is that over time-the heating system in this studio has proven that it has no humidity control and this is Florida-already soooo humid. Last summer when I practiced I ended up with heat stroke for the first time after close to two decades practicing. I decided to stop going for the entire summer because I didn't want that to happen to me again. I waited until late October and started to bring my own temperature and humidity gauge. That's when I discovered that more often than not the humidity is over 70% when it's supposed to be 40%. The heater obviously isn't working as the studio owner placed a large free standing space heater inside as a "quick" fix because the room wasn't getting hot enough during winter. Welp, just spent the last few days sick as a dog with a fever again from this place. I saw my own gauge and other people leaving class. I couldn't make it to final breathing. I texted the owner-who never answers her phone or calls back. I texted her Sunday when it happened. She didn't text me back for three days and I will share all her texts here as not one even asked "how are you feelings?". This woman shouldn't own a yoga studio. And this place is absolutely not a safe space for practice when the temperature and humidity are not regulated. I asked her to invest in a dehumidifier which seemed to me like it would be right up her alley since it's a small plug in investment. Instead of actually doing research or trying a dehumidifier or discussing it with any of her teachers-the teacher I told I was sick immediately after class and showed her the humidity even agreed that she has worked in a studio that used one and it worked wonders. Dismissed completely. Not one question about my health either. Not one. Very telling. Never going back. This studio is NOT SAFE And I just noticed that yesterday she refunded the one class I had left so she was dismissing me

First time I was not prepared (didn't bring my card) and they don't have apple pay. Christina the instructor for Friday was extra thoughtful and so helpful she helped me figure out a way to check in and pay for my class to make sure I would be able to join. The class was absolutely amazing, very clean studio with great natural light and on point guidance. Came back this morning and had yet again great experience, different instructor but just as great, so calming, so inspiring, I left the class feeling light and definitely detoxed hehe. I will be coming back whenever in town. Five stars all the way.

They have plenty. Want to relax? They have a spa. Want to try your hand at a variety of workouts? Take your pick. It was due to this last reason I went there. I had found them on ClassPass and saw that they offered Zumba. I hadn't done Zumba for the longest time and was itching to do one. This place provided that and then some. Amira at the front desk showed me around. Much appreciated. Seems all three buildings in this plaza all belong to the same place. Funny how I had passed near this area many times and never noticed this was around. I think it's one of those that you don't find what you don't look for. Shrug. They're open daily, and depending on the day, they close earlier. Such is the case on weekends. The café they have closes at 3 PM. As for the classes themselves, they usually go up to 8 PM or so unless it's the weekend (hence them closing earlier). As of right now, I can only comment on their Zumba class. It was taught by Cristian who started the class late and ended it late. Seems the yoga class from before got held up. At any rate, he made the class pass you by. He also went around, correcting moves, and it seems students generally like him. I found his class a bit intense. It was difficult to keep up. New moves, new routine. Definitely not the Zumba I'm used to. Very fast paced. I burned more calories than I usually would. Super happy with that, but ouch, you definitely feel it the day after. I'd be curious to see the style of their other instructors.

I started with an intro yoga class with Javier (sidebar, LOVE him) and then later found out that they have all sort of classes. Think Pilates, Zumba, etc! ***Unless you're a yoga master, I highly recommend checking out one of Javier's classes. He is passionate about form and won't let you form any bad habits. Perfection.

The studio room has beautiful plants, books, and candles. In the front, there is jewelry, soaps, and other goods from local makers available for purchase. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. Speaking of warm- the studio is not heated by traditional overhead heat lamps. However, the air is not on and there is a heater that runs in the back. Whew, it gets sweaty during power flow! If you're not a fan of ultra hot classes but still like some warmth, Flux has the perfect balance. The teachers offer modifications for all levels, beginner to advanced. They even assist and help you get further into poses, which I love. The maximum class size is 12, which allows for more personalized guidance compared to some of the "factory" style classes I've attended with 20-50 students.
