Om'echaye Wellness & Fitness Center has it all. Want to sit down and eat? They have a café open until 3 PM. Want a light bite to go instead? They sell stuff until 8 PM. Need gym attire? They have plenty. Want to relax? They have a spa. Want to try your hand at a variety of workouts? Take your pick. It was due to this last reason I went there. I had found them on ClassPass and saw that they offered Zumba. I hadn't done Zumba for the longest time and was itching to do one. This place provided that and then some. Amira at the front desk showed me around. Much appreciated. Seems all three buildings in this plaza all belong to the same place. Funny how I had passed near this area many times and never noticed this was around. I think it's one of those that you don't find what you don't look for. Shrug. They're open daily, and depending on the day, they close earlier. Such is the case on weekends. The café they have closes at 3 PM. As for the classes themselves, they usually go up to 8 PM or so unless it's the weekend (hence them closing earlier). As of right now, I can only comment on their Zumba class. It was taught by Cristian who started the class late and ended it late. Seems the yoga class from before got held up. At any rate, he made the class pass you by. He also went around, correcting moves, and it seems students generally like him. I found his class a bit intense. It was difficult to keep up. New moves, new routine. Definitely not the Zumba I'm used to. Very fast paced. I burned more calories than I usually would. Super happy with that, but ouch, you definitely feel it the day after. I'd be curious to see the style of their other instructors. read more

What a great find. If it wasn't for ClassPass, I unfortunately would have not know this place existed. I started with an intro yoga class with Javier (sidebar, LOVE him) and then later found out that they have all sort of classes. Think Pilates, Zumba, etc! ***Unless you're a yoga master, I highly recommend checking out one of Javier's classes. He is passionate about form and won't let you form any bad habits. They allow people to come in over 5 min late noisily and before class the room is ridiculously full of chatter. This little gem in Hallandale is delicious! I love coming here for Breakfast. They have gluten free/dairy free options as well. I originally discovered this place using a Living social voucher. I was so excited to try this wellness center with one of my girlfriends last week, however, my "calm yoga experience" was everything but that. Our yoga instructor, Javi (I think that's how you spell it?), was the rudest human being I have ever met. He's extremely demanding, touches you without asking, yells at you when you're not doing perfect yoga (IN A BEGINNERS CLASS), insulted the class, called out on specific individuals, demanded I spit out my gum like I was in grade school, spent half of the time showing off how he does it right and how we were all doing it wrong. There was about 10 minutes left in our session and my friend and I decided to quietly leave because he was demanding I spit out my gum FORCEFULLY!!! When we were politely putting everything back he says, "good you're making the right decision". WHAT YOGA TEACHER DOES THAT?!?! What a miserable miserable man!!! In addition to his disgusting and negative energy the room was dead silent, no music or anything! When I spoke with the manager she was just sticking up for him saying that he's strict and he's good at yoga etc. It wasn't until I said, "Well good for you guys then, I guess I'll have to bring my opinions to Yelp". Then she began panicking asking what I wanted if I wanted a smoothie or a free class or what... how pathetic. She didn't actually care she just cared when I threatened to Yelp about it. Anyways, come to find out through the reviews other people have complained about this man for years and years and PLOT TWIST... he is the owners son!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO. THANK. YOU. I love this place! I don't even know where to begin to describe this place. I'm not sure if anything like this place exists elsewhere. It's a sanctuary for all around wellness. You name it, they have it. And they don't simply have it. They have the best of everything. I'm talking cycling, Pilates, weight training, yoga, meditation, Zumba, etc. The friendly owners have ensured all of their equipment is of the highest quality. The instructors have a wide range of knowledge regarding anatomy and physiology (coming from someone well versed in health science). The entire staff makes you feel like home. I came here for my Zumbini class with Eugenia. My son is almost 17 months and he loves it! He runs around the classroom with the instruments they hand out to play with. He's making friends and learning how to act around other children. For 10 classes it's $195 and you can take a demo class for $10 or $15 depending on which demo class it is. Just download the zumbini app and it'll tell you the instructor and how to contact her with questions. The class is about 45 mins. Overall super happy with this experience and might even join another session. read more

If I could I wouldn't even give the first star. I thought this would be fun to try out a beginners class with a friend. So we went and as we were walking in there was a man telling a lady how he loved the class and how the instructor was funny and loved how he made funny comments with students but The yoga instructor Javier was the worst! He was not in fact making funny lighthearted comments with his students but he was making fun of them! He picks on people all class especially when they don't do a perfect pose (did I mention this was a beginners class?). This man basically teaches the class to show off how perfect he is. If you don't like being touched don't take his class because he'll poke you with his feet and move you to a perfect pose even if you know you're on your limits. My friend and I decided to leave after he yelled at her for having gum. we politely put our things away for Javier to then tell us "good, you're making a good decision". Remember the guy that was worshiping this class? He started to laugh out loud. I'm sure this isn't the first time the instructor has had issues. Upon leaving my friend was speaking to the manager about our experience and she was defensive and showed no interest in her customers concerns until my friend threatened to write a yelp review. This place is amazing! Can't find better! Well, except that they could have exercise machines, and more rooms. However, this health club (not gym) offers many classes, such as yoga, cycling, pilates, Zumba, etc. Usually they have cycling in mornings (8:30am) and evenings (7:30pm). Zumba few times a week. I absolutely love this place, they are not crowded, they have nice AC in rooms and everyones here is super friendly and nice. This place is lovely, but they are a little slick. Beware of this. I know 2 other people who have had issues there too. I bought a 3 package Pilates Reformer deal on Couptessa. When I called to schedule my first class, they told me everyone who is a beginner gets a complimentary (i.e. free) 30 min introduction to Pilates Reformer. I came to the class, which there was me and one other girl. Afterwards, the teacher walked me to the front, and when she learned I used Couptessa, told me that one of my classes would be charged, and I'd only have 2 left. When I corrected her and said I was told it was free, she blamed the front desk, citing "disorganization". I kinda thought it was strange, but I blew it off and decided because I liked it so much, I would by the welcome package, which included 2 one hour long sessions at 80 dollars each. So the next day I arrive a few min early for my 1:45 pm session, and the teacher is no where to be found. She strolls in 10 minutes later, and we start around 3pm. I'm thinking, we will probably go an extra 10 min to make up for the lost time. Wrong. She has to go pick up her granddaughter so we would be wrapping up at 2:45 pm. When I kindly asked about a session being an hour, she looked mortified and told me that we started on time. I went through 7 years of college, I know how to read a clock! It felt disrespectful and unprofessional. That night I started researching alternative places to do reformer, one being the Memorial Regional fitness center in Pines. Its funny, they advertise the free intro session, which I see is very customary in the Pilates world. Needless to say, i will be checking them out. I was around the area so I decided to come for a Pilates class from my class pass app. This place is awesome! There is a juicery and healthy food restaurant inside and the people there were all very lovely! This manager gave me some free samples of this yummy natural brownie. There is also a clothing store and you can buy homemade frozen food to take home, and lots of parking in the same compound. I would go there regularly if it was closer to my house for sure. Caveat emptor - Let the buyer beware. Make sure you know what you are buying when dealing with this business! I purchased a 5-class pass through a Living Social offer. When I went to take my first class, the girl at the front desk told me that I could not use that pass. In very small print it said "new clients only." I had been to that studio once several years ago. (For what it is worth, I did like the class. It was well instructed and they had a lot of props available.) I would not really consider myself a client. I got the impression that this happens quite frequently because as soon as I showed the voucher, without going further, I was asked if I had ever been there before. It felt like an intentional bait and switch. It would have cost them nothing to honor their advertisement and allow one more student into a class that is going to go forward anyway. The smart business move would have been to make a one time exception to their "new clients only" rule, provide such a great service that I would want to return and to cordially show me around the facility and invite me to stop at the juice bar after the class. They could easily have up-sold the experience but they squandered the opportunity. Instead of creating a good buzz and a continued customer relationship, they have alienated me from even wanting to return. The negative word of mouth is really not worth the one or maybe two classes that I may have actually taken on that pass. read more

One of the amazing places in the area. They have a lot of classes, for all levels.. The staff is always nice and friendly! You feel like you jump to India for a few hours. The only thing that I wish that they can change is more late hours class. Most of the evening class start at 6 pm and not always fit for working people of moms. I bought a groupon and tried it out. was really happy to find something near my place and not usually going to south beach. most of all I like the restorative yoga class.I love it. Javier Wilensky and Magali Wilensky make it truly different and sooo calming and relaxing and you just feel their welcoming and friendly energy. love that all the gear is provided, everything is new and up to date and you do not need to bring anything apart from the right cloths. all people there are really friendly and nice and they really care about you! the atmosphere in this studio is really different, friendly and welcoming and calming. there are cards at Wholefoods for the first lessen free :) try it out! if you were looking for something else than the usually training facilities with neonlights and isolated people then look no further! recomend it all the way! read more

As a former Ashtanga practitioner, I was curious to see how the Vinyasa flow and Bikram classes were and at the end, they were ok. I am a bit unsattisfied due to the lack of positions and knowledge that was given. Zumba classes are fun, but Edgar (one of the Zumba teachers) doesn't have that much of a high energy to be dancing. The yoga / fitness studio is a good environment, but I believe the owners should hire new instructors. read more

Expensive and not meant for working people bc of the hours that their classes are scheduled . But it's great if you don't work. Signed up for spinning only classes then they cancelled most of their night spinning classes and then I never finished using all of them. They only had one good class at night. Not for me. But others may like IT. Also, very snobby people. Just annoying and not necessary. Also never got a credit for those spinning classes . They offered me Zumba. I paid for spinning not Zumba. First yoga class ever and I loved it! Atmosphere is warm and friendly with staff who are clearly experienced. I took Sue Ellen's yoga stretch class. She is awesome! Extremely knowledgeable about yoga and anatomy. Took time to explain everything and made this first timer feel comfortable and welcome. I was not the only first timer. Even those who have been in class before moaned a little. Many of us have bad backs and/or limited range. She helped all of us and we all went as far as we could on an individual basis. This is why it's important to continue, which I will. Beats having surgery! Us baby boomers need to keep moving. Class was perfect size. Bring a mat or rent one there. I can't think of a more positive place to workout. Every class I have taken, the instructors are positive and helpful. The staff greets you and knows you by your first name. Sometimes studios or gyms can be intimidating, especially if you are not that perfect girl in your workout attire. However, the members are always friendly and helpful as well. Okay studio, I bought a groupon for 60 minute class on their schedule they had some yoga classes for 60 minutes (the only reason I bought the groupon) when I arrived to the studio they told me the class was 90 and I could not use groupon. What a waste. read more

I loved this place. My friend Karen suggested we meet there and take a spin class. While we were there in the other room was a very cool private class going on with a few women. This is not intimidating. I'm 54 years old and all the women there were 40plus looking great. They have a wonderful juice bar and clean food fridge on the premises. They offer a wonderful variety of classes and their teachers are the best. I've only done Zumba and a few minutes of TRX with Alex J but all the teachers (Alex J, other Alex, Jeison, Cristian and Edgar) are excellent. The girl at the desk in the evenings is very nice and the other day I tried Zumba for the first time and hated it so five minutes into the class I walked out and the girl at the desk asked me if I wanted to try something else, which I did and she suggested cross training and I loved it. Alex J was such a great teacher, fun and motivating. I love the different types of classes om'echaye offers and the great staff. Lali from cycling this week was also amazing motivating and fun. It was what I was looking for. An amazing space, comfortable, clean rooms and good organization. I arrived with my injured joints. I asked the owner -she was very kind-, for low impact yoga. She recommended me Iyengar Yoga. Results in only one week, much less pain in shoulder, back and knees. I started stiff like a tree, now I am loose like a leave in the wind. I do not know if I can run a marathon again, but I feel incredibly. Price, only 5 bucks per class, it is a gift because I paid $89 per month, 4 days per week, but attention, for this price not on weekend.
