We stumbled upon this place when we were hungry around noon. Great meat, clean kitchen, friendly people. A great place to be!

For our third night in Alcudia we were looking for a great BBQ-place. My brother-in-law had heard…read morerecommendations of Sa Taverna des Port neighbouring the local port (hence the name). The location is beautiful, so just when sitting down the vibe and buzz was great. The smell from the barbeque, people talking, sun shining while setting over the hundreds of boats. Unfortunately, that wasn't to last. It all started after we ordered our drinks. They came with wrong amounts, missed orders and it took them three turns to our table to sort it out (17 people). I had a red wine, but the only possible way to describe it was "disgusting". Tasted of bad spirits followed by a bitter aftertaste. This didn't improve my impression the slightest. My wife and I ordered Angus beef for two people that was to be grilled tableside. I guess I should have heard warning bells ringing, but maybe the bad wine had numbed my sense of reason. I love a bit of theater in food (Heston Blumenthal, anyone?), and I was expecting a larger piece of Angus being cooked near us. Oh it was cooked alright, beyond any recognition of Angus beef. It was so well-done that it could stand up on its own edge without falling. Extremely tough. Angus beef should NEVER be tough! Top this with no seasoning, no char or sear (it wasn't even grilled but more like boiled on a hot stone). Why on earth they sear 5-6 mm slices of meat instead of an entire piece and then cut it tableside for theatre is for me beyond stupid. That's a big no-no in cooking 1-on-1. My baked potato, apart from being cold, wasn't even cooked all the way through. The vegetables were beyond boring. Tomato, cucumber, lettuce, and a bit of corn in one corner of the plate with a bitter and not at all pleasant dressing on the palate. Also, none of the vegetables were even cooked - all raw! Some other guests in our company thought a bit better of their food, although the general consensus came in the end down to a shared disappointment. Next big letdown was of course the pricing, overpriced beyond any belief and reason. Not that I know the feeling, but it has to resemble being an additional member of the Village People at an after party concert. The view from the restaurant overlooking the harbour is top class. Unfortunately, that's the only top about it. Hands down the worst dining-experience I've had so far in Alcudia and Mallorca. It does get two stars because it simply isn't as bad as some other previous experiences where the food actually made me throw up (my stomach though was in turmoil and not really agreeing with me the rest of that night). But please take that second star with a huge bucket of saltwater and simply stay away from this place if you have any care for either quality or value for money. This place provides neither.

Rancho Chico - Love the Mallorcan wine. It went down very well with the tasty food.

The first good sign (didn't feel it at the time as I was waaaaaay to hot after the walk) was that we couldn't dine there that night as they were fully booked and the first opening wouldn't be for 2 more nights, so we booked and went on our way. So take 2, we come back. We were warmly welcomed by a nice member of staff who showed us to our table and quickly got the table set up, menus, cutlery and high chair etc. The menu was great, a little tricky as I'm terribly indecisive (well I think I am but I'm not sure) and I was tempted by almost everything I read. I finally settled on Iberian pork. It was amazing, cooked to perfection and flavored with a delicate but impressive array of seasoning which allowed the meats natural flavors to come though. For drinks I ordered a bottle of red wine and although I wouldn't say I have a great pallet for wine I know what I like and I liked the bottle of 'Son Colom'. It was a local Mallorca wine and although I choose it with budget in mind I was very impressed, as was my wife. Myself, wife, mum and kids all enjoyed our meals thoroughly as well as the nice surroundings, (we were seated outside on a beautiful Mediterranean evening) and the attentive but not invasive staff. Although this was one of the (slightly) more expensive places we ate on holiday, it was easily worth the cost, although I should mention this was not overly expensive by any means, just we were budgeting for paying for family each night and having to make sure the kids could order something they'd actually eat. If or hopefully when we return to Alcudia, I'm sure we'd make a point of returning here too.

The shrimps were bay (baby) shrimp and the garlic wine sauce was to die for. Save the bread and dip it in there. I just took spoonfuls for faster, happier consumption. We ordered the lamb chops (daughter said it was delicious), entrecôte (ordered medium, but came well done :( so was over cooked for my taste), sea bass with garlic (yummy, but lots of bones to contend with) and Hawaiian pizza (they have a wood oven and the crust came out delicious and crispy). Overall, happy with our meals

I'm really glad I came across this place after a week of barely being able to find anything but…read morepotatoes throughout Spain! While it's not cheap to eat here, the price to quality ratio is okay compared to some other places I've tried during my trip. (Though as a disclaimer, I may have had terrible luck - I relied on several review websites and only went to places with lots of great reviews, but most turned out to be overpriced with mediocre food, so this place was THE highlight of my dining experience in Spain.) I went for the filet and my sister chose the mint lamb burger. Both were very tasty and well-prepared! The filet (~25€) was very tender and was lightly salted, which brought out its flavor. I opted for some red wine-onion sauce (3€) and they went very well together. My sister's lamb burger (~18€) was gigantic, so I got to try a few bites... SO delicious! I've never had a lamb burger with mint leaves mixed into the patty before. It was an a great combination, but I noticed the lamb was a bit rare and I'm not sure if this may have caused a slightly upset stomach afterwards. (It was still worth the taste though!) Both the burger and filet came with a side. I decided to keep the fries (the default) while my sister picked grilled veggies. We also ordered a salad (8€) which was pretty generous in size. Before the meal, we were given bread, olives, some type of delicious creamy spread, and some chimichurri sauce. The olives were outstanding! By the end of the meal, we were too full for dessert, but I do recall seeing a few interesting offerings. Since it was a Friday night, I had called ahead to make a reservation, but turns out there were a fair number of seats available in the downstairs area. We may have been there on the earlier end of the evening. Our server was friendly and spoke English fluently. Overall, glad I found this restaurant!

Easy booking online, great of variety of meat, delicious octopus, extremely nice staff. Superb food experience in good price. The steak was simply amazing and had a very nice taste of "smoke" -hard to explain but worth trying! One star less because of the utilities. cleanness of toilets should be improved and also I couldn't go out as the lock isn't working well.
