First night in Alcudia we were undoubtedly tired after many hours of travelling which included an early start (3 a:m). However, hungry is something you always become no matter what so that part needed to be attended to. As any reasonable traveler would do, you walk one or two streets away from the "tourist streak" and we happened across this place. Being a company of fifteen people (including some tired and hungry kids) may scare some staff, but they were accommodating. We ordered a selection of entrees; I had a platter of garlic bread that I shared with my son and daughter. For main course I had my eyes on grilled deer tenderloin, my son on beef fillet, my daughter on pasta bolognese, and my wife on pasta carbonara. I had a nice glass of red wine to wet the meat which was served with baked potato filled with creamy garlic sauce, sauce of choice (red wine jus for me), and pan fried vegetables. The meat was cooked almost to a perfect medium rare. Lush red on the inside, pink on the outside. And the sheer amount of meat on the plate was out of this world. It did unfortunately lack both seasoning and a great char on the meat, but it was at the very least acceptable. I was actually unable to finish the entire plate because of the amount of meat.
All in all I was an adequate satisfied camper. Good food (it ranged from great to barely ok within our group), nice atmosphere, and decent wine compared to the prices. However, the service was way below par. Staff were stressed out, flustered, unsure, and at times even irritated. As a paying customer, that is just not acceptable. So nothing out of the ordinary, but at least a decent enough way to start a two week vacation. My father-in-law however couldn't stop raving about you lasagna, that needs to be said. read more
