Have had at least 3 repairs at S2. But recently took my car in because it wasn't running as expected. Patrick did an initial test and said he thought it was the injectors but needed for the car to be cold to be sure. So I left the car and he confirmed later in the day. However, I received a called from the Ops Manager(forgot his name) and said that the injectors were covered by an extended BMW warranty. S2 did not do the repairs and didn't charge me a dime! That's rare in today's world! Extremely honest and trustworthy shop! Highly recommend.... read more

Great service on my 2007 Audi S6 5.2. This shop knows Audi's. Great customer service, good business. They were able to diagnose and repair my engine - local Audi dealers were not able to repair let alone diagnose. Recommend S2 Dynamics for your mechanical needs. I'm not a mechanic; however, I started getting a lot of problems after taking my vechicle here for an oil change and what seem at the time as a battery problem. I have a 2008 328I so my vehicle isn't old by any means. At first I was very impressed by Pat's helfulness and customer service but the battery light was still on the same day I got my vehicle back. When I took my car back he said it was because of a bad valve. So I ended up getting that replaced. I have my suspicions on if i really needed to change my batery to begin with or did I spend over $300 for nothing. Be careful and take notes when he gives you a price because he would have charged me more if I didn't question his final bill. Well, it's been two months since i had my valve replaced and the car is having trouble starting. I took my car there in the morning and he set me up with a rental while he diagnosed the problem. He didn't pick up the phone when i tried to get an update and on the second day he wouldn't return or answer my calls. It was Friday so I didn't want to be stuck with rental car over the weekend. My boyfriend and I had to call him on three way because I suspect he was screening my calls, and to no surprise he picked up the phone right away. I believe he had no idea what the problem was at that time and that's why he didn't answer my calls. Instead of telling me he is still looking into it, he told me it was the ECU, which is the computer of the car. A new one would cost thousands of dollars but he could try to put a used one in for $400. This did not make any sense to me so I decided to call a BMW dealership for their opinion. THe gentleman said this hardly goes bad and doubt this was the problem. I called Pat and told him I didn't not want to proceed and asked what I should do with the rental. Since he was not repairing my car, he did not cover the rental. Mind you, it took him two days before i could get any kind of answer. I got stuck having to pay for the car rental. In the end I ended up taking my car to the BMW dealership after all. Their computer was kicking out codes that lead to the electronic valve, NOT the ECU. If I went to Pat I would have spent $400 for a problem I did not have and would have been charged more as he guess and checked his way to a solution at my expense. Before replacing the Electonic Valbe the mechanic at BMW changed my oil because this problem usually is a result of bad oil. Mind you, I got my last oil change from S2 Dynamics. After a couple days of getting my oil changed again, this time from BMW, my car is running just fine. Do not take your car here if you have a high performance vehicle such as mine. When in doubt, if something does not make sense to you, go for a second opinion. read more

1) Pat got the job done, BUT it took him a week longer than quoted, a lot of phone calls, many of which were unreturned, while my car sat at his shop. 2) Essentially bribes his customers with a coupon / gift certificate to post Yelp reviews, They are sitting in a stack on the check out counter. I usually don't write reviews, but I just have to for S2. The quality and knowledge from this shop is truly remarkable. I'm very particular about who touches my car, I've modded my car(s), performance wise for some time. I've been taking my car (05' 330i ZHP) here since I bought it in September 12'; anywhere from performance modifications to regular maintenance, the jobs Pat and his staff have performed on my car have been stellar. Since then, he and his team have taken care of our family's cars through over 180,000 miles' worth of oil changes and other maintenance. Pat has always treated us honestly, explaining in detail what repairs he recommended - as well as what he thought could wait until the next oil change or two. For major repair work, it's rare and refreshing to find a shop that will answer every question about an estimate and invite you to get a second opinion. (The last time I tried that, the other shop - a big-name chain - tried to push a longer list of repairs that would have cost 50% more. And kept me waiting nearly an hour to get my car back when I told them I wanted to think about it.) Can you find a cheaper price for an oil change here or tire rotation there? Sure. Wow. After hearing some strange rattling near the passenger front wheel of my Audi S4, we decided to take it to S2 Dynamics. We walked in a Monday morning at exactly 8am, and they were able to look at my car on the same day. They started it, drove it around, and looked at everything they could think of, but still couldn't find a problem. I was relieved of course, and I could NOT believe that they did not charge me for spending at least an hour (probably more) tinkering with my car. Excellent customer service! I dropped the car off late Thursday afternoon and had it back by Friday morning! This is my first maintenance visit at s2. My car notified me to change rear brake pads. I had a first consult at another place and they told me that I need to replace rotors too. Patrick informed me that rotors are still thick, no replacement needed, just the brakes were prematurely worn out, probably by the previous owner( 23k only.) The invoice for brake pads replacement was much lower then I expected and I'm not talking about not changing the rotors which would double the invoice. Great! Thank you! read more

S2 is the best indie I've found in the area to work on my Saab 9-3 Aero. They've done everything from aftermarket suspension mods to OEM driveshaft replacements. Not often can you find a reliable shop that can help a car guy on jobs that are a bit too involved for a driveway DIYer and maintain very fair pricing with such a high level of customer service. As my car continues to age, these guys keep her on the road. Their workmanship is fantastic and their level of customer service and knowledge is unmatched. So everybody hates going to the mechanic, because that means something is wrong with your car and it's super inconvenient to get to work, and you get my drift. Actually, I like to go to S2 Dynamics to talk to the guys that work there and learn so much about cars and my car specifically. Yeah it sucks when my car is broken, but if I have to take it in to get it fixed I prefer to take it to this place. Today is a perfect example of why I trust this place. I was getting some intermittent indicator lights, and the chief mechanic there thought it was a wheel sensor which is over $100 part. He ordered the part. Turns out they just needed to clean it off and reconnect it, problem solved! I got out of there just paying a little bit of labor but the honesty is what I like. read more

My first experience at S2 went smoothly from appointment to service completion (brake fluid service on a 2011 BMW 328xi). Reasonable prices, no hassle, friendly folks. I'll be back the next time service is required. PS: I am a refugee from the dealer now that my warranty has expired and was aghast, even though forewarned, at the dealer's proposed pricing for the same service. The $170 to replace the cabin air filter which I did myself in ten minutes for $20, was the tipping point. I guess someone has to pay for those swell loaner cars. read more

For the past 10 years I've been loyal to a great shop that's 30 miles away. This was fine as a single Volkswagen enthusiast with all the time in the world, but as a married man with a small baby, that location was no longer convenient for me. I found S2 when me and my wife's cars both took a dump in the same week. Pat was able to get both our cars in the shop the same week and got to work on them almost immediately. He was able to give me a nearly 100% accurate diagnosis over the phone why my car was reeking of gas. Both cars were ready in no time flat, and the prices were better than two other estimates I had gotten. I especially appreciate that the car was freshly hand washed and the steering wheel and shift knob was not all greased up (my pet peeve!!) - this was the icing on the cake! After one conversation with Pat, it's clear that he knows the inner workings and I have full confidence that he's providing the best care possible. I highly recommend S2 Dynamics. I simply had a mount and alignment for some new tires that was desperately needed, as my tires were definitely worn and affecting the ride in my A4. Ordered the tires myself and had them shipped directly to the shop with no issues. The appointment took a bit longer than I was expecting (closer to 2.5 hours), but the waiting area was nice and I was using the WiFi to work. Ha, I might not have even noticed if another customer had not come in an hour after me and have their car finished before mine. Anyways, cost was very fair, much less expensive than what the dealer service dept was offering, and my ride is smooth again.
