4 Years later, we are finally done with our "12 to 14 week project" that started with S&W Kitchens. This is after they abandoned our project, we had to get an attorney involved, and hire a different contractor to complete the project. Before the design was finalized, we reduced the scope of the project to pull out some major items. S&W revised their price for the project based on the changes we made. Despite the scope being significantly reduced, they came back with a price well above the initial numbers that had a greater scope. The information communicated from the office to their field was mostly inaccurate and caused issues. Due to the lack of organization, poor communication, inaccurate documents, we lost count of how many times things needed to be reworked. You would think a company being in business for 40+ years and having multiple locations throughout central Florida; organization, management, and communication would be their strong suit. We had 3 different superintendents over the life of the project. We had to constantly keep stepping in to get things corrected multiple times and keep things moving along. It would still be going on had we not done that. We needed to get the head of the field out of Orlando involved. Our thoughts were this would get things back on track. Reflecting on everything now, it accomplished nothing, dug the hole deeper, and wasted more time. We tried to get both owners, out of Palm Harbor and Orlando, involved to address the issues. That also yielded no positive results. The root of all the issues that were experienced trace straight back to ownership. This was a top-down issue where their decisions to have the personal in the roles they were in did not allow for things to work. When the owner describes in their online professional profile, playing multiple rounds of golf each week and walking their dog everywhere, you start to question if their priorities are focused on their business. Having company "retreats" in Utah where no one could be reached for a week when issues were occurring on the project was another upper-level decision we were surprised to see. Everyone we worked with appeared to have good intentions. They were just tasked with responsibilities that were outside of their own skill sets or limited by what management/ownership would allow them to do. As an example, having the designer get involved with coordinating, scheduling, or ordering of materials did not yield a good result. Stick to design, where their strengths are and nothing more would have helped. We wish we had known what we were in for prior. Had someone shared this type of experience, we would have sought out a different company. Our project was wrapped up in July 2024 by a different contractor who did an awesome job. This was 4 years after we started vs. the 12-14 weeks in the contract. During the first 15 months of our project, I witnessed a 25-story mid-rise go up from caissons set to occupancy and a high-end custom home go from foundation to the homeowners moving in. We wanted to update our kitchen and laundry room. We wanted to replace our builder grade cabinets and granite counter tops with high quality cabinets (with better organization), quartz counter tops and slab backsplash. I spent a lot of time planning my dream kitchen and laundry room. Right down to the last detail. We also needed new sinks, faucets, and pendant lights. One of the biding companies expected us to source these items our selves. What a pain! That was one of the main reasons we chose S & W Kitchens and Bath. The other reason we pick S & W was after meeting our designer, Lacie Rice. She came to our home and took measurements and listened while I laid out my vision. She made the process so easy. I met with her several times in the showroom in Tampa to shop and design. She found everything I wanted. She even matched the outlet covers on the island with the cabinet color. We met with construction manager Steve Cota and Designer Lacie for a final walk through of the plans and discuss the process. Everything was explained thoroughly. The estimate and final contract were meticulously detailed. We could see where every dollar would be spent. Every team (demo, plumbing, electrical, drywall, paint, cabinet install and counter fabricator) worked hard. They were respectful and tidy. Every step of the way Steve and Lacie were accessible. The back and forth communication was excellent. The permits all passed with no issues. They even sent cleaners before my house guests arrived for a holiday weekend. The quality of the Omega cabinets are excellent. The color is perfect. The Cambria Quartz counters and backsplash are beautiful. The kitchen and laundry room are much more functional now, too. Everything looks exactly how I had pictured in my mind. We couldn't be happier with the results. It looks amazing!!! read more

Remodeling a kitchen and bath are challenging enough, but when you're snowbirds the need for a partner who can help design the remodel, select materials, navigate city permits and HOA approvals and perform the wide variety of work required (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, tile and appliance installation, etc.) can be overwhelming. S&W made it all possible for us. Our design consultant, Fred Alvaro, did an outstanding job coming to our home to trade ideas, measure the layout and guide us through S&W's extensive collection of cabinets, tiles, faucets, handles, etc. The detailed project plan Fred produced ensured we were literally on the same page about the reconfiguration and look of the rooms, while Fred would drop in throughout the weeks-long project to ensure everything was going according to plan. Once demo and construction started we were introduced to Mike Frary, the project manager who ensured the various S&W employees and subcontractors followed the plan and met our quality expectations. Being away from home during long periods, we also found it helpful and reassuring that S&W maintains a website which Mike faithfully updated each day with descriptions of the work completed, upcoming activities and photographs. Beyond Fred and Mike we found the individual workers consistently friendly, responsive to questions and last-minute requests (e.g. moving a light switch), industrious and clean. An added note for condo owners: S&W faithfully adhered to our condo's rules about laying mats out in the hallways, parking restrictions, work time limits, etc. We are thrilled with our new kitchen and bath, and would highly recommend S&W to snowbirds and full-time Floridians alike. read more

Everyone has heard about "bucket" lists! One of my items in mine said, complete a Kitchen remodel before I retired. Well, it happened two years away from my retirement and very happy with the results. The time spent at the design stage with Kiersten Petty for the much-needed Q & A during the process of developing a design with our hopes and keeping practicality at bay, was well worth it. Kiersten listened patiently to our likes and wishes and incorporated them into the much-needed kitchen remodel, putting the design on paper / computer and ultimately into a contract. Sure, there were a few hick-ups during the build. She showed she cared about delivering our hopes and dreams by coming to the house with her thinking cap on her head any time she was needed. She would handle all field issues with professionalism and took into consideration our concerns and the finish product we were looking for in our new kitchen. She would always have an idea along with an altenative(s) that would also work. So, you were never pressured with a decision that you may not like at a later date. She always wanted you to be a part of the decision making. I would like to add a thank you to one of their finish carpenters, Tony. My husband and I recently undertook a major renovation of our kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom. We were extremely fortunate that we selected S&W Kitchens as our partner in this renovation. We live in Gulf Harbors in New Port Richey, and our home was flooded badly in Hurricane Helene in Sept/2024. Our neighbor used S & W Kitchens to remodel their kitchen and RAVED about how wonderful they were to work with. We decided to give them a try, and I made an appointment in the showroom in Palm Harbor. The showroom was lovely and the cabinet selections that they had were amazing! They had beautiful countertops and other fixtures to choose from. I've never seen a collection of backsplashes like they had. We were immediately HOOKED. We made our selections and signed the contract! Gina was our designer, and she was wonderful! She is so creative and easy to deal with. She answered any questions that we had very quickly. Alex was the project manager who was involved in the day-to-day operations. Every Monday morning (early), we would have an email from him of the entire schedule for the week, so we knew exactly what to expect. We really liked that! The workers were top-notch! We started a remodel with a different company but were not completely happy, so we worked with Gina to finish the project which started as major kitchen remodel but expanded to the entire main space (living room, dining room, and kitchen floor. S&W was helpful with design elements that we didn't address and updated flooring and lighting elements. S&W was quick to correct any issues and stayed on track. The communication was great with daily progress and photos. Sub-contractors great to work with and another set of eyes to tackle some major issues and even other small details helped finish off the project. Guess in retrospect we should have used S&W from the beginning. Tank was responsive as the project manager and was able to deal with the drama associated with double projects. We are very satisfied with the final project. Honestly, we caused some of the problems ourselves with being indecisive - so if you have trouble making final decision, S&W is great choice to work with. read more

I had an excellent experience with my kitchen remodel through S&W Palm Harbor. I had a general color scheme with some style references to start from and Gina did a great job as designer making it fit to the space and sourcing product to match as we narrowed down the choices to the final design. Daniel the contractor kept me informed on the work scheduling and handled bumps along the way like switching the round pop-up outlets to square ones when the demolition revealed unexpected clearance issues. The biggest modifications to the existing layout were adding a vent hood over the cooktop, changing a built-in desk into an additional pantry cabinet, and lowering the tall bar-top counter to counter height. They were very accommodating to reusing my existing appliances and saving some of the fixtures that I wanted for my laundry room. My kitchen looks awesome and the gain in functionality is a massive improvement from my original layout. read more

Kirsten helped us plan and design our DREAM kitchen! From the very beginning she listened to our priorities, cut things that weren't necessary to allow us to splurge on our wish list details. Anyone who has been through any remodel will know there will be hiccups- well Kirsten was immediately on top of any and always came with a solution. She never made us feel uncomfortable if we wanted to make a change or ask a ton of questions. She really made her part of the job a pleasure. Mike was the construction supervisor on our job and did a fantastic job communicating with us through the whole process. He had a handful to deal with because we live in a very strict building full of rules and regulations but he took it all in stride and never passed that stress on to us. Her vision of our clean and classic concept translated into an outstanding built in result. S & W employs in-house contractors so permits came quickly as every single piece of the project was referenced in our personal manual. Mike Frary, Construction Manager, kept the contractors scheduled and timely and communicated with us regularly keeping us up to date as well. We completed a gut remodel of our Clearwater Beachside condo kitchen in 2017 using S&W Kitchens and had a very good experience. Due to hurricane related damage (high humidity with no AC for weeks) we had to replace our kitchen cabinet doors in 2025. We also chose to extend the tile that was used in the kitchen throughout the unit replacing 20+ year old carpet. As this is a second home all the work was completed during our absence both in 2017 & 2025. As with any construction project there were a few "punch list" items that were taken care of in a timely manner. We found designer Shirley A. and construction manager Daniel N. very easy to work with and were attentive to our needs. We are extremely happy with our bathroom project. We had a complete master bathroom update and facelift. The room was gutted, re-tiled, installed new cabinetry, plumbing was moved for a new tub, new lighting and chandeliers were installed, and we installed new vanities and sinks. From start to finish, S&W exceeded our expectations. This is a buttoned up company. Everything is laid out upfront. The whole process was explained thoroughly and we were kept "in the know" at all times.There were no surprises. The workers were friendly and always on time. TOTAL KITCHEN REMODEL: S&W Kitchen's team of James, Aniko, Robert, and all the sub-contractors, gutted and completely remodeled our kitchen in Celebration, FL. They worked with us from design and planning through demo and rebuilding. Great care was taken with each step of the process and they helped us to make several changes when issues arose from the original plan. I cannot recommend them enough. I have lived in many homes in several states and have lived through many remodeling projects, and I can say they were among the best!
