Rating: 1/5 Stars I honestly can't recommend S&H Campground. Between the run-down facilities and the way the staff interacts with kids, it was a huge disappointment. To make matters worse, they double-charged us for our stay. I have already notified them and provided proof of the error, yet they still have not returned my money. If you want to read a more in-depth review of why we won't be back, I've posted the details below. First off, booking was a nightmare, they were incredibly hard to reach, and when we finally got someone on the phone, they acted rushed and annoyed. We had requested a specific site and were told it was confirmed, but when we checked in, they put us somewhere else. We didn't make a deal out of it because we just wanted to get settled, but it was just the start of the issues. We chose this place specifically for the "Family Fun Park," but it didn't live up to the hype, most of the equipment looked like old, second-hand carnival rides. The staff's behavior toward our kids was just bizarre. They were incredibly aggressive about enforcing odd rules, even when no one else was waiting. They told us our 3 year olds had to get off the bounce house because of a 5 minute timer when nobody was even waiting or wanting to get on. Later that night our 3 year old was told to get off a bounce house after 5 minutes, and later, a staff member actually ran right past her dad to yell at my daughter that the bounce house was closed, which just terrified her. It was not a welcoming environment for families. As for the billing issue, I've been in contact with the owner, Jay, for weeks. He even asked if I had Zelle so he could refund it, and I said yes, but I still haven't received a dime. It's unbelievable that a business would make their customers go through a formal bank dispute (which takes 60-90 days) instead of just doing the right thing and sending the money back after being shown proof of the mistake. We had a group event there, and staff members were great about reservations and such for multiple campers. While they weren't able to get us all completely adjacent, we were all very close to each other. We ordered a pile of pizzas from the restaurant on the hill; they were great to work with and tasted great too. While we had a lot of activities planned for the group on our sites, the family stuff for the kids up at the playground was an added bonus. read more

Ok "camp" ground. Not many campers mostly residents and seasonal people. The staff is very nice. The grounds have a nice playground for children. Gravel spots, minimal trees, tight spots, and lot of seasonal/permanent residents doesn't give you a camping feel. I don't anticipate coming back but recommend giving it a try and see what you think. I recently contacted S&H campground to use their mobile rv repair service for a leaking toilet in my camper. Over the phone they stated the price would be $149 for the first hour and they hoped they could fix it within that time frame. No other charges were mentioned during this call, however, when I checked my bank account they had actually charged me $248.00. When I asked about the additional charge, they stated that it was a $90 "trip fee" for about an 8 minute drive. This was never mentioned to me during the call or by the technician who came out. They stated they would refund the $90, but I have yet to see that. This was after the technician left without fixing the toilet because he didn't have the part he needed. I decided I would get the required part and put it on because he said it was just an issue with the hose clamp and I could just put that on myself. The technician said if this did not fix the issue, he would return without charge and fix whatever the remaining issue was. This did not fix the problem so I called S&H back to have the tech come back out to fix it. The woman on the phone stated this would cost another $250 to come back out. I reminded her the tech said he would come for free so they did not charge the $250 but stated they would need to charge me for the part. They charged me $100 for a water valve kit, which I could have bought for a much lower price anywhere else. The tech came out and fixed the issue but overall this was a headache and it doesn't sound like I'm getting my money back. I could have replaced my entire toilet for the cost of this service. I will mention the tech was very nice and I had no issues with him. read more

We got the chance to stay here 5 times over the summer. Two of those weekends were during holiday crowds, 4th of July and Labor day. This place was absolutely amazing. The decorations was so beautiful and the events for the holidays was stellar. The fireworks for both holidays was so good for a campground. Better than most cities. All the staff that we encountered was so lovely and helpful. My little one loved the pool, playgrounds, foam pit, putt putt and bounce houses. Food was great between the market place and ice cream shop. Would suggest this to friends and family all day. read more

PIPELINERS WORK TOO HARD TO STAY HERE. Let me keep it to the key points of why we left. 1. We paid $1200 a month while the person around the corner paid $3700 a year. 2. The water is so heavy in metallic deposits that it's almost nasty to shower in daily. (Women, it will ruin your hair, especially colored hair.) And we ran multiple filters. 3. If you work 10-12 hr days, sleep is kind of a needed thing, placing multiple workers on a main road where traffic runs constantly , while other spots are available days enough. We also asked to be moved. 4. There is a never a quite moment and you get to mix with camping folk. While generally great, we had more than 1 unpleasant encounter. 5. Water front property. We have a Bulldog. There wasn't even a proper spot for him to sit outside, especially when it rained. There was also a water/sewer leak, again that was reported, but never addressed. 6. When you get so big, you tend to lose control of things and that seems to be what is happening here. When a community talks ill of a business, and I mean multiple people in the community, it holds volume and says plenty, we won't ever stay here again and word of mouth goes a long, long way. I hope this saves someone else from what we and so Many other workers encountered. ALSO PLEASE REVIEW YOUR FINAL BILL. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US IN EXCESS OF $150 and we owed $50. read more

We rented a spot for a month because my husband was traveling for work. He was told by his union to go to Indianapolis. Once we got here he was told by the job we needed to be in Kokomo. We asked the owner due to circumstances could we pay him double the daily rate for his trouble. We said we can vacate the spot the same day if it's an issue. He said at that time, yes he was more than willing to work with us. He understood it was something out of our control. He encouraged us to stay for a couple of days to make sure we got our site in Kokomo since it was a busy season. We checked in 6/10/24 and checked out 6/12/24. The day we left he said he got our file and he would call us that evening. We didn't hear from him so my husband called 6/14/24. He said someone would look at the file Monday 6/17/24 and get back to us. He didn't call back. My husband called today 6/18/24 and asked if anyone looked at our file and he said someone has the file on their desk and they would call us back. My husband asked if they would actually call back. The owner said at this time for the first time, they don't have to give any refunds since they gave a no refund policy. My husband asked about the refundable electric deposit. The owner said he'd get to it when they get to it. I feel like he knew he had no intentions of giving us a refund. If he would've been a forthcoming about his intent, and said that from the beginning he wouldn't give a refund, we would've made the decision to stay in the spot we paid for, and just had my husband drive the hour and ten minutes back and forth for work. He strung us along instead, and we paid this owner $970 for 2 nights. We also paid a $50 deposit on electric. We didn't use $50 worth in 2 days. I'm so beside myself. My husband is a disabled veteran who hasn't worked since December due to the lack of construction jobs where we live. We FINALLY land a travel job here in Indiana only to get taken advantage of by this place. I would avoid this place at all cost. I read some reviews about the owner and we didn't believe what we read based on our conversation with him. Turns out they were true. He's unethically and he will lie to your face then tell you a different story over the phone. He is a thief. He lied about giving us a refund so we would leave our paid for spot. He shouldn't have said he would work with us then go back on his word. We would've just stayed in the spot what we paid for. read more

When I booked the site I was told I was to put down a deposit of a week and the electric deposit of $150. Shortly afterwards I received a notification saying I was charged for the FULL amount not a deposit. After speaking with the customer service the man said "I have it in my notes." After arriving the property looked like a mud hole even the "pad" was supposed be gravel but was submerged in water. I guess I should have known to bring waders to set up my campsite. The "grass" isn't grass it's weeds. They advertise "Clean bathrooms" but the toilet seats at hanging from one bolt, I wouldn't take a shower WITH shoes on meaning the shower doesn't look like it's been cleaned for who knows how long. Not to mention I get more water pressure out of a cup of water. It talks about noise aka Quiet time is 8am to 10 pm but they allow vehicles with loud exhaust pipes to wake you up at 3 in the morning. The campground looks like a run down amusement park that has been abandoned and converted to a mobile home park junkyard with a bunch of old campers and trailers. read more

It was a last minute decison to visit the area. Thought we would stay at S&H. (read the description in Good Sam 2017 edition) tho the're not affiliated with them any more. It sounded ok. Big Rig Friendly. Our site was up a steep rutted dirt road. That was scary. Sites are tight. Lots of live-ins, and it's run-down. Their brochure says the've been in business since 1968. Maybe, what they should do is spend some money to clean up the park, instead of spending it on the pamphlet at registration. Next time I'll be sure to checkout other sites in the surrounding area. If you are looking for a campground please go somewhere else.Even though they are marketed as a family friendly campground, it couldn't be further from it. We are a family of 5 that travel for work so we stayed for 2 1/2 months. During that time the police were on the property weekly if not daily for one reason or another. One incident there was a fight being handled by law enforcement which involved 6 police vehicles full of officers, needless to say this was the first time my children were rushed inside to avoid being around criminal activity. The second incident was the U.S. Marshals Service showing up to bring a suspect in while were trying to enjoy our day at the playground no more than 30 feet away. Not only did 2-3 law enforcement vehicles arrive but they had megaphones, sirens, and bulletproof vests. Not scary at all for 3 small children. So, again my children were rushed inside to avoid criminal activity. Rules were not enforced at all, quiet hours were a joke. All hours of the night there would be anything from fireworks to intoxicated people yelling. Brought this to the attention of the staff and the issue was never addressed. After the second big incident with law enforcement on the property we were finally able to find another campground to relocate. Trust me we were actively trying to find another campground after the first month but trying to find a campsite in summer is difficult as they fill up fast. When the law enforcement activity was brought to the attention of the OWNER, we were reassured that this was the SAFEST campground. We were completely talked down to and belittled by the owner himself. Once we we're finally able to secure a new location, we were told that we would receive a prorated amount back, that never happened. We called daily for two weeks until they started ignoring our phone calls. So the next step was filing a police report. We still never got our money back and probably never will. Hope this helps someone make the decision not to stay here. I would like to note this post is not being negative towards law enforcement in anyway as they were just doing their job. This is directly related to how this business is ran. Do Better! read more

DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT --- EVER --- do business with this family or stay at S&H Campgrounds. This "man" JAY promises you the moon when you first call with anticipation of a great experience in his "family-friendly" facility. Once you're "hooked" it's like pulling teeth getting him to answer calls about problems. He clearly was always avoiding issues HE caused. The only way I consistently got him to answer his phone was to first press #67 to block my number, then always "press 1 for reservations." He answered every time, the all-about-money; nothing about customer service "salesman". When we had our seasonal site, we hadn't even used our upgraded hardbody RV with slide-outs when a huge tree limb broke off a tree and went straight through our brand-new roof. Had to take it to dealership for electrical/lighting, etc. repairs. His response: "We're not responsible for acts of God." I told him all of his trees were DEAD! He didn't care. This guy got in my husband's face our last season, and told him, "All you've done since you've been here is b*tch!" Well, yeah, because that's the only reason we ever needed to talk to him --- PROBLEMS (unkept promises, refunds, double charging, thievery of our belongings, etc.) AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS --- AND YOU WILL PAY!!! read more

1 star is generous! This was one of the most difficult businesses I have dealt with. This trip was supposed to be 08/02-08/05. This all began when i called to make an arrangement back in march. I made the arrangements and they asked for $200 of the $338 that was quoted for 6 people staying. I gave my credit card information. I realized as the event approached they had taken my money according tonmy bank statement but I received nothing else from them. I proceeded to call and ask for a receipt for the $200 and a confirmation to know my reservation was processed, several times i many named Jay answered and told me someone would call me back and was never called back. A week before my family trip I was finally able to talk to someone that would be willing to walk over and pull my file to confirm my reservation. The family trip finally arrived and I called to say I may be late and was told by Ashley that would be fine and to just call when we got to town. We were 25 min from town and I called, Jay answered and in a gruff tone told me to call back when i got there and hung up. We checked into a cabin and found out Jay was the owner. Jay met with us at 10 pm and was very adamant that under no circumstance were we to contact him until 9am and at that time we were to go to the office if we needed anything. There were 4 of us staying Because 2 were unable to make it. When we showed up Jay told us we would still have to pay almost $200 when we paid a deposit of $200 however, over the phone I was told 138 including ac charges of 30. He refigured it and there was still a discrepancy in price. We were staying in their most biggest andexpensive cabin at $80 a night that was supposed to sleep 6 people. He gave us 2 keys and said choose which cabin we liked better between cabin A or B. My husband mentally noted that on the board in the office it said cabin A said was dirty, cabin B said a name, Cabin C-E said ready. We open the door to cabin B and there is stuff in it of people staying in there already. This is a huge safety risk. We went to cabin A and it was filthy with a broken bed (we needed 4 beds) there were 3 mattresses and one of the beds was broken. The broken bed was the bottom of a bunkbed so not only was the bottom mattress missing but it was broken making it unstable and unsuitable for sleeping. The mattresses were boxsprings with a little padding. The refrigerator had a residue that was on the floor as well. We tried calling him within 20 min and he did not answer his phone but allowed it to go to voicemail. We had to find another place to sleep seeing as there was only 2 functional beds and 4 of us. Before leaving we all went to the bathroom seeing as we had been on the road all day. The ladies bathroom smelled of sulfer and there were spots in front of the sink that was sinking as if there was a water leak destroying the floor unde me. We checked into a hotel and started trying to get him to refund under false pretenses and security risks that next morning. When we got there at 9:30am he was not there so i spoke to Ashley who said he would have to ok the refund. He began avoiding us like the plague and proceeded to refuse to talk to us until we were able to corner him when arriving. He quickly realized what our car looked like and started not being around when we arrived. Then he pushed off the responsibility onto Ashley. We called and showed up to civilly talk about this and it started saying we were bullying him. He finally agreed to a refund to the account to reverse charges. If the charges are not removed by Monday we will be going to my credit card company. Today 08/04 I called and he proceeded to yell at me over the phone for putting reviews up because "i am smearing his name" and "not allowing him to rectify the issues." I have stated a play by play of what happened and if that is smearing his name than his customer service and his tone should change. I will update on the progress of this once it is resolved. S&H ruined the first part of our family vacation and then proceeded to do so up until our day of leaving because we dealt with them every day of the trip. read more

We are not spoiled attention seeking folks. That being said it's too bad that the ones that left reviews were. This place is clean, fun ,easy to use and full of great family friendly events and activities. As I sit poolside I can see from here, kids lined up for tempory tattoos, a magician doing tricks, they are cooking burgers and dogs for guest with live music poolside. That's just in this small part of the place. This is our first time here! We are really impressed! Clean shower houses , friendly staff lots of things to do. We do recommend. read more

We had an awesome experience, came down for our traveling football team to play in a championship so we had a lot of kids at the campground in many different cabins so we were very loud to say the least. Management was so helpful and were very nice to our kids. We were there on off season so a lot was closed of coarse like the swimming pool and the bounce house but the kids fished we grilled hot dogs and played hide and seek in the dark for hours. Just had so much fun, we will all be back in spring. The bathrooms were clean and the cabins were clean. read more

3 stars for the campground itself. The bathrooms were clean & decent for a campground. Laundry room locked most of the time.. don't know what that is about.. plus it costs 3$ to do one load of laundry.. so not included in your stay. WIFI does NOT work on the upper lot (long term parking). Cell service is dogdy. The owners live in the huge house right beside the campground.. long term parking is right literally behind their house with tons of windows which makes things a little uncomfortable. You can definitely see where their money goes and it is not toward the upkeep of the campground. 2 stars for the customer service. The ladies that work in the campground were extremely nice and helpful. Seriously 5 stars for them. As for the men, including the owner, VERY rude and not helpful at all. I do not understand why they work in the office if they are going to sit there, not speak, and stare at the wall until you go away. Very unprofessional. read more

The next morning went into office to see about another Space guess what didn't happen and at the price they Charge u would like better service. Lots of water by area where power was plugged in and the water for the RV, also we had no Sewer when we were paying for FULL HOOKUP The people inside the store/Office it seemed like if asked them a question it was like u were bothering them. Let Me start by saying the good things. There's a lot of stuff for kids to do the fireworks and music are awesome and the breakfast in the café on the hill is great. The bad all has to do with the campground. It was the smallest space in a walkway that I have ever had to park in and the price was ridiculous. there were normal empty sites just down from us that were empty the whole time we were there. There was absolutely no reason for us to be put into a walkway site that we did not even have 10 feet between us and the next RV. Loud music every Saturday morning right next to the camper. When it rained there was lakes of water everywhere we had to ask multiple times for a table and a fire ring to be brought to us and the sewer kept backing up and the people next to us did not have their sewer hooked up properly so it was just running out onto the ground and they came as soon as I called and all they did was put a cap on it and said yes we are having problems. We are full-time RVers and when we put a deposit down for electricity we are always charged for electric at the end and the money is taken out of the deposit. They actually sent us an electric bill on the first and then were calling us telling us it was due and I told them I have never been to a campground that does that for someone that is registered to stay one month. On top of that the owner called the day before our month was up and reminded us that our rent was due for the next month. We had left two days before our checkout date and I told the office. We were 1000 miles down the road. They will Never get another penny out of us. And because of Covid I had tried to cancel the reservation initially and there was no way that they would give your money back. They also made me sign a lease for a one-month stay which I have never had to do. When I asked the lady in the office if I could please read it before I signed it she told me "no I'll give you a blank copy." She was extremely rude and appeared to not want to be working there read more

We are full timers, with our own fifth wheel- so far we have had a great experience at this campground. Granted I haven't used the bathroom facilities or laundry- as we have our own. But everyone has been extremely friendly & accommodating including the owner, Jay. He let us arrive a week early due to my husbands job & waves every time he passes by & has even stopped to check in to make sure we had everything we needed. The activities for the kids are pretty awesome, large bouncy houses, hay rides, scheduled activities, live music on the weekends, breakfast buffet on the weekend mornings, etc. you can tell they put a lot of work into it. During the week it's quiet & calm, although it's not summer season. Giving a 4 star, only because we've only been here a week or so (so I'll check back & change my review as needed) and the pond area could be cleaned up a bit & more dumpsters added so the trash doesn't overflow when it gets busy on the weekends. Some of the campers look ill cared for and like they are from the beginning of time- good and bad. People have stayed so long because they love it here they've acquired more things at their site, but some could use a few rules/cleanup. But it is a campground after all, so not too picky. All in all, it's a great campground we would recommend & we've invited our family and friends out for the weekends. They loved the activity barn area! read more

This place is the worst campground I have ever been to first off the owner j pays his help shit wages some make 100 a week other make 200 a week for all the money that he gets from monthly and people one the weekend he should at lest pay them decent wages and not to mention he is always pissed off and takes it out one the people that rent site from him people break in to your cars and steal anything that is not attached to your rv he will not put rock down on site you have to maintain your rv spot you rent I will never come back here this place is trash and so is the owner and also I wouldn't of gave a star they are the worst make you move the middle of the night when they overbook your spot the owner j I asked him if he had something to air up my rv tire when he made me move at 12 am and he told me to hurry up and quit wasting time he owns people money for cutting the trees down never paid them the pound when is rains gets filled with sewer water the trash is always filled to the top and over on the ground he doesn't take care of anything in the park the café in other places are falling down sewer is backed up on the ground very unhealthy I wouldn't let your kids Play the jumpy fun park there are holes in all the jump pads we are kids could literally fall through they help around there talks nothing but crap on each other and the people that stay there and there kids I recall one of them talking about how these kids smelled funny and how there parents never gave them baths and there sewer runs in the water supply there pool has a crack in it so he puts a hose in it and has there water running to it his help tells you not to buy anything there because he up charges for everything his tractor that drives around every weekend for sewer pump dumps out all over the ground read more

This is an old campground over 40 years in the same family. So be prepared for older stuff. So would say outdated and they might be right but the have a lot of guests that have been coming for years. Lots of kids playing etc. it was good for a family to go hand make memories. LOL no I don't work there. We went there on the 4th of july weekend because they had a lot of stuff planned and fireworks. I should say it was our first time at this site. it started with a mix up in what site we where getting. But the Jay the owner showed up and we quickly had a site we was happy with. Found out that I need more time backing up the new RV, so one of the other campers just jumped in for me, and boom RV (we call it POS) is in the slot. As we started to setup I notice that it was a gravel pad, thinking oh great time to level the beast. BUT when I checked the bubbles it was spot on. First time for me with a gravel pad. Happy day still going strong. Hooked up the water and elect, no problems everything was right where it should be, again old site but they had 50/30 amps and I lucked out with a sewer site. Again happy days, because I was planning to flush all the tanks this weekend anyway. They had lots of things to do for both young and old, live music, swimming, etc, etc.though for late teens would have been nice for something more. All and all only negative thing was the information wasn't really posted and easy to find. Easy fix with some work, not a deal breaker. Heavy shade, nice breeze, low hum. great weekend weather wise. Best enternament came from what I called the Red Neck theater. The cabin across from us. first night a big BBQ, so many cars, and they didn't want to part in parking lot so soon the road was blocked, Jay to the recuse. So the extra cars was gone. Funny how the guy in the cabin didn't understand (or could read) no parking signs. Next morning we get part two, Husband and wife having a fight, clearly they weren't happy campers. after about an hour, the guy took off. then the wife. that end the story. Rest of the weekend was just perfect, made new friends that all of a sudden my lady is booking our site for the rest of year there. Went from checking this out to this is where we are going to be over night. If you look past the age of the ground this is a great place for a family just to chill and decompress I read some of the old reviews and cant say I agree with them. was a clean pond, we sat at it for over and hour and didn't smell anything, the bathrooms did have an odor as most old campground ones due but they was clean. Yea we had someone popping fireworks but about 10:30 (when posted quite time) things quited down. In one part of the campground there are some campers that have been there 10 or more years. They could use a good cleaning ok a really good cleaning, but we didn't camp there so no problem. I know the KOA down the road, it cost more and almost NO trees, one of the things MY lady wants is water and trees.. The upper area was just open and simply put, trees grow slow. AGAIN lol I DO NOT WORK FOR THIS CAMPGROUND IN ANY WAY. read more

Thought this was an rv park! It's closer to a mobile home park! Tarps on top of RV's, aggressive dogs tied up outside barking and trying to break their lead! Where do I begin? My husband and I have been camping for almost 30 years. We used to bring our kids to S&H when they were little and we really enjoyed it. We had not been back in years and were excited to bring our 4 year old granddaughter there for the weekend. I have never been so disappointed or grossed out by a campground ever. From the over-flowing trash bins to the unbelievable amount of crap around people's campers, to the fact that some of the campers there looked like they had been sitting for years and were rotting away. Fishing? Forget it, there are no fish. Playground is in serious need of work and the swimming pool, although a good size, looked filthy. They keep better care of their flowers by the main office than they do their campground. The site we were on was more like a mud pit and the size of a matchbox. Seems to me this operation is all about cramming people in to make money. I hate to sound like a typical "Karen" but honestly, if you have camping desires in that area, find someplace else! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but this weekend left me very frustrated. We got to our camp site on Thursday night, and the first thing I notice was that I asked for full hook up, Our site had only water and electric. I asked the ladies at the front desk about it. The response was all sites pay full hook up we come and dump your trailer just let them know. I scheduled my dump for Saturday morning! Saturday afternoon my husband called and they responded we don't dump while it's raining. (I bet they except me to still leave at 2:00 if it's still raining!!!!)Anyway I called a bit later to see what the status was and I was assured it would be done, my husband stopped a gentleman on the golf cart and asked if we needed to be here because we had a baseball game and we're leaving soon, " nope we got it, no problem " got back from game at 9:30 pm still not dumped! Went to office they said our site number wasn't on the board so it was dumped. We told them it hadn't been when they called the women who was doing the septic for the day, said she didn't do ours, but would be here shortly to dump tonight.........well it's 10:58 pm now and I don't see it happening!! I feel I should at least get the difference of a full hook vs. Water electric. Frustrated, I have a nice camper tried to plan ahead and schedule my dumping so, I guess I can "Blame it on the Rain" frauds and fakes here. read more

I called in May 2017 to ask about reservations for December. The owner, Jay, assured us that it was his policy to refund our money if in fact my husband wouldn't end up working in that area for a month. It turned out we will not need to go there. I called eight times asking for a refund. Each call was forwarded to Jay's cell phone and he kept saying he would refund me our money, but never did. His lies continued and he began insulting me when I called. $520 is a lot of money to have stolen from you without your consent. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS UNETHICAL person. Our first impression, we were placed in a parking lot, no tree coverage, across a residential area. Restrooms were a pig sty, only 2 stalls, no locks, one was clogged, garbage can was overflowing. Pool looked dirty, horrible color, cold. Pond was algae covered and stunk. Felt like a trailer park instead of a campsite, we were on the water and electric hook up side. The primitive side looked better, more trees. No quiet time, still noisy after midnight, plus the road noise, it was hard to sleep. The extra star we gave was for the decent fourth of July fireworks and the office letting us borrow the adaptor for the pop up. It also had lots of playground equipment for kids. read more

THIS IS A NEGATIVE NOT WORTH A STAR IN ANY UNIVERSE! READ if you wish to know what happened EASTER WEEKEND. We are a tent camping family this time we borrowed a pop up due to weather paid for to stayed 2 nights, but only stayed 1. No Refund policy they have clearly stated. At check in was told to choose from any 8 site that was not with standing water due to the creek raising waters. Once half our gear was out we had to move due to it being a yearly rental site, and they will be here this weekend to set up. NO those people did not set up, thanks for misleading us! Next was not informed until it was to late that the 3 port o potty's on the primitive side were OUT of ORDER (No Sign). My daughter came back from the restroom and said, "They were gross Mom, but I used the butt wipes to clean the seat the best I could so I could go. " She is a child their perspectives can be off, but NO my kid was right! NASTY! First off is it was not cleaned from the PREVIOUS flood, that is sickening.This has to be a public health issue and the ammonia smell that has you vomit, like I did. I told the owner he said, " Yea they were in the flood you have to go up to the heated bathhouse, those port o potty's are out of order on that side, Sorry about that".That was a joke to. Yes heated, but covered I mean covered in MOLD. Every toilet must of had a pipe bust being worked on maybe???? I guessing that is why the pink insulation was exposed and was with black mold still exposed.You open the door and bamm the odor, don't even look under the sinks that's scarier. Finally few other items of concern I would like to bring up. There was not a grate for the fire ring and was not I did not see where they did not provide it either. The play area and shelters there are a physical hazard/death trap to anyone or was under water! Their drainage was horrible puddles everywhere. There was rusty metal, broken wood, sharp edges that can seriously hurt anyone near the play shelter ar eas.The geese were like attaching zombies on top of campers, sites personal sheds, everywhere they were, chasing anyone getting close. Also the noises the geese would make at night was unnecessary like the residential traffic. The residential road was bamm in your face, all night long my own house I hear less traffic.Some of or most of the yearly people sites are like hoarders or just very trashy. At the top of the hill was upper class and lower was the ghetto, still all backed in like sardines.This was very unpleasantness to look at.There was no standards or rule being enforced or maintenance from either PROPERTY owner's or RV owners. Lastly the owners private 4 story cabin resort home w/6 car garage, balconies, and 2 classics sitting outside really show the priority of the campgrounds owners with a NO REFUND policy for these conditions. Needless to say I will not return and stick with State/National Park camping where standards are maintained property for any style camping. read more
