Everything happens before 2 pm and closes around that time too. We stop by for their famous oyster and had zero regret. Just wished we were here earlier in the day. This market has two parts. A side for fresh veggie, cheese and bread. French people take their bread very seriously. You will find a lot of small pastries on the way in therefore do come hungry. Next part will be the meat and seafood part. I would come back here again just for their oyster bar in the back. Beside oyster, you can find other fresh season cooked and serve on the spot. Be warned it's not a big space. You can get some or alot to go on the beach. But just eat it there and enjoy. Restroom is outside the building and it locks down after 2 pm. The dinning room is like family style seating with large picnic tables spread through out. The specials are up on a chalkboard that give some good off menu options. The menu is small which we like because it means they do everything good. For appetizers we got the paté Basque one night which may not appeal to everyone but was really good as it is served with some regional sausage, green peppers, some jambon Bayonne (thinly sliced cured and aged ham from the region, very similar to prosciutto), we also had the calamari which is amazing, excellently seasoned! I ordered the Cote de Beouf to share with my friend (it is huge, 900g. and is recommended to share). They cook it on an old brick grill that you can seen as you walk into the dinning room. The meat is beautiful as it is local meat and tastes so fresh. My wife ordered the seafood platter which came with salmon, cod, calamari, shrimp etc. If you want to experience Basque food and culture I feel this is the spot. Most of the items from the menu come for the region. The service is super friendly and fast. They speak good English to explain some of the items on the menu. The dinning room is large and most people are in large groups. Its a great experience and is a must if you are Biarritz or a nearby town.
