When they saw me sitting there, they threw me out because "my piercing looked like I had been doing drugs". i had to insist to be allowed to as much as wash my hands. They didn't look through my bag or anything, i guess my privates and my piercing were the points of interest? I was later let back in by another security staff member who tried to gaslight me into believing the door was ajar. It was not. I saw it turn in slow motion as I was wiping my blood from my crotch and these two disgusting individuals were standing there shouting at me. Only reason I went back in was because there was no way to get anywhere safely at that time and I had a flight the next day. When I had to pee next I had my camera ready but they only did that once.

So this one time, while waiting for the Eurostar to Paris, I saw Skrillex…read more SKRILLEX! Brutal dubstep DJ extraordinaire! Said sighting was all the more thrilling because I had "seen" Skrillex, in concert In London The very night before Despite all the voices in my head telling me to leave him alone I went to him to say hello. Said "hello" actually kind of sounded like this: "OHMYGODI'msuchahugefanofyoursIsawyouinSanFranciscoandthenlastnightinLondonandIjustthinkyou'rethefuckingshitanddidImentionIwassuchahugefan???" At some point during the above amazing "conversation" He asked where I was going And I said Paris And I asked where he was going And he said Paris And then I joked, "Maybe I'll come see you again tonight" At which point he turned to his manager and said, "Can we put her on the list?" In my head: EEEEEEEEKKKK!!!!!!!! From my mouth: Oh, yeah, I mean, whatever man. Cool. He played at La Machine du Moulin Rouge (Like, inside the old Moulin Rouge!!!!) Observations at La Machine du Moulin Rouge: All the bar staff wore these cute, incredibly French stripey t-shirts. The drinks were an extraordinarily reasonable 4 euros a pop. I learned about a new drink. It's called mojito a la champagne. It's a mojito, but you put the champagne where the soda water used to be. You should get it. I also learned that "tequila" is also "tequila" in French. I love the cramped, super uncomfortable smoking room at the front where you can squeeze yourself against an ungodly number of attractive Frenchmen. I was asked if I had MDMA maybe 6 times in 2 hours. French bouncers are maybe the nicest bouncers in the whole entire world. French gigs are maybe the smelliest gigs you will ever go to in your life.

In fact my sisters probably leaving a review too, that's how great it was here. The first night we met the boss, Babaka. He was super respectful and really helped us out. We easily made friends with the security and bar tenders and knew them by name and greeted them as friends the next night. Ramon, jean, khadjya, etc. they took great care of us asking if everything was safe and if we were having fun. Both nights were exceptional and their customer service is splendid. The setup and pathe upstairs floor is latin music, as a Latina I was very proud to see that mi gente were having fun dancing to great music. Everyone spoke Spanish upstairs, the people and the staff. I danced with a professional dancer from El Salvador, met many Columbianos, Chileans,Mexicanos, etc. Amazing crowd there. Down stairs there's a lot of older American hip hop rnb (but very nostalgic) and some french rap as well. The crowd is definitely lively and a different style of dancing than upstairs, of course. I really enjoyed throwing it back downstairs. Drinks: champagne was great, the sex on the beaches were a little strong but not bad, mojito was spot on. Pictures: My sister and I met a lot of really friendly and empowering women

I wanted to love this place, I did. Especially when I heard about it through a friend of a friend…read morewho was actually flown to Paris to spend 3 months helping David Lynch himself design and execute the space before it opened. So, of course, we simply HAD to go check it out on our trip to Paris. Anything David Lynch is part of, I want to see/experience. However, it did not deliver. Sure it was dark (it's a crazy 4-6 stories below ground), but it is mysterious & chic? Well, given that those with a membership can enter from 6p-11p and enjoy it privately and the public can enter after 11p and the public that lines up beginning at 11p kinda ruins the whole vibe, the answer would be a hard no. We arrived and on one side was a line for the dreaded "bottle service" - those willing to pay hundreds and thousands of €, to sit inside a velvet roped area inside the club, Gross. Strike one. We got into the line on the other side, where the bouncers were acting like it was a cross between Studio 54 and an exclusive rap club. They were hassling locals, making them sweat to get in. Then, when it's our turn, they immediately recognize that we're non-locals and speak English to us. They were actually cordial, but said "Good evening sir - - €25 each!" Ugh, strike two. After descending into the cavernous space, which is actually pretty cool, you quickly realize it very small and the seating is all bottle service/"VIP". Then you also realize the crowd is not the hip, creative cognoscenti of Paris, but rather the Parisian version of frat boys and sorority girls, that have zero interest in art, culture and likely have zero idea who David Lynch is. Strike three. Am I glad I went to see it, sure, but I think we stayed 45 mins tops. Ugh.
